| Rex flicked his gaze upwards and through the tangle of vines and what not in search of Naomi when he heard her speak through their party chat, though he couldn't spot her, “Nice.” He answered before turning his attention for Ray, hearing one of his usual rambles.
“Fuck'n neckbeards, that's who—Nerds!” The soldier fussed as he made it to the river's edge and gave it a weary look. If it was one thing this game loved doing, it was constantly putting him in a position to test his one and only true fear. He gulped before turning around to again face the crusader, “Yeah...Would be a good idea, but you know they put it 'ere for a reason...probably something important over there...” He argued hesitantly, even Ray could notice Rex actually wanted to agree with him though.
Alas before they'd even have time to debate the matter further, the reckless Akeno came charging in to dive the current and fight it's flow towards the other side. Rex instantly shot the woman a glare, sharp teeth clenched, “Damn it Akeno!” How many times had he yelled that since they'd met?
He flicked a look to Drakka and sighed with her suggestion, “Yeah, did we all forget we've got a fuck'n fairy here who can make us fly?” Rex reached to ruffle the hair under his ponytail, giving Papilion a look before settling it again on Akeno as she beckoned them to join her in the rushing water.
It wouldn't be a Devil's adventure if the man-eater wouldn't be the obvious reason they ran into some trouble. Hopefully she'd notice the quickening shadow that swept beneath her, and the rising bubbles and pressure from something crawling beneath.
A giant and armored crustacean sprang out from the water with sharp pinchers and limbs dangling in all directions. It's hard exterior was a dark brown in color, perfect for blending into the thick mud below the surface, and waiting for unexpecting prey. With awkward clicks and gurgles it crawled in attempt to snatch up Akeno and hold her hostage.
“Oh-shit!” Rex hissed as he flinched back from the river, grabbing for his assault rifle, eyes narrowed at the monster. “Bubblegum, light'n Ray up so he wont sink, and let's get Akeno outta there!” Rex demanded as he fired off a trail of heated red projectiles towards one of the crab-thing's legs, leaving a few cracks. Drakka was left to find her own way to support the conflict, she was witty enough for it!

'cause tonight's the night the world begins again Naomi let out a sigh as Akeno rushed to jump into the river. She floated away from the branch to get her when the water suddenly started bubbling and something exploded out of the surface. Things started moving very quickly then, as the others began to move to attack and help in some way. At Carlo's command, she went over to Ray and grabbed his arm, pulling him up as she scattered her scales on him, then pushing him even higher as he began to float. "You better learn how to fly quickly! Just make sure not to get hit."Next on her list was trying to get Akeno out of there. But the large crab was in the way. Whenever she tried to get close to the pink haired woman in the water, its pincers would suddenly appear to try and catch her. It closed with a snap, missing her every time. Making Akeno fly wasn't going to be useful, since she was in the water. Making the crab fall asleep wouldn't work either, cause it'll easily wake up from the rushing water beating against it. "Akeno! Try to swim away from it!" she shouted, hoping that the other would hear her. A part of her suspected that the other would ignore her words and just wrestle with the crab there, but you never know. kingrex raynauld akeno drakka

Another day, another incident the Devils had to deal with. If he wasn't careful, Raynauld would probably get stockholm syndrome from all this - the last thing he needed in his life was to enjoy the suffering he was going through. Before taking off, Raynauld looked at the newfound buff he had been given and picked his weapon accordingly. The flail was too short-ranged and the mace would've been a gamble despite its crushing power; better to look for cracks in the crustacean's shell to pierce through with the spear. Raynauld chose that weapon and subsequently took off, using the immediate period to gain a handle on Papilion's ability. Once he'd done that, Rex had managed to already open up some avenues of attack for him. Charging down, Raynauld struck and pulled back - once, twice, until he'd wedged the spear into its legs and stymied its movement somewhat. The battle for him then became one of holding the beast where it laid until someone else could slay it with prejudice. kingrex papilion akeno drakka

Akeno slowly turned herself around, the water splashing up from her shoulder onto her face. "Yeek... What the fuck are you?" Akeno pointed up towards the big crab thing, before a claw arms swiped at her. The crustacean talons clapped together harshly, attempting to sever her head from the rest of her. Quickly, she ducked her head below the rushing waves.
"Hah!" She attempted to cheer, though this was muffled by the water rushing into her mouth... Shit... To her dismay, there appeared to be something more terrifying than the claws down here... The ugly creature's mouth. Chomping into the water, it nearly caught The Cannibal. In a dolphin like maneuver, she slipped beneath the creature, swooshing past it and breaking the surface behind the thing.
Panting for air, she coughed up some water. "Blah, blah! River water is nasty water!" Turning around she fired a pebble harshly at the thing, the pebble searing a harsh burn mark into it's shell. "Fuck you, Crab king."

