 | Alright so it wasn't every day that you got a bounty request that wasn't actually a bounty...There was a distraught Zoologist running around Faywood pleading for someone to help stop the rampaging Knup without killing it. This was so far out of Rex's element it was a damn miracle he was baited by the large reward being offered. Luckily papilion wasn't to far off to give him a helping hand, this was the kind of quest that deserved a woman's touch. It was going to be damn hard for him not to blow this ugly furry thing away by the time everything was said and done. And the only other nearby helping hand was... akeno. If he could keep the woman tame enough she would at least work well for bait... She had a knack for attracting monsters and causing general mishap for everyone involved. He was just on the forest's edge, close enough to the beast that you could actually hear it stomping and roaring in the distance, and there was even a few...unsettling cries of adventures who'd been caught in it's path so far. Both of the ladies were given an invite to his party and a short explanation of what was going on. For now he merely waited for them to get here before he decided on a plan of action. There was a rather sour expression on his face as he folded his arms to his chest and stared towards the sounds...This wasn't going to be good, he knew it already. |

the world begins again Naomi had been hanging around the Faywood, separate from Carlo, when she received a message from him about some creature he wanted to catch for a bounty. After reading the summary he wrote to explain what was going on, she set off immediately to his location. There was nothing else important that she had to do, and she always wanted to be with her boyfriend when he ventured off into such trials. Often because she wanted to keep an eye on him and make sure he was watching out for himself. This type of quest was completely new to them, since they had to keep the creature alive. Naomi wondered how Carlo was going to pull that off with all the weapons and explosives he always had with him. Hopefully he wasn't going to accidentally kill it, the way he'd accidentally instigated the destruction of the airship they'd been hired to protect before. Gosh that had happened so long ago now, hadn't it? As she approached, she saw her man looking very tense and angry. They hadn't even started yet and already it looked like trouble. She jumped at the sound of another scream coming from further ahead, and glanced nervously in that direction. Already she could imagine how chaotic it was going to be once their group jumped into the fray a swell. "Come on, you need to wipe that frown off your face," she said, smiling as she looked back at her lover and pinched his cheek teasingly. "You should try and put up an optimistic front for your guild. Akeno lurked, like a fuckin' creeper, sneaking around nearby. Peeking out from around whatever she could hide behind, she carefully watched as the two met. She listened to the first words shared between them, before leaping from her hiding spot in an extravagant expression.
"Of course we can do this!" Hopping out, her arms were flung wide. It seemed all she wore nowadays was her guild attire. Although, after all, her previous clothes were much less appealing and protective, so it probably wasn't a surprise to anyone. "I am here. There ain't nothin' we can't do, eh?" The Cannibal shot a wink to Pinkie, before spinning around and... Getting down to the important business talkingses.
"So... Bounty buddy... I had a feeling you'd call me here..." Propping her foot up on a nearby branch, her body faced away from them. She stuck herself into a dramatic pose. "I told you before... I left this life... This bounty life... Behind me.... But I suppose, just this once, I can come out of retirement." Using her hand to push off her knee, she slowly turned around, as if her bones were old and rusty. "A bounty buddy never leaves another bounty buddy without help. I'm here for you in your time of need."

| Rex flinched slightly when Naomi approached, not entirely catching her entrance to his side. Her words didn't do much to ease his tension, when the soldier got into battle mode he was always as rigid as ice, “W-what? I'm just focused!” He grumbled back before leaning his face away from the pinch, a bit of red in his cheeks as he looked away, “...Are you my grandmother or somethin'? Quit with that...” He hissed.
Then came fucking Akeno. Her dramatic and surprising entrance left Rex recoiling and grabbing his rifle by the handle, though he quickly relaxed when he processed who it was who'd come flailing from the bushes. “Ugh...quit fuck'n doin' that!” He fussed under a breath before reaching his hand to ruffle the hair beneath his ponytail.
Her rant about bounty buddies and all that crap got a very blank and flat expression from the Commando and with a breath he dismissed all of it, “Sure...whatever. Look...” He turned around to face the forest and the distant growls and roars of the monster, “...We can't kill the damn thing, alright? The reward will be shot to shit. The guy said it might be looking for it's young or somethin'...So I guess we can go about this different ways...” He turned back around to face the ladies, “Bubblegums got sleeping magic...But I bet it's going to take a ton of it to knock the thing out, if it's not immune.”
There probably wasn't going to be an easy way to stop this fucker, “..Maybe we can find a way to trap it or something too...If we can we should get close enough to watch it before we pick a fight...Might help us make up our mind.” He gave a cold look towards Akeno, “So don't do anything reckless, got it?” He warned.
With that he'd shake his head and bring his rifle to his chest to hold at the ready, nudging his chin over his shoulder in a beckoning motion, “Come on, shouldn't be hard to find at least, damn thing is tearing the whole forest up.” The solder started forward in a light jog, they didn't have any time to waste.

