[attr="class","bw-r-img"] [attr="class","bw-r-name"]AEQUOR, THE ABYSSAL KING [attr="class","bw-r-fade"] [attr="class","bw-r-border"] [attr="class","bw-r-bg"] [attr="class","bw-desc"] descriptionwhen azzar awoke he brought forth a thunderous rumble through the earth, shifting crusts and pouring molten liquid from the wound in which he tore from. when the dragon fell it triggered something deep within the sea, where light couldn’t reach and pressure crushed the weakest beast. its claws found the land mass in which its brother had slept, abandoning its rest and finding home above the waves. the lava pressed against the dragon's body, steam rising as it cooled, stilling into jagged, blackened rocks. this would now be its home, its bed; where it's fallen other half once lay rested and alive. swings of its tail slam into the water, rippling wave after wave, growing in size as they travel closer to land. the sea in which it once slept is but another part of its body, and from it falls rampage and destruction. every player within the game was alerted of aequors awakening, calling for help from any and all willing participants to slay the beast. surrounding areas within the great sea (hooks cove, sanctum shores, etc) are experiencing a drastic rise in tide, flooding and advancing waves against their coastal regions. any players arriving at hooks cove will be able to fast travel to aequors island, placing them on its shores a short ways from the boss. aequor will attack at random times throughout the raid and target specific players. any players who die during hard mode will have a description written about their death in these attacks if a player doesn't write it out first. feel free to post anywhere and as many times as you want between attacks, don't let it limit you unless you want to. you can freely attack him directly or save the npcs he targets. if participating in hard mode, simply roll twice in your first two posts (one roll per post). both of your rolls (combined) must reach a number higher than 30 in order to survive aequors assault. if anyones rolls add up to 30 or below they will die.new requirements• staff characters may not receive the highest roll rewards. if a staff members character qualifies for the rewards, the runner-up member character will receive it. requirements• post three times in this thread with at least two posts in between • mention two other players and what they're doing • post with as many characters as you'd like, you still need two posts between • characters created after the start of this thread cannot participate, unless it is your first character • first two players don't need to mention anyone in first post • give a quick summary of your post within your post somewhere (make it good) • feel free to keep posting after three posts • do not edit or delete posts without staff permission (or you'll be punished) • if your character leaves, you do not receive rewards • you do not have to participate in hard mode • if participating in hard mode, roll in your first two posts • use [*roll] to roll, but remove the asterisk • you must say in your first post if you are posting in hard mode • ends 05/18 [attr="class","bw-r-mode"] defense

[attr="class","bw-border"] [attr="class","bw-bg"] [attr="class","bw-title"]ATTACK ONE - RISING TIDE [attr="class","bw-desc"]when the arrival of players began to increase the great dragon stopped the terraforming taking place on its late brothers nest, neck twisting to stare at the movement at the shore. they sought to end its life the same way it did theirs; primal instinct dictating that only one would survive this encounter. it had already battered the coasts far from its eyes, sent waves that clawed the land and dragged anything to its depths. it knew, deep down, that each thrash of its tail to the sea had done its job.
however, now it must stop to focus on the new threats that loom near. like its brother before it there was no fear, no hint of hesitation as more players began to portal onto its island. its home. this was its land and its sea.
with a loud roar aequor let its voice be heard, shaking the ground beneath them all. a war cry; a signal. the waters around the island responded, crashing waves hitting the rocks and quickly advancing closer inland. the area in which the players now teleported to feared to be lost in the tide, the current hidden just beneath the surface ready to drag any unlucky people out to sea. aequors wanted its prey closer, where its claws and teeth could tear into the players with far more ease.
advance further inland to avoid being taken by the current, or take your chances within the sea.