Drakka almost felt like not helping with the situation with Akeno, it felt like a show, like she'd always be ok...but that wasn't the case, was it? She nearly just dove right in and fought the thing, but that was a terrible idea for more than one reason. She couldn't fight in the water. She didn't want to be near Akeno when she inevitably went crazy on this big crab. Instead, she started to back up and cast a look over her shoulder before she snarled and started to run. Scaled-up took effect, naturally, as she reached a particularly tall tree and leapt off of it. Thankfully, she didn't have much time to regret how her stomach jumped at such a height before she slammed into the crab's top, though she was pretty sure sh left her stomach behind back there. Instantly, she was tossed around until she seized its armor in her jaws and simply started pulling. At first she didn't seem to do much, but Akeno and Ray would find some armored areas were starting to break as she savagely pulled back. kingrex papilion raynauld akeno

'cause tonight's the night the world begins again While everyone kept attacking, Naomi floated around while keeping an eye on Akeno. So far she was doing well considering that the crab was trying to eat her. Thankfully she was able to fight back and do some damage to it. This close, she couldn't use her poison either, so she was left flying close to it and stabbing it with her dagger. Naomi almost didn't catch the bombs that Carlo threw at her. She glanced in his direction, seeing the thing flying right towards her, and widened her eyes as she lunged forward to catch them. Her heart nearly leapt up to her throat as she held it in her arms, half-expecting it to explode with the way she handled it. There was no time to shout at him for throwing it so carelessly at her. She turned her gaze back to the crab and spotted the crack that he was talking about. Moving in closer, she dodged the pincers that swung around wildly and got within reach. Shutting her eyes, she took a deep breath and shoved them in there. Then she hurriedly flew away, looking at Carlo. "It's done!" Knowing what was about to happen, she glanced at the rest of the guild. "Get away from the crab now! Hurry!"kingrex raynauld akeno drakka

His current position was difficult at best; Raynauld had to keep it wedged in without touching it, the water, or anything behind him, meaning he was effectively a floating body with little to hold him down. Eventually, Papilion's call to action brought him back, and he pulled with some difficulty before he managed to retrieve his spear from its position inside the crab's muscular system and pushing off with it towards the river's edge. He slammed headlong into the top of the cliff, eventually pulling himself up and lying down after he scooted himself away from the edge so he wasn't pulled in further. "Ugh... I'm going to be sick..." Flying was far more work that it was made out to be - at least, it was like that. There had to be a better way in the future. It was true - if God wanted man to fly under his power, He would've given him wings. kingrex papilion akeno drakka

Finally making it to the shore beside the river, she scrambled herself upon dry land. As the conflict persisted, Akeno tried her best to remain aware and attentive. There were many reasons for this purposeful perceptiveness. To stay alive and to help the group were only two of these reasons, but something caught her eye, as the wolf girl's jaws tore through the big crabby's armor and the armored guy kept it pinned...
"Wait, pause." The noise of the conflict muffled. Like sunlight through a magnifying glass, her focus strayed from broadness onto a specific point. With a pinpoint focus, her eyes caught a glint of something shining. "Wah... Pretty..." Either some bright piece of crab shell or some shiny stone had been kicked up in it all, soaring through the air.
The Cannibal's arms lowered to her side, in a pacifist's pose. As the stone soared through the air, Akeno figured that was how life was. Shot off and out into the sky, like a rocket ship into the stars. And maybe you'd catch a glint of sunlight somewhere along the way, at the peak of your soaring. And then... Plop. The shiny little nothing's flying had ended in a splash, right in front of Akeno. Back into a camouflaged existence, it faded away. Akeno felt a little sadder for it all...
Though she would not let it be the end of the little object's life. Kneeling at the water's edge, the soft hands of the man eater slipped between waves, like an angel from the sky. Her thin fingers wrapping around it, she pulled the object she'd seen soar close, staring at it. It was a stone, beautiful and cold. A rainbow in a hard sarcophagus.
"I'll let you soar again, Arnie. Don't worry." Pressing the little rock to her lips, she gently kissed it, before notching it and drawing it back tightly in the rubber of her slingshot. "I believe in you." Whistling through the air, the pebble, though meaningless to the rest of the world, given meaning by The Cannibal, struck and dug deep into the crab's left eye.
"Good work, Arnie. We will meet again, I am certain." Akeno still sat, smiling at the river's edge, amidst the madness. She heard little of the shouting to get away from the thing from the pinkie, nor did she acknowledge the planning of the commando. Instead, she bowed her head respectfully to the creature. "This was good. For all of us." Who she spoke to, no one would know. Other than Akeno, that is.