the world begins again She grinned as he pulled away from her, and she let him. At least he no longer looked like he was about to stab someone to death with that frown on his face. At Akeno's entrance, she swiveled her head around in surprise. Unlike Carlo though, she hadn't been tensed up, ready to fight. Naomi smiled at the other's cheerful optimism. The pink haired woman seemed to have enough in her for the three of them combined. She couldn't help but giggle as Akeno started talking to Carlo, leaving him slightly dazed and speechless at her little monologue. Though Akeno can become weird and slightly disturbing at times, she did like this side of her. Turning back to Carlo, she listened to his explanation of the task at hand and nodded. "We always have my flight spell to have it stay afloat and transport it quickly too." The most ideal situation seemed to be to knock it out, then fly it back with them to wherever they were supposed to take it. At Carlo's command, she flew up into the air, keeping a higher vantage point of the whole forest while following her party below. She did see some trees being shaken or falling off to one side further ahead - signs of a large object or thing knocking them down easily. They were headed in that direction of course, going straight into danger instead of away from it, as always. kingrex akeno

"Controlled, shmonpoled, I'm as careful as it gets! Do you doubt me, gun guy?" A smirk on her obviously careless face shown through, reaching back into her bag with both hands, one pulled out the good ol' Butchy, her new bone knife. In the handle of the blade, an eye feverishly glanced about, staring at the two of them. In the other hand, a paper square. It quickly unfolded into a four foot by four foot kite, lifting Akeno just slightly off the ground.
"I'm too lazy to walk. What are we after again?" She drifted along behind them, floating left and right in a carefree manner. "Big beasty makin' a buncha' noise? How we supposed to calm it down without killing it?" Akeno pursed her lips. She knew, the best way to calm something down was to stop it's heart, but she'd been ordered otherwise. Ideas didn't come easy to her.

the world begins again Naomi glanced up in surprise at the sight of a floating Akeno, but moved on quickly to discuss other important things. A flying cannibal could probably work to their advantage, but she didn't know how well the other could control her movements that way. "It'll take a while, but I think I can if we can get it to not move for a while," she told Carlo. In theory, her ability could make any creature fly. There had never been any limits on size before. Then again she'd never tried it against something as large as this. "Moving it afterwards is going to be the bigger problem."At Carlo's warning, she looked up and widened her eyes at the approaching tree. She flew to the side, dodging it easily, then glanced down at Carlo and Akeno to make sure neither of them were hurt. As Carlo began charging in to save the lone adventurer, Naomi flew directly for the other person, knowing the other two would distract the beast for her. She swooped down to pick him up, ignoring the screams as the man had to look down from up high. While the beast was busy and distracted, she brought him further to the edge of the clearing and let him down there. The man was nearly sobbing with relief as he thanked her then started running as far away from the fight as he could. With that done, Naomi flew back to where Carlo and Akeno were. kingrex akeno

As the commando dove out of the way, and the fairy began to fly to save the damsel dude, Akeno stared in disbelief at the massive creature that had emerged. It was certainly a beautiful creature! Though, staring at creature had a downside, as a flash bang erupted in her eyes as well as the beast's.
Recoiling in her kite flight, Akeno shielded her face, her senses temporarily ringing. Slowly, she descended to the ground, eyes wide and waiting for sight to return to her again. When it did, she saw it again, the great beast in front of her.
"Hey! Pretty monster!" She spoke, yet it didn't seem to look at her. It's attention, locked on the one who had thrown the discombobulation device at it, kept it staring all grumpy at the commando. She watched the big baddie take a step back, before it prepared to charge at her guild leader.
"Hey, no! Bad monster!" Suddenly, the creature stopped. It seemed it's legs wouldn't move, keeping it stuck right where it was, turning it's head, it stared back at Akeno, who pointed a displeased finger at the creature. "You listen to me!" Her voice was somewhat parental.
It was a skill she often forgot that she had. The ability to yell at things and temporarily immobilize them. With no idea how long it would last, she gave a cautious look towards her guild leader, a careful chuckle escaping her. "Heh... Ooga-booga, I think I scared it!" Though it had been effective, in a moment, the beast would be free from her control.