kintoki was listening -- he was, but the sound of waves had drawn his attention from the person before him. his ears perked in a different direction, away from where they stood and oddly, it called out to him. he'd recognized that sound anywhere and without much thought, he raced away at full speed towards it. he had yearned for it for far too long that he simply could not slow down even for a second. not even minato's pleading could bring him back to the shelter they had stood under when the great fire dragon was loose. he would apologize later, he decided.
kintoki stopped abruptly once his loss of breath had caught up to him, he bent over his knees breathing heavily. the air tasted of salt and felt chilly just the way he remembered it. before him was a wild ripple of waves clearly disturbed by a new force. that alone wasn't enough to deter him from jumping in with a grin. with a splash, he was quickly embraced by the roaring waves and bitter cold penetrating under his skin. he was no stranger to the sensation and allowed it to overcome him for a brief moment as he was suspended in the dark waters.
it was the sound of thunder -- no, a roar that alerted him of a new danger beyond the waters. he could even feel the tremors of the great creature through the waves. without much thought, he began to swim towards the island even with the waves pushing against him. well, that was nothing new for kintoki considering he practically lived at sea for most of his life. hailing from generations of fisherman, he knew better than to swim recklessly. still, he couldn't bring himself to get out of the sea now that he was finally in it after being deprived for the past three years.
love can drive a man insane.

There was something to be said for running towards something rather than away from it.
Minato remembered being accused of leaving because he was running away from what was expected of him, and even now he wasn't sure if that was true. now, though, he was certain in what he was doing even as his heart pounded in his chest. he was chasing someone, the love of his life, possibly straight into death. he yelled at him, screamed his real name, but nothing worked. his breathing grew heavy - he wasn't built for the running itself, let alone spending all of his breath on trying to bring him back. did kintoki even know what was waiting for him? inari would forgive him; he knew he was running towards his love of the sea, and not away from him.
please, please, he begged for the sea to take him instead.
he watched as toki rushed straight into the ocean without a second thought, leaving his weapon behind. his eyes widened, and his breath caught in his throat, and there were no more thoughts or begging to follow. inari had never been meant for the sea, and yet he dove for the discarded sword and then dove again into the ocean after his love. just as quickly, the artificial waves pushed him back against the sea, hard, and as his breath was knocked out of him the water replaced it. he had to fight against strained, burning muscle to regain his breath, but he was undeterred, chasing after him again.
it hadn't occurred to him before, in his life, how heavy it felt to push his limbs against water rather than through it, but there was nothing that could convince him to turn back.

The Cannibal watched quietly as kintoki and inari dove into the waters, wide eyed, with her hands behind her back. Glancing around, she wondered if anyone else was going to follow suit, as the waves came crashing in. The waters, beginning to reach towards her toes, triggered Akeno to begin walking backwards, cautiously.
"Yeah, I don't know how I feel about this either, righty and left palmy." Righty and left palmy, the two most reasonable of her limbs, in her crazed mind. "Hush, lefty, you dumbass." She brought the back of her left foot up, to smack it with her left hand, harshly scolding the poor extremity. "Foolish, foolish! You should be more like righty! He's not trying to get us killed."
Looking up, she didn't know what to do, kind of just waiting for someone else to take the lead here. Twiddling her thumbs, she waited for another person to show up, not really thinking she should dive in the water after the other two. She just continued stepping back, as the water inched it's way after her feet.
Summary: Akeno watched the other two dive in, waiting for someone else to arrive with some sort of plan.

kintoki took another large breath as a wave washed over his head, sending him under until it passed by. he swam back up with ease, gasping for a bit more of air before continuing his strokes. he stopped mid-stroke when his ears picked up a voice behind, muffled by the sounds of the harsh ocean. he turned around, making sure to keep himself afloat as he squinted into the distance to figure out the source. to his surprise, inari was swimming towards him to the best of his abilities with a katana hugged to his chest.
kintoki cursed under his breath, paddling back towards his love at a steady pace. he had exerted enough energy earlier and any more would be dangerous. his heart nearly dropped when a wave pulled him under from behind. in his panic, he shot up the the surface immediately with a gasp, frantically looking around. he feared that it would've taken inari under as well and to his surprise, it stabilized into a small rocking motion when it came up to the male. he exhaled sharply, making his way over right next to him.
kintoki said nothing only frowning at minato's reckless behavior. "go back and wait for me on shore," he ordered sternly. he snatched the katana from gentle hands to slide it snugly underneath his sash. it weighed him down, though not enough to cause him any trouble yet. he opened his mouth to scold him, but closed when a louder sound washed over his silence. this time, it was a wave powerful enough to take them both under. kintoki reached over for minato's hand, pulling him close before shutting his eyes tightly to brace for the impact.

