one character per account. your display name should be your character's display name in the game all lowercase. additional characters may be created after the previous one(s) have ten posts each. this rule does not apply to your first two characters.
▸ 002. respecting others
if you wouldn't want to hear it, don't say it to another member. period. treat others the way you want to be treated and everything will work smoothly. if you don't like someone and you feel you have to take it on someone, take it outside of the site. professionalism is the only thing acceptable in this situation.
▸ 003. writing & rp
no god-modding and powerplaying (you shouldn't be here if you don't know what this is). posts follow a 150 word requirement, any less can restrict rewards or force punishments. we use liquid time to allow others to post in several places at once as long as there isn't any other restrictions. proper grammar and spell-checking goes without question.
▸ 004. be realistic
most of your stories in gargantua will be under your rule, including the monsters and other npcs inside. however, with great power comes great responsibility. while you have the freedom to create your own narrative, don't overdo it. don't try to create the strongest class or character that ever exists. have real weakness in your traits and role on the battlefield.
▸ 005. after creation
you may only roleplay after the acceptance of your character. after that, you can start any where you want. remember to post in the face claim and class claim or you could lose both. once you reach the appropriate post requirements be sure to post in the leveling up thread as well to receive the additional perks. if you've got to smut, fade to black and take it elsewhere.
▸ 006. activity
you need to be social and active. this doesn't mean posting every day, but it means showing up enough to let others know you're still around, even if it's just in the cbox. if you're going to be gone for long periods of time, let another player know (especially the ones you're threading with). if you're more than half way finished with a thread with rewards and your threadmate has gone inactive for more than three days, you must pm a staff member. we'll sort out the issue from there and tell you how to handle it. if you wish to wait on another member, that's fine, but once it's been seven days, staff will no longer sort it out for you.
▸ 007. death & rolling
death and rolling dice plays a major part of your stay on broken war online, so it's pretty important. essentially all you need to know is there's no going back and there's no cheating. if you can't handle having your character die permanently, don't participate in hard mode. easy as that. players caught cheating (removing rolls or deleting posts) in hard mode will suffer something far worse than death.
▸ 008. bringing back inactive character
life can get a little crazy at times, and occasionally you might not be able or around to post in activity checks that happen around the site. however, even when an account is placed under ‘inactive’ that doesn’t mean you can’t bring them back. simply post in the creation notification thread asking to be brought back and re-post your claims again (who’s who, face-claim and class claim) while you wait for staff to put your stuff back. after that, you’re ready to go!
remember: only characters who weren’t voluntarily placed in inactive can be brought back. if you put your character(s) in inactive due to lack of muse than they can’t be brought back, so keep that in mind when making new characters!
▸ 009. image requirements
follow the defined image sizes on site. avatars should be at least 75x75 and not uneven (in terms of length and width). the miniprofile hover image is 200x300. please do not use any images on the forum that may stretch the page. face claims must be of the animanga type or closely related. only non-moving images are acceptable. keep things looking pretty please.
▸ 010. have fun
have fun and keep things fun, for everyone! keep it an enjoyable experience for everyone, new players and old. hold a carefree attitude, even when you catch someone else breaking the rules. being open minded is the first step for having fun.
