| There was some wickedly weird shit throwing down in Dione, and of course it was causing widespread panic not only in the NPC community, but much of the player base as well. The terrible sand storms and never ending rainstorms were enough to make you think the bullshit game was about to drop an apocalyptic event or something of that crappy nature.
There was one major train station in Fool's Errand, and it was vital to get goods, people, and everything else between it and Origin Station and the rest of Gargantua for that matter. With tensions high and some kind of...mental disease going around the area, it was only to be expected that violence would break out.
There had been riots, killings, and general chaos in the already questionably rough natured town. They were already working on some kind of remedy for the short term memory loss...But the effects of raw madness was what really needed to be solved. Backup policing forces, Researchers, and trial medicines were being brought in through the station as well...
So if the station went down for whatever reason, it would be damn well disastrous. And that's exactly why Rex had been recruited...Along with his powerful Guild of devils, to keep the train station safe and ensure it kept functioning long enough to get the town stable once again. The Commando was of course the first on the scene, though all his invites had been sent....
The already poorly lit town's visibility was hampered further by the downpour of rain, bolts of lighting from time to time did grant you a screen of vision, but it wasn't enough to quell the gut wrenching anxiety of defending the station in such unfriendly conditions.
It didn't help that there was some kind of itching and awkward feeling lurking in the back of the Soldier's mind, was this the effects of the storm they'd been talking about? Memory wise he probably wouldn't know the difference, being a raw animal that ran on instinct half the time.
It was just outside the Station's entrance under a crooked and flickering street light did the Commando take his post. A hood over his face, and a rifle idly resting against his chest, though his posture made it look more as a warning to travelers who passed by and were intent on causing trouble.

'cause tonight's the night the world begins again This place was giving her such an unsettling feeling, Naomi ended up just walking to the designated meetup spot instead of flying over the desert the way she would've normally done anywhere else. She'd heard all about the strange things happening in Dione, and was more than happy to sit back and wait it out. But of course her boyfriend - ever a man of action - decided that now would be a good time to do a quest in the area. The message didn't contain all the details, but she did get an idea of what they were supposed to do. It didn't seem like a bad job to have to protect the train station - instead of actively looking for monsters to kill. Though of course she had no illusions about this quest being quiet and uneventful. There was certainly something that will pop out to try and kill them as always. In this weather, it really was the worst of the worst. Her cloak did nothing to keep her dry, but she still kept the hood over her head. Eventually she arrived and spotted her boyfriend underneath a street light. She began jogging up to him, feet splashing as she stepped on the wet puddles everywhere. When she stopped in front of him, she was a sad, drenched mess. "Why don't you ever bring me somewhere nice?" she grumbled. kingrex raynauld akeno drakka

The last time he ignored a summons from Rex, what he ended up doing instead was far, far worse. That wouldn't happen this time. Maybe it should have, he thought as he trudged through the storm. He had to abandon most of his metal armor thanks to the storm - last thing he needed was to get smote by a literal act of God in the middle of a mission. Instead he had the biker gear on and his spear with him - the less metal, the better. If that pagan was involved in this somehow, he wouldn't be surprised. Wouldn't matter, either - an excuse to smite him would be worth a hundred penances and confessions. Right now, all that mattered was the job. He wasn't happy with it, especially since there was still a chance he'd be confronted, but... He brushed it aside. He could see Rex there already, with Papilion there beside him. That meant he made three. He entered the light, looking similarly disheveled as the butterfly did. "You really know how to pick a job, don't you." kingrex akeno drakka papilion

Drakka, despite the general awful feeling she was getting from...everywhere...wasn't transformed, not yet anyhow. Instead, she meandered down the town. Except for a flinch when an ill timed lightning bolt etched into her sights in time for an eerie scream to split the air, she was putting on a pretty bold and brave front. She was putting on a scary front too, teeth gritted and eyes wandering around her general area with cautious aggression. Her hair was plastered all over her face and she walked with her head down, hands stuffed into her pockets, clearly irritated but preferring to boil in it. She would suddenly appear next to her Guild, wringing her hands free of moisture, " Geez, did everything have to be realistic in this fucking game?" She grumbled, pacing under the streetlight. kingrex papilion raynauld akeno

