| Rex was starting to sweat, and his heavy panting was sign enough he was fucking exhausted trying to keep this fucking monster under control while it thrashed and freaked the hell out. He heard Papilion in the back of his mind, something about holding on for just a bit longer, sadly he was already out of energy.
But just as he loosened his grip, Akeno jumped in front of the beast to taunt it again, causing it to sieze up like a fucking browser trying to load to much porn at once. It was the break Rex needed to steady his grip and catch his breath. Hopefully Naomi would use this brief pause to sprinkle those fairy sparkles or whatever the fuck they were on it too.
Akeno's taunt ended and sure enough the Knupping fucker started to thrash about, but this time it slowly started to drift off into the air, flailing about without the stomping grip it had moments before. Almost comically you could see the panic in it's face, and it made awkward bawking barks as it aimlessly drifted.
The Commando got himself from it's back and kicked towards the ground, grapple hook still attached to the things neck had turned it into a giant floating furry balloon. With a flat and annoyed expression he tugged on the thing, guiding it towards him, “Better settle the hell down or else...” He warned towards it before looking at the women with a thumbs up, “Ain't pretty, but it'll work.”
And with that he'd lead them towards the forest's edge where he'd met the bounty giver, more than happy to have this little shit show over with. “Hey..if it gets antsy, do that taunt thing again, Akeno.” He suggested before looking for Papilion, “And make sure it keeps float'n...or we're done for.” It was pretty self explanatory, but a little pressure never hurt anyone!

'cause tonight's the night the world begins again Naomi never stopped scattering butterfly scales this whole time, just flying as fast as she could around and around the large creature. She was starting to get dizzy in fact, but she held on. Carlo and Akeno had to go through much worse at the moment. When it suddenly froze and held still, she nearly flew past it, expecting him to keep going in the same pattern that he had fallen into. There was no time for questions or for wondering what happened, and she decided to use this very big opportunity to really get her scales all over it. The explanation came when Akeno called out to her and urged her to go on. "Thanks Akeno!" Finally, she was starting to see her efforts paying off. Without a hold on the ground, the creature began lifting up to the air helplessly. With a sigh of relief, she smiled and moved down to where Carlo was hanging from it. "It'll stay afloat as long as you don't bump it into anything." As she said this she glanced skeptically at the cluster of trees they had to go through to get back. "We'll have to actually fly over the forest to make sure it doesn't happen. You two can ride on it and I'll steer," she suggested. kingrex akeno

It seemed the repeat usage of that immobilization skill had done quite a number on The Cannibal. Soon after her second shout, she found herself out of breath. With her torso leaned down and hands on her knees, she heavily panted. Finally, after a few deep breaths, she raised her head... And that was when...
"EUREKA! IT HAS GONE AIRBORNE!" With arms flung in the air, Akeno cheered as if watching the Wright brothers take flight for the first time. "Well done, Pinkie! You sure have a lot of tricks up your sleeves! Haha!" She clapped carelessly, eyes glued to the floating monstrosity.
"Ah, bout that..." She chuckled, as Pinkie suggested they ride the creature. "I'm a crazy bitch, but I'm not that crazy, ya hear?" Wafting a hand carelessly in the air, Akeno trailed beneath it. "I'll follow you two on the ground. Not too keen on that thing buckin' me off again."

'cause tonight's the night the world begins again Really, what was wrong with being up in the air? It wasn't like she'd drop them or they'd die if they fell! She'd keep an eye out and make sure none of them fell to their deaths. Still, when both Carlo and Akeno refused to follow her idea, she gave a resigned sigh and flew up along with the creature. No one in her guild appreciated the wonders of being able to fly. At least up here, with no obstacles or trees, branches and vines getting in the way, it was a lot easier to move about. Carlo looked silly holding a makeshift leash that connected to the large creature in the air like some sort of boy with his balloon. Completely unnecessary if one were to ask her, since she could simply push the creature in wherever direction she wanted it to go, but he seemed determined to hold onto it so she let him. Wouldn't want to waste his efforts holding onto the creature for so long after all. It hovered uncomfortably, trying to find purchase on the ground and not getting it. Naomi kept her distance from it, refusing to touch it unless it was necessary. kingrex akeno

