OFFLINE } Growing up, Skadi's father had been prone to gambling in such a way that left her family on a rollercoaster of monetary ups and downs until his sudden and predictable death. In her short lifetime, even before she graduated high school she had known what it was like to be both disgustingly rich and dirt poor. Her life experience and background have left her with a unique worldview and moral compass, and this carried her into an early career as a police officer rather than pursuing a degree as everyone had expected of her. It was through hard work and over five years on the job that she earned her early promotion to sergeant, and while she had held that rank for a few years she is uncertain if it will be waiting for her should she return to the real world.

[break][break]None of this is something that the woman will be keen on sharing with just anyone.[break][break]

Skadi stands at 5'9", mostly leg, and carries herself like someone with the physical training that she does in fact possess. In other words, anyone who would know better only needs a glance to know she can back up her bark with real bite.

[break][break]ONLINE } Within the game, Skadi is a violent and relentless battler with what appears by all accounts to be a sadistic streak coupled with a will to protect those around her. At the same time, she seems to rebuke those who cannot take care of themselves or pull their own weight.

[break][break]Skadi knows people to be fickle, and so she put most of her energy into expanding her skills outside of the social setting. She knows several different ways to handle an enemy twice her size and can maintain control in a high-speed chase, knows the ins and outs of filing paperwork, and is a killer in the interrogation room. Actually managing to make someone like her? No. The last thing Skadi is is charming, and it shows. If someone likes her, that's great. If someone doesn't, then there's nothing she can do to change that, and she knows it.[break][break]

Because of this, both friends and enemies are treated with an "easy come, easy go" mentality: take her or leave her. This shines through in BWO, even as she knows she needs others.[break][break]

The woman is driven by a sense of honor that has twists unique to her, and the surprises in her moral compass threaten to be offputting even to people who thought they'd like her. To make things more difficult, Skadi dislikes putting up with people or even battles she feels aren't as strong as she is. The meek are people she will either challenge to be stronger or leave behind. Gamblers especially will find a sudden spike in hostility, even had they previously gotten along.

Skadi isn't one to turn away friends, but it's hard to tell who will and won't like her. Her aggressive nature, hard heart, and intricate moral code make it difficult for any long lasting relationship to thrive. It isn't difficult to dislike Skadi, just as it's very easy to trip on a strong dislike of hers. People who can't help themselves - or, in her eyes, refuse to - are some of her least liked, but they are solidly outranked by gamblers and one other type of person. Worse than anything, Skadi can't stand people who seek out power but also seek out uneven battles simply to maintain their illusion of dominance. If someone says they are strong but shy away from a battle on equal footing, Skadi's patience and respect will be diminished down to nothing. The only point in battle is a good challenge, and even she has a distaste for rendering an enemy helpless if they already were to begin with.
