As she arrived, Chirp wondered briefly what the Sacred Groves were normally supposed to look like. Y'know, when they weren't infected by creepy mushroom men. Ultimately, it didn't really matter to her as much as what she had come here to do, the thought of which caused her to grin from ear to ear. Sure, raid bosses were a thrill, but sometimes it was good for the soul to give something a good old fashioned beat down. Getting paid to do that was just the icing on the cake.
Hm, maybe they could get cake after they were done? She'd have to ask Aleister after they were through.
Either way, today was going to be a treat, and the slugger bounced on her feet for a second while she waited for the man to catch up, grinning like a wolf in a barn. It hadn't been too long ago that she'd asked if he wanted to do the quest and he had agreed, and she wasn't quite sure how long it'd take for him to get there, but she was pumped and ready to get to the killing.

Which in this case just meant that he wasn't going to show up incredibly late for something. With the idea of not being late to their little date quest thing in mind Aleister would show up only a minute or two after Chirp was there waiting. Coming up behind the slugger he'd wrap his arms around her waist, picking her up for a stupidly big hug and spinning her around.
Setting Chirp back down on the ground Aleister couldn't help but to start grinning like an idiot again, leaning in to give her a quick peck on the cheek before he actually said something. "Hey Birdie, you ready to go?" He blurted out pretty happily as he looked around the area. Personally Aleister had never actually seen the sacred grove for himself but hey there was a first time for everything wasn't there? Twirling his spear around idly Aleister would clear his throat again before blurting out, "So, we gotta fight mushrooms right?"

Chirp yelped in surprise as she was lifted up, and the moment she recognized it was Aleister she relaxed, even if she couldn't keep herself from kicking at the air, just a little, even as she burst into laughter. It was fun once she knew she wasn't being lifted by some monster, but someone she knew and trusted. She laughed again when he set her down, turning and letting her baseball bat rest on her shoulder as she faced him with a grin.
"I was born ready!" She said, unsure if Aleister had ever seen her in a fight outside of raid battles. Ooh, this could be fun - she was pretty sure he didn't know the full extent of her abilities! The very thought had her grin widen impishly. She'd already been itching for a good throwdown, and now she just had the added incentive of showing off.
She nodded, leaning in to peck him on the cheek and bouncing twice on her feet before heading down towards the mushroom men at a full speed sprint, "hope you're ready!" She called over her shoulder with wild abandon, not caring if she alerted the mushroom men to her presence - they didn't stand a chance! "race ya!"

We gotta kick some mushroom ass babe." At her asking in return if he was also ready Aleister couldn't help but to blurt that out before grinning like some kind of idiot. Which was something he was just prone to doing any time that he was around Chirp at all so far. While it was true that he hadn't seen Chirp in a fight yet he didn't have a single worry for her safety at the moment. These quests usually weren't as deadly as a raid, hell Aleister had even had a little contest on who could beat the most goblins in a previous quest that he did.
Chuckling a bit as she took off running down towards the mushrooms after pecking him on the cheek Aleister would stand there for a moment and rub his cheek. Just trying to get another quick laugh out of Chirp in case that she saw it. However instead of running down after her to race Aleister would hang back a bit and give her a head start. Not that he thought she needed one to win the race or anything like that, he just wanted to see what she could actually do in fights. Aleister figured that if he saw her fighting up close it might get rid of a bit of his anxiety about something happening to her.
Once a few seconds were up though the blue haired man would take off running down after her. Yelling out a quick "Hey no fair that was cheating I wasn't ready to run!" Trying to play off the real reason that he was waiting around to run, though he didn't care about alerting the mushrooms either.

