The trip to the Manor did not do any wonders for Nicaea's nerves before the quest had begun. A lone Utility player traveling through hostile territory was...not the brightest of ideas, overall. However, his Chariot reading had said to march boldly, and so he did. What he did not expect, however, was for his decision to be vindicated by the appearance of a glimmer. Was it, perhaps, the fated "rare drop"? Had someone left such an item behind, perhaps succumbing to wounds after fighting a tough enemy to a standstill? Not bloody likely, but he was already here, so obviously he would investigate. And if he happened to retrieve something, well, he wouldn't have to share this time around. However, as he approached the sparkle, something flickered in the corner of his eye. The fortune-teller nervously spun around, but saw nothing. As he turned back around, he yelped and almost fell back. Hovering above the sparkle was some sort of spirit. "Yipes! Ugh...what now?" Aggroing the thing alone was out of the question, but there was treasure right there. And in this world, a good treasure could be life-saving. He stepped back to see whether the ghost would attack him. For a while, the two stood (and hovered) without any motion. Nicaea, struck with indecision, could not flee or advance. Eventually, he remembered his reading from the morning. Death Inverted, and a Chariot, right? Clearly, that meant charging idiotically at the spectre! Nicaea drew a card and tossed it forward, running in. However, the card did not pass through the ghost, instead lodging itself on...some intricate spider webs that were simply catching the light strangely. "Ha...haha. Yeah, OK, no one saw that." Blushing furiously, he retrieved his card and also the sparkling object, which turned out to be a small box. "I'll check this out later when I get back to town, in case it's trapped. Hope it's not empty..."G5PIv0Wt | TAGS: no one in particular Today's Reading: World, Death Inverted, Chariot ENEMY DETECTOR EMPTY |

[attr="class","bluevelvet"] he had to give it to 'em - hook's cove, just like all the other spots he'd visited thus far, was just as unbelievably stunning and scenic. of course, aside from the whole 'trap all of your players in your game for the rest of their lives' ordeal, it was hard not to respect the awe and wonder the developers had managed to create.
he traced his gloved hand across stone walls as he made his way down a hidden flight of steps. the strong smell of salt and the sea subsided, somewhat. he began venturing through hidden streets with high windows and static movement. the npcs that he could see were all watching some interesting, far off ordeal, it seemed.
'course, this whole situation was fucked up. eli'd promised that he'd hold tight and wait it out - do the best he can for now - avoid dying, etc etc. 'course, yeah, this world was stunning and beautiful and magical, all that jazz - but it isn't the world he knows. nothing beats an actual chicken tikka masala, after all. the in game curry is some far too fuckin' sweet.
he almost tripped over a step whilst lost in thought. he paused and looked around to see if any players witnessed his clumsiness - none. releasing a breath he didn't know he was holding, he carried on, venturing further, past another cul-de-sac until he found himself what looked to be a dead end. the walled end of the small path had grass above it, and was fenced off.
still, it caught his attention. he was just about to see if he could pull himself up the wall when he noticed a small chest underneath. charmed, he attempted to open it.

[attr="class","scare"]DIG DIG DIG!! [attr="class","scare1"] [attr="class","scare2"] [attr="class","scare3"] [attr="class","scarewords"]So Rex wasn't exactly the best kind of treasure hunter, but he sure as hell wasn't going to sit around twittering his balls when there was a chance he could dig up a mound of freaking money. He thought about all the booze and boobs he could buy with that kind of money, and it made the evil shark like grin on his face widen even more.
He was somewhere out in the sand near the cove, combat shovel digging through the yellow sea of grit in search of something worthwhile below. Strange how he could feel the slight tinge of fatigue in his muscles as he worked, and what felt like sweat dripping from his forehead. He'd instinctively reach to wipe it away with the back of his arm before he went back to shoveling.
Worst case scenario he figured if he couldn't find the treasure, maybe he could abuse the person who was lucky enough to find it and just...well fucking steal it. It was a kill or be killed world out there, right? A man needed substance, and if you couldn't hold your own you didn't deserve a prize like that anyways!
Eventually the hole he was digging got pretty deep and there was still no signs of shines beneath, so with a nasty curse under his breath he'd kick at it and move somewhere else on the beach to start a fresh dig. If there was one thing the stubborn idiot had going...it was determination. He'd damn well dig holes until his arms fell off.