Just as Akeno was about to gorge herself with the meaty wonders of a giant shish kabob, a notification noise disrupted the romantic moment. Reluctantly, she tugged her eyes off of the meal she was about to enjoy, shifting her glance towards the incoming message. The cooked meat didn't taste as amazing as raw human flesh to the girl, but it was a nice filler when she didn't have anyone to murder.
"Yeah! A job!" The Cannibal shouted, disrupting the small, minimally staffed corner store, "Wonderful! You guys can have this back!" Flinging her meal across the room, she stumbled backwards off her chair and bolted out the door, knocking over a few things on the way. She hadn't been planning to pay for the food anyways, so ruining it didn't really matter to her.
After making it near the place of gathering, Akeno's limbs gave her a mischevious plan. Lurking quietly through a nearby building, she soon made her way to the roof, peering down at her guild mates that had already gathered. "Alright... One... Two... Ah, fuck it!" Scrambling, she leaped off of the edge of the building, imagining that she'd land, graceful as a cat upon the top of the streetlight.
"Eeeek!" With a painful yelp, Akeno's palms and feet slid from grasping the structure. Instead, her torso faced a head on collision with the light, causing it to flicker, as she flailed through the air, crashing onto the ground. In a resounding 'twack', Akeno fell onto the ground groaning in pain. "Bad fucking idea, lefty... When did I start listening to you..."
"Oh, hey guys! Totally didn't... See you there..." She chuckled girlishly, petting the back of her head, rain pouring down on her. Wearing her guild attire, she was thoroughly drenched. "I've arrived!" She awkwardly exclaimed, stumbling agonizingly to her feet. She'd sustained quite a bit of damage already, the dumbass, even before any fighting. Truly, she had some kind of deathwish.

| There was a very flat and annoyed expression on Rex's face when all his Devils showed up in their usual unpleasant natures. For once he was somewhat pleased to see Akeno arrive, mostly because she'd just nearly killed herself leaping from a building and was the only one not bitching about the hard job at hand, “Ooooohhh...I'mmmmmm...Soooorrrry!” Carlo exclaimed harshly and with enough sarcasm to puncture steel, arms extended outwards and his assault rifle lazily drooped within a single hand, “I didn't know I recruited a buncha' fuck'n pussies!” His voice was quick to snap into a wild frustration.
He straightened out his posture then, sharp teeth snarled out in a seriousness that didn't seem very understanding at the moment, “Alright you fuck'n babies, this -should- actually be a pretty easy job. We're doin' security for the station...So all we gotta do is stand around and look scary until the next train comes in with guards from Origin station and Izanagi.” He decided to keep it brief, not like they cared...
“...Sam, Ray...You two are covering the eastern side of the station, keep an eye on those tracks.” He ordered, deciding to put the teenies together. He'd flick his gaze away from them and onto Akeno and Naomi, “Bubblegum, and basket-case are going to be on the western side of the station.” He stopped to look back towards the large and raggedy structure they'd be trying to keep safe, “...And I'lll stay right here, at the gates.”
The Commando again gave his group a narrowed look from under his rain soaked bangs and hood, “...Now get outta my face, and let's get paid.” He dismissed, waving a hand at them and moving to lean against the light post he'd been brooding around for the last hour or so. They were already a rather edgy bunch, and to think this nasty rain could be making them any worse was...dangerous to think about!

'cause tonight's the night the world begins again Soon after she came, the rest of the group followed, mostly with similar disgruntled reactions. And judging by the angry scowl on Carlo's face, she knew that he was all business and stubborn jerk at the moment. With narrowed eyes, Naomi grumbled. "You don't have to be such an ass about it. We're all still here aren't we?" Any of them could've simply chosen to leave after learning where they had to go. With a sigh, she looked around at the empty train station and the tracks leading to either direction of them as Carlo began explaining what they needed to do and how they were going to do it. She was paying attention, but that didn't mean she was happy about it. While she was kind of flattered that Carlo only showed his softer side to her, sometimes she wished it came out more often in public. As soon as he dismissed them all, she began heading to the left side of the station without any further acknowledgement to Carlo, whether Akeno followed her or not. She would've rather been paired up with Drakka, since she was the member she liked the most, but she wasn't going to make a big deal out of it and cause trouble for the group. "Could've at least been more grateful that we're all here at his beck and call," she went on to grumble. If Akeno was following her, she'd say this to her. kingrex raynauld akeno drakka

"Yeah yeah yeah, we get it, you have crippling emotional problems that you hide by being summarily rude. Let's go..." Sam? Who was Sam? Ray took stock. For obvious reasons, it couldn't be him or Rex. The basket case was probably Akeno, and Bubblegum matched the color of Papilion's hair. That left... "... Drakka." Ray took his spear in hand and moved to the eastern side of the station, not that he could see much of anything in the unholy downpour of the night. What was even going to happen out here? He hadn't heard of any big horrid terrors. All he had with him was a wolf-girl that liked to snap at anything she saw, or anything that came too close to her, which was everything as far as he could tell. "... So." He said, hopefully loud enough to be heard over the din of the rain and thunder, "Sam, huh?" Might as well small talk, as much as he figured she hated it. With luck, nothing would come to bother them out here anyway. Of course, now that he'd thought that it was bound to happen, but it was bound to happen. drakka kingrex papilion akeno