Chirp saw Aleister rubbing in her kiss, and it made a laugh burst out of her. That did nothing to slow her down, though. Eye on the prize, the woman rushed right into the fray of a group of mushroom men, pounding her baseball bat into the ground. Without any other warning, a wrestling ring rose up out of the ground, trapping the cluster of 3 mushroom monsters in with her while she beamed.
Several of the monsters began to shamble towards her, but she wasn't worried. She neatly bashed one over the head, making short work of the thing with her baseball bat. Even as it burst into pixels, Chirp stood back and laughed openly. One of the mushroom men had attacked her, but she wasn't worried; she had more tricks up her sleeve, after all!
Grinning, and without a bit of hesitation, she charged towards one of the mushroom men, getting ready to show off; after all, Aleister had probably caught up by now! The real show was about to begin. It had been a while since she'd been able to vent out her frustration on small mobs like this without worrying about some bigger boss. She was ready for it.

[attr="class",screamlyrics"]THIS COBWEB OF SICK BLOOD [attr="class","screamlyrics1"]OUR HONOR IS THE HOLY BLOOD | [attr="class","screambod"]Once the wrestling ring was summoned into existence by Chirp and trapped a couple enemies Aleister would stop in place where he was running. Staring in confusion for a moment before starting to chuckle, despite the fact that the ring made him stop in his tracks he actually thought it was pretty cool. It just caught him off guard for a moment. Back on the outside world Aleister was a pretty big wrestling fan and instantly fell in love with Chirp's new skill.
Though he couldn't let her have all the fun, activating his Dawn-Walker skill the man would launch himself up into the air. Soaring up until it got to the point where he couldn't be seen in game anymore. As he flew down through the air his spear would glow with a white energy until he landed right on top of one of the mushroom's heads, a white light flashing through the area as he hopped off the now mess of pixels that used to be a mushrooms.
Not even bothering to see what element that his spear gotten from the skill, which was the crystal element, which was just an upgraded version of the rock element. The spear was now made out of solid pink crystal that Aleister hadn't even noticed. Making his way over to the ring that Chirp summoned Aleister would lean over the apron to watch her fight. Only to end up winking and calling you "Hey, you could wrestle me anytime!" With that yelled out he'd use his Elemental Form skill, turning his hair, eye and armor all the same pink that his spear had previously been. Which he yet again still hadn't noticed the color of.

Chirp was thrilled to be in a fight, even if it was one where she felt like she had all the control. She wasn't paying as much attention to where Aleister was as she was to riding the heat of the moment, and when a mushroom ambled towards her again she whipped around her to lock her baseball bat around the thing's torso, lifting it up against her small frame before leaning back and letting the monster fall first into the mat of the wrestling ring. The monster burst into pixels practically upon contact.
It was then that she heard Aleister's comment and grinned his way as she hopped up to her feet, bouncing away from the encroaching mushroom man. "Any time, Slugger, you and me." She chirped, grinning from ear to ear when she saw the color of his staff. "That's my favorite color! It looks good on you!" In no time at all, she swung to hit the mushroom man in the face again. "Say, you can get in next time if you want. Only enemies that can't cross over, but it should fade soon now." With all that talking over, she caught her breath and swung in with a hard hit to the last remaining mushroom man. When the wrestling ring began to fade away, he was already at low health.

[attr="class",screamlyrics"]THIS COBWEB OF SICK BLOOD [attr="class","screamlyrics1"]OUR HONOR IS THE HOLY BLOOD | [attr="class","screambod"]The whole time that Chirp fought off the mushrooms in the wrestling ring Aleister would be standing on the sidelines cheering her on. Though he would stop and just throw a couple basic attacks the way of some mushrooms that were trying to attack him from behind, collecting some poison element charges for his spear while he did it. However once Chirp wrapped her bat around one of the mushrooms and suplexed the fungi Aleister would actually jump up and down, letting out a cheer for her. He thought it was just an insanely cool thing that she did and was actually a bit jealous of her classes skills at this point.
Shooting the slugger another wink after what she said Aleister blurted out a quick, "Anytime you want Birdie, just name the time and place~" Though he was a bit embarrassed to just blurt that out it was a bit too late to take it back. At this point Aleister knew the woman good enough to know exactly what her favorite color was, he didn't need to check what color his hair and everything else turned now. Knowing that the majority of his body was now pink Aleister would rub at the back of his neck before blurting out "Ehhh as long as you think it looks good on me I'm okay with that."
As the ring finally began to fade away however the pink haired man would back up a bit from the ring and point his spear at the last remaining mushroom man in the ring with Chirp. Once the ring was actually gone he'd use his Radial Burst skill to fire off a blast of poisonous energy at the mushroom that had previously been in the ring, shattering it into a bunch of pixels. "Dooon't worry I still got your back."