Following along in the shadow of what appeared to be the party's flying bison (similar to Appa from Avatar), Akeno was oddly silent. Usually, she might be exclaiming something, or finding herself baffled by some odd mechanic of the world that she had not previously realized. No, she was somehow lost in contemplation.
For simple thoughts came easy to her, more complex ones took exponentially more effort for the girl. Her mental inhibitions truly hindered her thought process quite a bit. The topic she thought on was about the game, and whether it truly was one. After all, her memories of the real world were so fragmented, she might as well have been born in the game.
If those memories never returned to her... Well, then this game would be her home. Her birthplace. Would she truly want to leave such a place? It was a place that somewhat accepted her, a world that made her seem alive. A question came to her. She glanced towards her guild leader. "What is the real world like?" It was sad that she could not answer such a thing.

| Rex had been brooding, and the only conversation he gave either of them was a small mutter under his breath about the creature as it tugged at him from time to time. He was being his usual grumpy self up until Akeno asked him a rather stupid question. A quick glare was filtered towards the woman before Carlo calmed himself, and gave her a flat look.
“...A lot better than this shit.” He grumbled under a breath before looking away, sharp teeth somewhat snarled out from behind his lips. It wasn't like he was living some kind of lavish existence outside the game, but this experience of being trapped in a fantasy prison of life or death quickly reminded him that things could always...always be worse.
When the group finally got to the Zoologist, they'd be faced with a rather confused looking man in glasses, “Eh...Where is it..exactly?” The NPC asked with a swallow before the slouching soldier pointed a lazy finger upwards. The bounty giver instantly flailed back and whimpered, “Y-you made it fly?! Seriously?!” He exclaimed.
“...Yeah but it ain't staying up there forever...where are we putting him?” Rex asked harshly. The Zoologist was still wide eyed and silent in shock before quickly flicking back to reality, “Oh-yes-yes! Hang on a moment!” He answered back nervously before rushing away through some shrubs, “Come this way!”
Rex flicked a look over his shoulder at Akeno, and then up towards Naomi if she could see him, nudging them forward with the floating Knup. After a short walk they'd be in a clearing with a couple of large cages and much smaller Knups inside...younglings from the look of it. “A-ah...I would put it down over here! I was able to track down it's offspring, they were lost in a dried up riverbank...” The man explained before moving to open up the cages.
“...This is ridiculous, if that thing gets pissed off again I'm killing it...” The soldier muttered to himself before he yanked on his Grapple hook, causing the device to whiz and grind as it pulled the bear-owl-deer thing to the ground to rest in a large thump. Hopefully Naomi had a way to remove her ability from it as well. Would it really calm down now that it was greeted with it's young again?
If so, Rex sure as hell was getting out of there shortly after that.

'cause tonight's the night the world begins again From high up above, Naomi couldn't really hear or join in on the conversation that Akeno was trying to have with Carlo. She was busy keeping an eye on the creature, making sure it didn't get stuck on anything or hit anything that would send it falling back down to the ground - and possibly on top of both her lover and Akeno. Eventually they made it to the client's home. Naomi left all the talking to Carlo, more than happy to sit back and wait. At a gesture from him, she followed the group over to a clearing. It didn't even look secure or fortified. What if the creature decided it wanted to run out of here? Well she supposed that wasn't her problem anymore. Carlo began to pull on the leash, slowly bringing the creature down. Naomi moved over to the top and hovered there, making sure it didn't land on its back or on its side and cause a ruckus. As soon as its legs set down on the ground, it stayed there. With their job done, she floated down to where Carlo was and walked alongside him as he left. kingrex akeno

And just as it had began, it seemed the job was already over. Before Akeno could even feel like she had done anything. Brushing that aside though, she had more things to ponder. Jobs were jobs, you finish them and they're done, but lifetimes were a bit different.
She wondered about the answer she was given. A lot better, huh? But what was better? Was there no fighting? Because Akeno really enjoyed a good fighting every now and again? Was there less scary monsters? Well, she could do with less scary monster. But at least they made things interesting!
Akeno wondered, was the real world really that much better, or just that much less exciting? Of course, she couldn't answer these questions. With a sigh, observing the completion of the mission, she waved to the pair she'd worked with, skipping away without a word. Phew, another day down. Akeno had a lot of thinking to try and do.