 Initially, leaping through the portal was sickening. Unlike the styling of movement sickness, something else rumbled from within the bruiser's gut. It was the sudden change of scene, the new brisk chill of the sea that swallowed the island whole. An untapped fury left unchecked until the players would make work of this week's raid boss, just like the others before him. Fins skipping through the violent waves decorated the scene that rapidly became third dimensional. The feeling of something bigger than just a couple attackers. Steam shot outward from the fighter's gauntlets as he raised them into position. His eyes darted from an individual on the island to the others making the swim. This was awkward. How was one to fight a monster who took the sea? It definitely made things interesting. But just like a fish without water, Gauntlet didn't plan to be the man lost at sea. A target without an advantage, without a defense. His legs would stabilize the rest of his weight in the sand. He'd wait for an actual target before pressing on. Summary: Got to the island. Sitting on the edge of the island looking at others. Waiting for something to hit. Hard mode on. @everyone

늑대 Yet again the chance arose to prove his medal in battle. Towns had gotten used to the threat of constant danger, and when the first mutterings of danger along the coast started. He wouldn't miss it for the world, the idea he might end up becoming a thrill junkie was starting to become more prominent. Maybe he just didn't really give a damn about his life, whatever the case was it didn't stop him. Swiftly making his way to where this sea dragon dwell'd along the way he message a few people he actually trusted. ZODIAC , kingrex as well as index and Oasis would be notified with the following private message. 'there is something cause a mess on the sea, i'm going to check it out.'
'i would really appreciate your assistance, please.'His race out towards the ocean would halt as he watched two...odd players swimming towards a island. Whatever the case was he noticed a indication on his interface. "Are you guys going to tha-" His sentence was shortly cut off as he mindlessly hit the indicator and swiftly was teleported to the island he was going to mention. It took a moment as Towns caught himself, only to watch a large light dragon loom nearby. It's steaming form a stark contrast to the blackened rocks that surrounded it. It's large maw opened before him as it echo'd across the entire island and surely heard towards those along the coast line. "Shit..shit...shit!" Towns muttered as he quickly took cover behind a large gutting rock part of this now jagged landscape. As he readied action towards this thing, he watched the sea around him beginning to grow vicious and agitated. Slowly it would begin to edge closer and closer, in a bit of a panic Towns opened up his messenger again to the same folks he had talked to previously. 'large fucking dragon. come to the coast.'
'it will teleport, hurry.'He took to closing his messenger as he attempted to run more inland towards the beast. Doing the best with what he could as Towns attempted to find cover till more people arrived. like calmer waves lapping at a different shoreline, tensai returned to him. inari glanced back over his shoulder, noticing other players on the shoreline; no one had followed them. he knew they were right to do so.
the salt water burned at his eyes, blurring his vision. toki's sword was returned to him, where it belonged and could protect him, and that freed inari's hands to reach towards the front of his shirt, his face, anything. "i thought i'd lost you," he choked, knowing that toki was upset with him for following. the demand was met with a look of shock and quiet, before a rare furrowing of his brow. "not unless you come back with me!" he retorted without wasting a second more.
not again, not again, not again.
the words clawed in the deepest part of his throat, finding a life of their own as the scaled to the back of his tongue before he finally released them like a whip. "i'm never leaving you again." once was enough. once, before any of this had happened, he had thought he had chosen between tensai and his own future, running towards the latter rather than away from the former. had the other not followed him, would they even be here now?
would toki have, at least, been spared?
before he could speak again, desperate to convince the man to do the smart thing, he was pulled close. the response to the touch was habit but felt born of instinct, turning into the man's arms and clinging close. the wave was hard and heavy, enveloping him like a burial mound, and even the thought of lifting his limbs seemed impossible as he opened his eyes, unsure what was up or what was down. then, even safe in toki's arms, something hit against his back, without life and thus without any mercy.
despite all of his knowledge, all of his will, he screamed in pain. rather than sound answering his ears, water answered his lungs for a second time.
hardmode: enabledinari noticed all of the people (@everyone) still on the shore over his shoulder, before arguing with kintoki to try to get him to join them with him - then he got hit with a wave. time to die. WX2w9R7u