Chirp grinned when the mushroom man burst into pixels, winking appreciatively at Aleister. "I know you do, slugger. I'm not worried." Now that she was on the same footing as the rest of the other mushrooms, Chirp wasted no time in summoning some linebackers and sending them off to soften up the mushroom men for her.
It was freeing to know he had her back and she could just let loose, to be honest. Chirp ran full into close combat range, out for blood. With the linebackers not having much trouble with keeping the next cluster occupied, no raid boss to rend them to shreds, she was easily able to isolate one and bash into it with her bat. Looking back over her shoulder, she called out to Aleister, "You coming?"
The moment she did, the mushrooms being pelted by the linebackers released a puff of toxic pollen or - well, something like that, she wasn't a botanist or whatever. She coughed, backing up as she noticed her health starating to drop, but it was slow and she was nearly at full. It was probably the kind to fade over time, so all she had to do was outlast it.
Frowning, she swung her bat harder against the enemy in front of her. "Just be careful."

It felt kind of nice to know that she wasn't worried because he had her back. He knew that she was one tough cookie and could probably look out for herself but the idea that she had someone she could actually rely on made Aleister feel just a tiny bit better about himself. "Huh? Oh yeah I'll be right there Birdie!" The pink haired man called out in response as Chirp glanced over her shoulder at him. He was having a bit of fun seeing what she could do still, plus the view from back here wasn't thaaaat bad.
Raising an eyebrow slightly Aleister would stare in confusion at what the poison stuff the mushrooms spat out at Chirp and the linebackers could be. He saw that her health wasn't going down that much and wasn't too worried about that, it didn't seem to be too powerful of an attack. "I'll be alright don't worry just uhhh, just back up a bit!" Aleister yelled out as he once again used his dawn-walker skill.
In a flash of light Aleister would come down on the Mushroom that was in front of chirp that she had been previously smacking away at with her bat. As the mushroom was reduced to pixels Aleister glanced down at his spear to see what the new element was. Noticing that the weapon was now just made out of wood again and had some green foliage growing off the weapon it was easy enough to tell that he sprouted the wood element from that attack. Pointing the spear forward Aleister would look over his shoulder at Chirp and shoot her another wink, only to then fire off another Radial Burst attack at the mushrooms in front of him, using up the wood element that he just gained.

chirp nodded at Aleister's assurances, backing up when he told her to and catching sight of his attacks. she watched the mushroom farther than her release a similar spore cloud. The health bar on her summon started to go down faster - so it was an effect that stacked. well, that was tricky, but ... her health had stopped dropping, so it seemed like the kind of thing that only would have become a problem if she had tried to handle the quest alone without any summons. tricky for another player, maybe, but they would be fine. she glanced at the way his weapon had changed, and then changed again.
"hey, how does that work, anyway?" she finally asked. "I mean, I've seen it happen enough times, but is there a kind of strict science to it or is it luck?" the slugger blinked, remembering that some people got touchy when she asked about that kind of thing. "i mean, if you don't mind." she looked over, watching the linebackers hammer out the last of the damage on what was left over between both of their efforts. they didn't need her, so she stepped back and glanced out towards where the rest of the mushrooms might be.

