The stalemate was awful. He was making progress on the bandit's health bar, which totalled to a measly half of it from all the time he took. The only thing he could think of to make it less boring was to bring out the masochist in him and test the limits of his stats. With the swing of the axe-wielding brigand, Index decided to use his left arm to block the damage. The result was less than satisfactory though, with the pain rushing to his arm along with the sudden chunk to his health bar. His arm was now bleeding pixels and his face was now contorted from anguish. If he had anything to learn from this experience, it was that preventing damage is still better than getting hit with a large weapon.
Index turned around to see Akeno done with her part of the fight. "Ah, my savior! Help!" Although her health has somehow recovered, the Paladin still felt inclined to throw a heal in her direction to top it off. Amid his healing, he felt another sharp sensation on his back, prompting him to stagger forward and turn back again. Grumbling at the sight of the axe stuck on his back, he quickly shifted his body and activated another Bash, but this time, directing the knockback to the ground. His fingers snapped soon afterwards, giving Akeno the temporary speed boost for the second time. He had been experimenting with cast animations since his spells were all too bland. Apparently, any hand motion was all it required.

Slightly upset that the gunner was still putting up a fight, and hearing her companion's plea for assistance behind her, The Cannibal put a swift end to their little tussle. She reached over to the knife, which lay not too far away on the ground, lifting it into the air, and bringing it down onto the poor guy's face with all her strength, and holding it in, as an explosion of pixels and death shot from his wound.
A colorful and dark moment indeed, and perhaps making it worse, was her next move. Leaning her back, before twisting herself around, she pulled up her knife. Driven by the speed buff given to her whenever she defeated an enemy, and the one given to her by her comrade, to Akeno, the world seemed to slow.
She watched as the axe menace began to try to pull himself up, back to his feet. Chuckling, she made her way over in a swift stride, placing the bottom of her bare foot on his forehead, and shoving him back down. Noticing him begin to move his arm, as if to swing his axe up, she swiftly responded before his movements, pinning his wrist to the cobblestone ground, by stapling it down with her knife.
With a grim smile, The Cannibal glared up to her companion, wondering how he would react to the opening she provided for him, having made the enemy, well, defenseless.

While he wasn't dying at the moment, the presence of the cannibal was enough for him to beam up with relief. With a few swift movements, she was able to capitalize from Index's previous attack and keep the member of the criminal group on the ground. Seeing as the man was disarmed with no way to escape, Index moved closer to the bandit, stepping on his chest as he plunged his sword to the axe man's heart. Unfortunately, for both Index and his target, stats were a thing in BWO and having low offensive stats meant that the paladin was forced to keep on stabbing.
Each stab he made got the thief screaming in agony, with bits of data floating away from his wounds for every time Index pulled the sword from him. With the last thrust he made, the axe man finally exploded to pixels, as well as ending the screams that echoed on the alley. With the two threats out of the way, the only ones that remained where the two gunners that they were chasing originally. Trapped with only brick walls on their back and two armed players on the other side, the situation could only lead to one ending.
He didn't have other weapons aside from the one he has on his hand, but since the quest was pretty much over once the two were dealt with, he tried throwing his short sword towards the guy that he wounded earlier. The blade immediately reached his head as soon as the paladin threw his weapon, leaving the cannibal with the last victim. "Shall we?" His hand gestured the other thief cowering in the corner, clutching his gun nervously with his hands. A bullet fired towards Index, though the unsteady hands holding the gun obviously missed its target by a distance.

"Oooo, one left. One... Lonely... Guy..." Shifting her senselessly psychotic countenance towards the final, lone criminal, The Cannibal couldn't help but smile. "Put the gun down." In quivering fear, the trepidation was almost palpable in the air, as he dropped his firearm from his quaking grip. Maintaining the speed boosts she'd obtained earlier in their final moments, Akeno was just in front of him, the point of her dagger just at his throat.
"What do you say, hm?" She looked back, her head half turned to the paladin behind her, only a single crazed eye visibly glaring at him. "Should we kill him? Or perhaps the terror we've set in his little belly will keep him from acting out again..." Turning back to the criminal, her words didn't seem mocking at all actually. Seemingly genuinely sympathetic. "Have you learned your lesson, fella?" She tilted her head, pouting her bottom lip, and raising her brows.
Nodding cautiously, it seemed the criminal was beginning to cry. Then, Akeno's gaze shifted back to the allied presence in the area, waiting for his answer on the subject.

Index wouldn't say that he wasn't surprised when he saw the last bandit start showing more realistic expressions. More often than not, enemies related to quests like these would just fight till their deaths. Akeno's words seemed have affected him, convincing him to drop his weapon and surrender to them. Was this really possible in the first place? Given that they were already stuck in a game, he figured anything that defies logic was possible.
The paladin went over to collect the sword he threw, before walking towards the last guy. With the weapon now back to his hand, he plunged the edge to the firearm on the ground, effectively rendering it useless. He opened up a screen, carefully rereading the words about the information describing the quest. "Well, if you really want, I guess he can live. It doesn't necessarily say we're supposed to kill them." Without any will to fight and a weapon to fight with, the bandit was entirely harmless now.
Closing the screens on his interface, he started scratching the back of his head and paced away from the cornered robber and towards the main road. "Time to get the rewards then. Wanna come along?"

"Mk." The Cannibal nodded, flipping her knife back so that it was no longer pointed at his throat. "You live to die another day, bad guy." She shot one last glare at the quivering buffoon, squinting her eyes, before turning away. She approached one of the fallen enemies, taking all the fingers from his left hand, other than the thumb. She didn't like thumbs much in terms of eating. She ate one of them on the spot, topping off the little bit of her hp that she was still missing.
"Aye, time to turn it in! Reward time!" Smiling, as she munched away in a far too joyful way to be chewing on a severed finger, The Cannibal rejoiced, throwing a fist in the air, as she exited the alleyway, pixels leaking from their enemies wounds, as their lives faded away. "Good work, fella! Nice teamwork!" She gave him a salute, before dashing off with a cackle.