[attr="class",screamlyrics"]THIS COBWEB OF SICK BLOOD [attr="class","screamlyrics1"]OUR HONOR IS THE HOLY BLOOD | [attr="class","screambod"]Treasure. A hidden cache full of goodies and loot for whoever managed to find the chest first, something like that would interest any person, not just pirates. So it only made sense that Aleister would be out here doing his damned best to find whatever kind of treasure it was. He was definitely less then prepared for treasure hunting, the only actual tool he had to dig up anything in case it was buried treasure was his spear. Digging with a spear isn't exactly ideal.
Swearing under his breath for a moment Aleister would get to work with trying to dig through the sand with the pointed end of his spear, not managing to do much besides poke holes in the ground. Though his spear did fade from its usual red hues and become a much lighter blue by the time he had finished the attempt. "Must of hit a crab or somethin.." The blue haired man blurted out to himself as he looked around the area some more, eventually spotting some kind of little cave.
With a smirk on his face Aleister would take off running to the cave, figuring that if there was treasure in a cave it would be hidden behind something. Or on top of something like in those old indian jones movies that his old man used to watch every other day. Which of course meant no digging in the sand for the shovel-less man. As he entered the cave he'd slow back down to a walk, holding his spear at his side as he looked around for the good loots. |

Hook's Cove was a nice place but Bugs was having trouble enjoying the scenery. The boat she'd taken to get to the island had left her more than a little seasick and, as she trudged off the dock and through the sand, the ocean breeze buffeted her and encouraged sand to wedge into her gear. It turned out the beach really sucked when you were wearing a full suit of armour. She itched.[break][break]
She made the choice to walk along the beach, however unpleasant it was, bypassing the town and the rowdy NPCs she could hear even from here. She knew there was treasure scattered all over the world and she was hoping for a chance to find something for herself. The town would be the first place anyone would look, so it was a waste to go there - she was sure that if anything of value spawned it'd already be gone.[break][break]
Bugs scrunched her nose against the sea-salt smell and tucked an errant strand of hair behind her ear as she squinted into the distance. She shielded her eyes from the sun with a hand. There was a tall, rocky outcropping a little ways away, which looked a good place as any to find some sweet loot. There was the added bonus of being a little shielded from the wind, too. She hastened her pace.[break][break]
It wasn't long until she arrived at the outcrop and she immediately got to work. She manoeuvred over some of the smaller rocks - not that easy in her heavy gear - and navigated around those that were too large to climb, searching for anything out of the ordinary. Something shiny would be nice.

There had been a lot of talk about treasure chests roaming the area. In fact Wist was sure at least five npcs had suddenly started talking in his ear all at once, so maybe it was an in game kinda event. Still, he had no choice but to go check it out. What kind of player would he be if he didn't participate in the events after all? He would be a worthless one that's right and it would mean that he would miss out on any and all event things that he could get. The grand festival had given some rare items after all so maybe this one would show some really rare items, after all - he had nothing holding him back from at least trying.
Getting as much information as the white haired attacker could he headed out to the place that the treasure chests were figured to be. And sure enough a lot of players were here... a lot. It meant that most likely he was late to the party which would mean late to the prizes. A small groan came from the man as he moved quickly but not carelessly as he too started to search for any treasure chests that might be here. After all it wouldn't matter if he was here last if he was lucky enough.
It seemed this kind of thing was based on that anyway rather than just show up and get a prize. If it was there probably wouldn't be anyone left here. Next time Wist needed to make sure that he was on task with the events so he wouldn't be so late again. Looking around yellow orbs started trying to take in the places that people were and the places they hadn't been. Wist moved now to try and find somewhere the chest would be, and wist started digging maybe just maybe he could find something even being late.
Though lady luck was never really in anyone's favor.

The Lovers Arcana. Oft interpreted on the face of things to be a card portentous of romantic encounters, many schools of thought interpreted it instead as symbolic of relationships in general. After all, were there not many sorts of love? Companionship, siblinghood, friends with benefits... Okay, so that last one wasn't really love, but still. In any case, Nicaea found himself wondering about what sort of person he would meet today. He wasn't really holding out for a 'fated encounter'; a lot of the other players he'd met so far were dudes, so that was that. Perhaps it would be someone who would one day become the top player on the server? Given the circumstances, such a person would be a great boon to make a companion. Still, the Moon and the Reversed Wheel of Fortune... Together, they formed sort of a bad omen, of some dreadful turn of fate to come. Nicaea looked up at the sky, imagining the moon back in the real world. It would be nice to gaze upon it with his friends again if everything blew over, though that seemed unlikely at this point. As he thought upon the moon, his foot caught on something on the ground and he tripped onto his face. Picking himself up, Nicaea looked over at what turned out to be a hollowed log. He chuckled to himself a bit, thinking Man, it'd be nice if that was the Wheel I was meant to stumble upon today. However, as he stood up, he thought he saw a glimmer of something within the log. "Huh? Is that...?"1PZWOTx1 | TAGS: no one in particular Today's Reading: Lovers, Moon, Inverted Wheel ENEMY DETECTOR EMPTY |