the world begins again Oh god, things had suddenly gotten so chaotic in the brief moment she'd turned her attention away from it. As she returned back to the task at hand and the commotion that her party members were making, she saw Carlo clinging onto the large creature while it started bucking and trying to get rid of the pest that was on its back. Naomi had absolutely no idea what to do in this situation. She never liked animals. Tried to stay as far away from them as she could. What the hell was she supposed to do to make it stop, or calm it down or something?! Gritting her teeth, she flew in front of it and started catching its attention. It snapped its head up, glaring and growling as it tried to take a bite out of her. At that moment, she turned her back to it and flashed her colorfully bright wings. The creature blinked, stunned by the sight, and shook its head as for the second time that day it stopped moving. At least it'll give Carlo some time to take a breath and gather himself. She really hoped her boyfriend had a better plan than just holding on for dear life. kingrex akeno

Cautiously stumbling backwards, Akeno fell onto her bum. Leaning back on her arms, she stared up as the majestic, somewhat unnatural looking creature, bucked and kicked like a bull. Upon it was gun guy. Suddenly, the hesitation and circumspection evaded The Cannibal.
Lifting herself up to her feet, she applauded and cheered from the sidelines. "Wooo! Ride em' cowboy!" Within her reasoning, her limbs were also proceeding along to shout in approval, so it didn't seem that blatantly absurd to her. "Hey!" Spotting pinkie, reappearing within her vision, Akeno violently waved. "He's doing good, am I right?!"
Just as the threat of imminent danger had slipped from the thoughts, back it came, as a leg of the creature struck harshly against her core. Collapsing back into her rear, her long strands of pink hair flopped over her face. Gritting her fangs, the enjoyment had vanished the instant pain reached through her. "I WANNA PLAY TOO!" Sprinting forward, Akeno leaped up to bear hug one of the limbs of the creature. Now, she too clung to it's flinging body.

the world begins again In that brief moment that the creature stopped moving, Naomi flew back into the air, out of its reach. Hovering in the air, she gave Akeno a brief glance when she called her attention. Most of her focus was still on Carlo, checking to make sure he was doing okay. "Uh...yeah. Good," she told Akeno absentmindedly. He was still holding on at least. When he shouted about making the thing fly, she widened her eyes. "You want me to make it fly while it's still moving?!" She assumed the plan had been to do that once it was knocked out or something. Making it fly while it was still conscious seemed like such a dangerous thing to risk. Worse, she spotted Akeno running up to the beast and clinging to one of its legs as it began to buck and run around again. Having two people holding on as it started flying was not good at all. "Oh god..."With a frustrated sigh, she flew in closer and began scattering her butterfly scales all over its entire body. It took a lot of work and a lot of zipping back and forth for her to completely cover it, especially since it was still running wild and knocking into trees everywhere. A few sprinkles wasn't going to cut it. "Just hold on for a bit longer!" She told both of her party members. This was going to take a while. kingrex akeno

As much as Akeno had spent a lot of time in the game, she really didn't have that dynamic of an understanding when it came to how skills functioned. Whether the things she did drained some sort of internal energy counter, or were on long cooldowns, none of these things really came into account for her.
As the leg she clung to contracted an extended, she was thrown from the flinging limb. Tumbling onto the ground, The Cannibal was quick back onto her feet, but without much insight on what to do next...
"I mean... I guess I can try again." She spoke to her right foot, one who didn't speak on it's own very often. Looking up, calling upon her Phoenix Wright posturing, she shouted once more. "OBJECTION! STOP RIGHT THERE, BIG MONSTER THINGY!" With a hand on her hip, and a finger pointed accusationally, the joints of the kicking beast slowed, before coming to a, once more very temporary, but complete stop. "Do what you're doing fast, he'll be movin' again in a second."