More and more players were arriving. Just like any other raid before this one. However, as more players showed up on the scene, the sea began to rise just ever so slightly. If it continued like this, the small group would be in a world of hurt. No one in the area seem equipped for aquatic combat. Not even the swimmers who took to the waters. It was a joke for a bruiser, even more so for a common attacker. There was no winning, there was only survival. Going head-first wouldn't work here, so the attacker would attempt to play his part in other methods. “Hey.” Gauntlet's voiced reached for ZODIAC as he walked by. “What do you think we should do?” Giant fists appeared to turn the player into the utility's direction. Just as the the question left his lips, a quake surged over the island. A fierce quake echoed through the island's soil as a vertical wave spawned from the ocean's depths. Fins on the outside of the tail designed the water into some sort of projectile that fired into the group's direction. A direction with no defender in sight. With a hasty maneuver, Gauntlet raised his power fists to block his upper body and anyone behind him. Fate would become the deciding factor. Summary: Asked ZODIAC what they should do. Boss flailed a projectile water attack at him (and anyone near). Is attempting to block it with his fists. o|_oVZVa

[attr="class","saschaunshifted"] Walking through the streets of the Market District, the Beat Builder would step in sync with his music as it blared through his earphones. Dancing as he took each step, he would close his eyes and dance, walking forward. Suddenly he would get an invitation to fast travel, and accidentally accept it while movin’ and grovin’. So, as he danced forward he would take a step and suddenly feel something different from the crowded streets of the market district.
Slowly going to open his eyes he would find himself on an island, surrounded by a few others that had also been transported here. Taking off his earphones slowly as he looked around, the man would spot the rising tide and stare for a bit. Activating Turn It Up, the invigorating vibrations following the best of the music blaring from his headphones, would shift through the sandy shore to those close enough to feel it and boost their attack. Cesi was feeling pretty ballsy today and didn't exactly feel like getting eaten so he would give it everything he had to keep himself alive. So, with a crack of his fingers he would hold his palms before him and let out a boop with his created vibrations, pushing water back that had risen to the shore. As the water began to fill back in he would keep up the bombardment as his music commanded his movements.
Summary: HARD MODE/ Came in and boosted attacks while pushing back waves. Fighting the current.

Pulled by to safety by @zodiac, Akeno remained silent, as she noticed many people beginning to gather around. She wondered to herself, supposing that more people had gotten the same notification as her, looking around at the new arrivals. Pouting, as she watched them gather about, her stomach gurgled. The Cannibal frowned, ever hungry.
"No idea what he can do..." The Cannibal looked up, seeing the water surge towards her, hopping quickly behind gauntlet to avoid the attack. "It's under the water?" She pondered for a moment before tilting her head and remarking. "Well, we can go in there and kill it... Or find a way to bring it out here? Any ideas? Wait for it, maybe?"
She mumbled with a shrug. Thinking wasn't one of her finest talents, but it was one she made frequent attempts at strengthening! She pulled her slingshot from her bag, preparing for conflict to come, readied and still hiding behind Gauntlet.
Summary: Akeno decided it was safer to just chill behind Gauntlet, and tried to use her brain a little bit.

However brief, the sonance of another's voice lifted above the channels of the sea's frenzied chorus and swung on Zodiac's ears.[break][break] "You're asking me, big guy?" Zodiac said incredulously.[break][break] An amused colour accented the coy curve to his lips before the island shook. The earth groaned as a fierce wave developed from the dragon's tail. akeno's arm left his hand, and he soon chased after her.[break][break] "The plan is to head for cover!" Zodiac beckoned for Oasis as he hurdled himself behind the Bruiser's makeshift bulwark.[break][break] Crazy, he thought, that this would provide adequate coverage for the dragon's attack. Bracing himself, he clung onto Gauntlet's leg and shed dignity in exchange for a desperate stability.[break][break] As the projectile plunged toward them, Zodiac swiftly shot ophiuchus' grasp around the party. Shnk! Shnk! Shnk! Shnk! Several arrows dug themselves into the sand and illuminated brightly as constellation-like links formed between them.