[attr="class","hiraeth"]hríð | [attr="class","achee"] [attr="class","castleonthehill"] ❖ SNOWLIGHT THE HUNTER . . . xxxxx❝ INSIDE I'VE BEEN SHAKEN, MY SANITY TAKEN There were many rumors surrounding Hook's Cove and admittedly, some of them more colorful than others. Still, that didn't deter Snowlight from doing a little exploration on her own. After a small mishap with some shady people, she found herself in the possession of an old map. At first, she considered throwing it away fully aware of her own terrible luck with them. The idea of buried treasure, however won her over in the end. With the old stained map in hand, Snow set out early in the morning to see what she would come across. The map led her up, down, around, and even over and under landmarks for nearly two hours. Half of that time she spent deciphering awful, smeared handwriting. There was also the occasional snag or two where the drawings looked to be misleading. She could've sworn the rock looked more like a cat than a shark! Snow sighed, plopping herself down on the nearest rock, staring down at a tiny crab. Her eyes followed it as it circled itself behind her. She leaned back to look for it only, it had disappeared and in it's place was a grimy old box sealed with a rusted lock. Well, she knew one way to break open a lock. Taking a hold of her bow, Snow pulled back a blue arrow, letting it fly straight towards the lock. What ensued was a loud sound confirming the lock had been broken open. Sitting herself down with her legs folded under her, Snow prepared herself for opening the chest. Her hands rubbed together excitedly. Using her thumbs, Snow popped open the top easily, peeking in to check the contents. ✧tag -- n/a ✎ 279 words ✉ treasure chest ❖ ChLpuFuA

[attr="class",screamlyrics"]THIS COBWEB OF SICK BLOOD [attr="class","screamlyrics1"]OUR HONOR IS THE HOLY BLOOD | [attr="class","screambod"]"Shit.." The blue haired man mumbled out as he looked down into a deeper crevice of the cave, the next level down being even darker then where he already was. He could barely see in this damn cave where he was already let alone if he went down even further. Though the current area in the cave had no treasure at all, hell it was probably completely empty and just here for aesthetic reasons. It didn't help much that the way down to the next level was less of an actual entry way and more just a crack in the ground that he might be able to shimmy through if he tried hard enough.
Sighing to himself Aleister would unequip his spear for a moment and head over closer to the crack in the ground. He stood there for a few more moments, debating on whether or not the treasure was actually worth all the trouble, before mentally saying the equivalent of fuck it and beginning his descent into the cave.
It took a couple minutes of struggling and wiggling around but Aleister eventually slid all the way through the crack and down into the lower floors of the cave. Grumbling to himself he'd go back into his inventory and reequip the blue spear figuring he might as well be protected in case there were enemies down here. After all he did just descend down into a random cave since he had nothing to shovel out in the sand with. With the spear clutched tightly in his hand he'd go around throughout the cave once again checking for loot. |

[nospaces] [googlefont=Karla] [googlefont=Inconsolata] [attr="class","surffcursor"] [attr="class","surfftxt"] If he were a treasure chest, where would he hide? Beneath the waves? Under the dunes? In the coves and cliffs? All time-honored places to stash away pirate’s booty, and no doubt those obvious locales were already teeming with treasure hunters. [break][break] Areas to avoid, then. A faint shout rang out in the distance from some invisible source. He turned his head towards the sound’s general direction but only saw the open expanse of coastline-turned-sea, blanketed by a cloudless sky. Maybe it’d been a cry of triumph, some lucky player hitting proverbial gold. Or one of despair, another empty pit in the ground. [break][break] Sighing, Rook crouched down and studied the damp sand underneath his boots. He spotted miniature shells embedded among the grains, each one iridescent and perfectly whole. The game’s life-like rendering of detail still amazed him, but each minute wonder clued him in on some tiny discrepancy that didn’t make sense, the unreality of this simulation they couldn’t escape. [break][break] Seashells in real life were rarely so pristine. Battered by the surf and preyed upon by carnivorous marine snails, they washed up on shore fragmented and hole-ridden. [break][break] A sand crab shuffled past. He turned his attention to the crustacean, lips lifting. They were lowest-level enemy fodder, spawning more for the aesthetics than any combat value. They were cute, though. [break][break] “Hey little guy,” Rook greeted. “You wouldn’t happen to know where the hidden treasure is, would you?” [break][break] The crab skittered to a halt, swiveling its eyestalks. For a long, ludicrous moment Rook almost believed it had understood him. Then it picked up the pace, bolting away in frightened zigzags. [break][break] “Guess not.” Rook watched it go, form growing smaller and smaller until — it disappeared in the blink of an eye. [break][break] Picking himself up, he followed the tracks to the vanishing point. There by his feet was a ditch, and lying within — [break][break] Of course, the game developers hadn’t been too creative.