Aleister muttered out after Chirp asked how his ability works. Deciding to get a little visual example for it he'd thrust his spear out at a few more of the mushroom men, stopping once he had three more poison elements built up in the spear. Figuring that her linebackers could hold them off for a few more moments Aleister made his way over to Chirp, holding the weapon out so she could get a better look. While the spear still looked to be made out of the pink crystals Chirp would be able to see three circles in the middle of the spear that seemed to be filled with a sickly green liquid.
"Honestly it's pretty simple. Every monster has an element that I like drain from it when i hit them with my spear, those mushrooms give me poison. And I can fuse two together to make a new one.." He said as he used the fusion skill to combine the two poison elements together. Two of the green spheres on the spear would drain completely before he flipped the spear over to show Chirp the underside of the weapon, where three more spheres were. One of the spheres barely noticeable as it blended in perfectly with the crystal of the weapon, the other being a darker green then before but otherwise looking identical to the previous poison. "And then I get uhh Toxic, its basically just a stronger version of poison. That Dawn-Walker thing I do though thats super flashy and all that crap where I fly up? That one gives me a random element so that parts just all luck."
After rambling that out Aleister couldn't help but just start grinning at Chirp again, seemingly happy to be talking about how his ability actually works for once.

when aleister went ahead and began to confide in her and even demonstrate, chirp relaxed and smiled. with her summons being pretty reliable at keeping the mushroom men busy, she was free to pay attention to aleister's movements and attacks. at least, better than in any high-stress situations where so many little details were lost in the heat of the moment. she hated thinking about how much she probably didn't know simply because she'd never thought to ask, even if smack in the middle of a quest wasn't the traditional place to start asking these questions.
it felt less dangerous than most of the places they usually found themselves in, somehow.
she reached out when he was close to her, letting her fingers graze against the top of his hand. when he was done speaking, she let her eyes drift from the spear, leaning up to press her mouth against his only briefly before letting her feet touch the ground again. her mouth perked up in a smile. "that's really neat. i wish i had any kind of elements or stuff, but i guess my class is pretty fun."
the last mushroom of the cluster burst into pixels, and she pulled her hand away from where it had rested on the man's chest to look. they'd cleared most of the immediately available enemies, and so the linebackers faded away. "hm. how many more do you think there are?" she asked, but it was absently as she let her bat rest against her shoulder and walk forward. the moment she caught sight of another small cluster, she threw a baseball into the air and shot it towards the monsters.
it shouldn't be too much longer.

It seemed to be pretty much the only thing he consistently did when he was around Chirp. But he just couldn't help it, her being here just made him so happy. It even gave him a reason to get out of this game instead of just waiting for something to off him. Once the kiss happened however Aleister would blink for a moment before leaning down to give her a deeper one for the moment. Breaking it off he'd chuckle a bit and look over at the mushrooms "You think those mushroom things know what we did?" He said while still chuckling.
"Honestly I don't think theres too many of those mushrooms left, it shouldn't take us that long. Your class is still really cool by the way, as long as I didn't have to wear a dress i'd totally trade you classes." The pink haired man said with a little smirk on his face, pointing his spear out at some of the mushroom men while firing off a Radial Burst attack at the fungi.

Chirp grinned, rushing up towards a mushroom man once Aleister had hit it with a radial burst and swinging to just hit him as hard as she could with her bat in quick succession. Hopping back, she wasn't phased when she saw four more stumbling towards her after the first burst into pixels. They were so slow, she couldn't be worried if she tried. Laughing, she called back over her shoulder, "That'd be something, huh? I guess it depends on how advanced their AI is, but I don't know much about that to begin with."
Was it too late to bring the conversation back to that? She wasn't sure.
She was tempted to tease aleister about his ability to pull off the look, but decided against it. She'd rather just have fun than poke fun at what might be a sore spot. "You don't think there are too many more, right?" She asked, stretching before hitting another over the top of its ... was that its head? Did it count? She wasn't sure. "Do you think we could get some cake later? All this fun is making me hungry." It helped that she didn't have to worry about calories in the game, that was for sure.