Drakka narrowed her eyes at Rex's little explosion, wringing her hands out before crossing them again, " Tch, fine, fine." He was in military mode, and she wasn't too eager to find out if she could argue against him for too long. She simply leaned over to the the side and didn't look at him as he spoke, as if the simple refusal was enough to show her annoyance with this situation, but she wasn't talking back, which was about as respectable as she could get. When she heard her name, Drakka's ears flattened, eyes flickering to Ray and narrowing as he pondered out who this "Sam" was. Thankfully, he used her alias, otherwise she wasn't sure if she was going to punch him or not. " Mm. Yeah, let's go Ray." She mumbled, already starting to walk to their assigned side of the station. Her face looked about as stormy as the rain pounding on them, at the very least she was about to perform far better at a fight than she would otherwise. Goddammit Rex was stupid, why would he call her that in front of the others!? You didn't see her call him Carlo in front of the Darkroot Devils...except for Papilion, but they were a couple, it's be weird otherwise. ...and of course Ray had to chase that little curiosity of her name. She puffed out a breath, delaying the question for as long as possible before they arrived, whereupon she realized she couldn't pretend not to hear anymore, " Rrrr...it's my name." She mumbled, leaning against the wall in an attempt to escape the rain, " I just font give it out to every bastard that asks...don't wear it out, yeah?" kingrex papilion raynauld akeno

Akeno ignored the sarcastic response from her guild leader. Judging by the fact that her nearly successful suicide attempt, slash super surprise for the group went almost completely unnoticed, she figured this was just a result of people getting used to her usual antics. With lefty, her most active limb, taking note of this lack of attention, more terrible, silly ideas were being prepared in the back of The Cannibal's mind...
"Gotcha, captain! Pinkies, rolling out!" The Cannibal gave a smile, nod, and salute in response to her order. "See you guys later!" She stayed a moment, waving goodbye to the wolf, the crusader, and the commando. "Have fun at your places! Don't die, stay safe out there!" A mischievous chuckle came across her.
"Hey, wait up!" Spinning around, Akeno noticed that as she was speaking, her pink haired partner in this mission had already begun walking off. Nearly slipping and falling on her ass, she chased after the one with the nickname 'bubblegum'. The flesh eater had just caught up to bubblegum to hear the end of her displeased grumble.
"Ah, it's no big deal. Grumps gonna grump, you know." She shrugged her shoulders. Akeno, usually someone who hated the rain, had gotten used to it for the time being. Having already been drenched, she figured it couldn't get much worse. "Anyway, how ya doin'?" Akeno gave a kind smile, this time letting her deadly teeth remain hidden by the curtain of her lips.
With the rain pouring on her head, her hair was drenched. Her bangs stuck to her forehead, while the rest of her longer hair clung to whichever part of her it rested upon. There was a sense of optimism about her, though this might be easily mistaken for insanity.

| STATION HP: 500
Defend the Station! It's your roll against your enemy's, and if you roll lower than them, whatever value is left is damage done to the station. (Your roll: 10 Their roll: 15 Damage done: 5 as example.) I'll be rolling for your enemies rolls and tag accordingly. One roll per post (unless you're using your ability!), for 6 posts! If the station's HP drops to 0 the Devils fail!
Rex took a second to roll his shoulders, his soaking wet uniform and combat gear was putting an uneasy weight on his shoulders. His mind continued to feel hazy and certain memories were hard to pull on, was this the curse the storm was bringing with it? The soldier reached inside his inventory for a smoke, trying to hide it between his lips and under his hood from the rain as he attempted to light it.
“Damn it..” He muttered in a breath as he flicked his lighter time and time again to try and get it to catch flame. Seriously this game could go fuck itself with how accurate it was with things it should have been ignoring.
Out of the corner of his eye he caught something moving and quickly shifted his gaze towards it. A tall figure wrapped in a tattered cloak with beady white eyes watched him with an endless stare. Instantly Rex felt a cold chill run down his spine, “If you're looking for a fight you best--” The cloaked figure whipped a thin arm forward and with it a series of small glistening metal spikes were tossed forward in a hiss of speed.
The projectiles impaled Rex's chest, and left the Commando hunching over with a growl of pain, he'd frantically sling his assault rifle forward in one hand, blasting off a barrage of bullets towards the hooded figure. The enemy was quick to jump upwards seemingly weightless as it landed on a roof and jumped again towards the soldier...
Rex didn't even have time to tell his allies he was being attacked. He just hoped this was an isolated encounter and the rest of them were still in the clear. Just who the hell was this fucker anyways? He'd heard rumors of all sorts of tombs and ancient relics being unearthed in the storms... Rex:OIclY3iX Enemy:

'cause tonight's the night the world begins again Akeno's response made her sigh, but there was an unmistakable smile as she thought about her nickname for Carlo. "Yeah, you're right." Weird as she was, her cheerful mood was a nice change and Naomi appreciated that at least. To her surprise, Akeno asked about her, and it made her smile even more. "I'm fine, Akeno. Very wet, but hopefully we can dry ourselves as soon as we're done here."As she finished, she heard the loud familiar gunshots from behind, and snapped her head in that direction with a frown. Was Carlo already fighting something? She was tempted to run over back to him and help, but he had told her to stay with Akeno on this side. In the end she kept going. "You better not get yourself killed," she muttered under her breath. While they were still talking to each other, similar spikes suddenly headed in Naomi's and Akeno's direction. There was barely any time for her to react, so she simply wrapped her arms around Akeno and covered them entirely with her hardened wings. When the spikes hit, they simply clattered to the ground afterwards without harming either of them. "Are you all right?" She stepped back as she released Akeno, her wings folding back behind her. Pressing a hand to the other, she used Golden Touch. "Go! I'll back you up!"VFEHe7Nvakeno - you can add 19 to your next roll kingrex raynauld akeno drakka

"Hm." Raynauld responded to Drakka with a noncommittal answer, and the two were again silent for a while until he piped up again. "Ryan. That's my name. Ryan Thomas. So-" He paused for a moment, evidently in deep thought. "... I'm sorry, it's literally just now occurring to me that Raynauld and Ryan sound somewhat similar. That wasn't-" The sound of spikes falling as hail upon Raynauld kept him from finishing his sentence. Turning, a series of shadowed... things showed themselves, almost iconic in their formlessness and their ability to be nearly impossible to see in the conditions. He snarled at them. "... Well, fine then." He pointed his spear at them. "Come, you eldritch things! I assure you, my God hits harder than yours! AVE MARIA!" Raynauld propelled himself towards the mass and slammed headlong into them, driving his spear forward. A perfect rank-breaking maneuver, as usual. Sam - Drakka - would know to follow up, probably. When he pulled his spear from his current target, he held it above his head and spun it around to clip the targets around him. And the night began in earnest. tixNVDMBdrakka kingrex akeno papilion

Drakka relaxed as they settled back into deep silence, letting her currently flattened ears spring back up...before instantly trying to flatten them again as Raynauld, or Ryan now, gave out his name! She tapped the wall with an irritating noise before sighing, You didn't need to do that, now I know your name. What if I wasn't going to keep it?" She was going to keep it, that much she knew, but she didn't need to! As Ray started to write a connection between his names, she coughed out a laugh, covering her mouth as her shoulders shook. " Hmph, you're a damned honest guy aren't-" Before she could finish the thought, she dropped to her knees, barely dodging a storm of spikes. Drakka quickly emerged into her Lobisomem body, vanishing like she was never there...until she was suddenly in the middle of the enemy, clawing and biting like she was mad. Having dismissed the gunshots carelessly, Akeno was taken back by the sudden hug from her guild mate. "Aw, you didn't have to--" Just before she said anything more, she realized that they were in conflict. "Oh, thanks!" The Cannibal was released from the embrace, having been shielded from the incoming attack.
It wasn't an often occurrence that Akeno got any kind of support. Usually, she just ended up fighting things, taking a bunch of damage, and either winning or running. "Sweet!" Reaching into her bag, she pulled out her knife. Tilting her chin towards the sky, Akeno gave a sniff, searching for her enemy.
Catching an idea of their general direction, along with knowing where the attack had come from, she dashed towards a nearby alley. Just as Akeno spun around the corner to face her foe, the barrel of a shotgun poked her chest and exploded.
This was usually the part in the story where, flying through the air, Akeno had a nice, calm, near death experience, before tumbling across the ground. Though, to her surprise, she felt little pain. It must've been due to the buff given to her by her teammate. With a carnivorous rage, she charged back at her enemy, as he fumbled to reload his weapon.
"WHAHA?! I'M GOOD? I'M GOOD! HAHAHAHA!"