Drakka barely heard what was going on around her, tearing through the crab's armor with her cleaving claws and tearing teeth. Still, he was aware enough, and her eyes widened and focused as a cry rose above other sounds, and her ears flattened as she started to shift away and gather her legs. She jumped, and didn't quite make it. She briefly soared through the air and splashed into the water, bursting back up with gasp and paddled like a mangy little dog momentarily before she noticed she was agonizingly close to the crab and kicked her legs away. It was gonna blow up, and she knew enough that it wasn't certain if she would take damage or something from such a blast. At the last moment, she'd dive under, only surfacing once it was done. kingrex papilion raynauld akeno

| Luckily because of Akeno pegging the crab's eye out with a damn pebble, it wasn't quite able to drag Drakka down with it's last flailing attempts to kill the player. She had been the last of them still in the water before the crustacean exploded in a glorious popping sound of egg shells breaking and wet meat slapping to whatever surface it could find.
Thick and clumpy blood and whatever other foul excretion was bundled inside the crab came showering out as well, and probably soaked everyone in it's unpleasant weight and textures. Rex was left standing there on the bank of the River with a toothy frown, hand reaching to wipe the gunk from his face, “Why the hell couldn't it just disappear like everything else when it died?! What the fuck?!” He griped before just straight up growling in a yell, detoxing from the battle.
With a few deep breaths he'd settle down and lean to the edge of the river to help Drakka out, if she needed it before standing up straight and giving everyone a look over. Nobody was dead, thankfully. With a flat and annoyed expression he'd nudge his chin towards the water, “...We didn't kill that thing for nothing, come on.” Carlo demanded before extending his left arm and activating some kind of grappling hook device.
It wrapped around a branch on the other side of the river, and with a mechanical whizzing sound swept the soldier across to land safely. Sure Papilion could of just floated him over there, but he didn't enjoy that weird weightless feeling that always gave him a stomach ache, he just wanted this to be over with already!

'cause tonight's the night the world begins again At her warning, she could see everyone begin to run and take cover. Drakka had to jump into the water, and she just hoped that the dark haired woman would be fine. She stopped moving to look back at the fight, just in time to see the mess that suddenly exploded and flew everywhere. Some of the crab's bloody bits still managed to hit her from the force of that bomb, slapping onto her arm and torso. With a groan she wiped them off and shook her hand in disgust. Despite the mess, they were all fine. None of them had really been hurt in that fight, which was a good thing at least. It'll be a sad and quick trip if they had to head back out now because their health were low and none of them had means to heal up quickly. While waiting for everyone else to make it to the other side of the river, Naomi flew up higher into the air just to scan the area and make sure none of their fighting drew unwanted attention from the other creatures of the forest. It would be just their luck to suddenly have every single monster here suddenly headed towards their group. kingrex raynauld akeno drakka

So the crab was dealt with, but that left them with a bigger problem (or at least, him) - how to cross to river. It went without saying that the reason he couldn't get across was due to his armor weighing him down. And unlike Rex, he didn't have any tools to get across short of a skill that only worked with an enemy present- Oh, wait a minute. Raynauld opened the menu and rummaged around in his inventory to find something, managing after some difficulty; evidently he'd collected too many items in his time. With that particular trinket now equipped, however, Raynauld took a few steps back and then charged forward, leaping at the precipice and soaring across as if a dragoon rather than a Crusader, eventually landing in a roll and tumble gone wrong. Okay, so he wasn't an acrobat. Surprise. If the others wanted to talk down to him, they could try wearing the armor and see how they liked it. kingrex papilion akeno drakka

Kneeling at the waters edge, Akeno was baptized in the blood of her fallen foe. In a fantastic, explosive conclusion, their tussle with the crab king came to an end. All of The Cannibal's limbs, hidden within her own consciousness, maintained a solemn silence in commemoration. It had been a wonderful detail, placed into another wonderful day, shuffled into the cosmic mess of memories within Akeno's mind. A deck of cards, perhaps.
"Well, as refreshing as crab meat is," She clapped her lips together, after tasting a bit of the blood, "It seems crab blood is much less so!" Standing, Akeno watched as her armored companion leaped across the waters. Surprisingly, the tactic had been successful for him. "That's a great idea! Why didn't I think of that?!"
Smacking the posterior of her left hand with her right palm, Akeno smirked. "I'ma comin' too!" Sprinting to the edge of the river once more, she too sprung from the Earth. Due to the damage she'd sustained so far, she'd had enough strength to make the leap, but not before crash landing into the already crash landed crusader on the other side.

Drakka tumbled through the water as the explosion rang out, unable to even tell what way was up for what felt like a vastly long time before she burst up from the water, paddling and coming to see one thing...it was raining crab. She let out a very vocal groan and shook her head frantically, paddling in the bloodied water for a moment. " We got him? We fucking got him!" She snarled happily, nearly swallowing a bit of the water as she ducked as Ray and Akeno both leapt like madmen over the river, they were both crazy! " Right, right, coming!" She mumbled, paddling in a valiant effort to get to the other side. In any other body, she might have not been able to swim against the river, but she was a giant Lobisomem right now and simply pounded away at the water before she finally touched land and pulled herself ashore, next to Ray and Akeno before shaking herself free of moisture. " Mmm. Let's go." kingrex papilion raynauld akeno
