Those sounded like...surprisingly normal tanking abilities. A standard tank with the theme of using many weapons was actually an intriguing design decision. For one thing, it would nab people who enjoyed coolness value and thus usually tended to DPSing. Still, it seemed as though Blank wasn't really one of those types to begin with. Actually, Nicaea wasn't sure what type he was at all, upon further consideration. Dude was pretty taciturn, at least in the current situation. It was actually admirable. The corridor was narrow enough to feel kind of claustrophobic. A few thoughts passed through Nicaea's head, although the most whimsical one concerned how annoying it must be for a large beast to travel to and fro. Nicaea himself was merely above average height, but he'd seen some friends bump into overhead lights and the like before. Being a large monster was a tough gig...and hopefully it wouldn't be able to sneak up on them. "If I'm going be honest, I'd rather not be deep enough to find out...unless that's part of the quest requirements?" Come to think of it, Nicaea still didn't really know what the quest requirements actually were. He'd just sort of...rolled with it. Still, that wasn't what he wanted to ask Blank. What he really wanted to know was, "So, have you, uh, fought anything yet?"i'm 6'2" irl and cave spelunking would not be my thing | Today's Reading: Lovers, Moon, Inverted Wheel ENEMY DETECTOR EMPTY |

The corridor grew narrower as they ventured on and Blank found that he had to walk a bit slower to keep from hitting his head. If there was a large monster on the prowl throughout the caverns then it would be awfully hard to move around. He tightened his grip on the crystal in his hand so it would've accidentally slip from his grasp. "We're supposed to find the miners, protect them and help them find what they're looking for," he said. "Nothing that will require us to go deeper, I'm certain."In truth, his palms were becoming a bit sweatier after the discovery was made about the monster. If what Nicaea said about being a fortune teller held true then it meant that in a fight, they'd have to make very quick decisions. When his partner asked a question, Blank did his best to keep his voice even and clear of doubt. "A few things," he said. "It's not hard once you get the hang of it but it is daunting." Once the pair reached the end of the corridor, Blank raised the crystal a bit higher and found that there was a turn which lead to a large oak door. He looked to Nicaea and shrugged as he walked forward. The door looked large enough to fit a creature of such massive size but it also seemed too civil for something that was considered mindless. "Here," he said as he handed the crystal to Nicaea. "Stay behind me and keep it up."
Blank drew his sword and pressed his hand against the door, pushing it open. A creaking sound echoed and a few rocks shook loose from overhead, one landing particularily close to them. He looked back at Nicaea, opening his mouth to say something only to be interrupted by a whooping cry. "Wh-" An orc charged towards them, wielding a dual-sided axe and a leather breastplate. "Get back!"The orc swung its axe and Blake managed to catch it with the blade of his sword, the clash of metal causing his ears to ring. nicaea map layoutNicaea and Blank have been engaged by an orc warrior, what will they do next?

Well Blank was certainly casual about the whole thing. Only a few life-or-death battles, no biggie. Then again, if the enemies were super easy, perhaps the risks were no higher than commuting an hour each day or eating four Big Macs in one sitting. That was a reassuring thought, in a way. Nicaea accepted the crystal when it was offered to him, inspecting it thoroughly. Having a source of light like this was actually super-cool. If only the real-world had things like this that would stave off the inevitable heat-death of the universe, well, actually nothing much would change. These were the sorts of thoughts one had when trying to avoid the reality before them. For a moment, Nicaea thought that perhaps opening the door had sprung a trap. He flinched a little as a rock fell down, wondering if the cavern would collapse. "Hey, maybe we should-"The sudden war cry caused Nicaea to back up instantly, which was good because he wouldn't be getting in Blank's way. The two had clashed weapons, but...well, Blank was a defense-type character, right? This left Nicaea the dubious honor of dealing damage. "I want you to know I haven't attacked anything yeeeet!" The fortune teller flicked two metal cards at the orc, which curved at a steep angle and impacted against the leather breast, seemingly ineffectual. "OK that was cool but I don't think I can deal a lot of damage that way." He backed up slightly, still holding up the crystal with his other hand, waiting to see if there'd be a better angle to strike. if it were me, i'd run like heq | Today's Reading: Lovers, Moon, Inverted Wheel Orc Warrior: normal status (probably) |

Nicaea wasn't kidding when he said that he wasn't able to deal damage effectively. However, the little stunt that he pulled was enough for Blank to gain the upper hand. While he struggled under the weight of the orc's sword, Nicaea's cards managed to provide a momentary distraction. It wailed in pain and he pushed back against the axe. Libra showed him what it was weak to but ranged attacks would be a good way to distract it from what was at hand. "Just keep firing your cards," he said. "Keep her distracted and disoriented."Blank rushed into the room, casting Invisible Air as he did. The air shifted and he took a few steps back. The further that he went from Nicaea the less he could see. But also, there was a less possible chance of the orc attacking him. Once the orc recovered and caught wind of him, it rushed towards him. Blank held his breath before letting out a loud cry. The orc covered its ears, dropping its axe in the process. Blank took the time to prepare Elemental Reel. nicaea there's the map layout, my badThe orc has been staggered by Nicaea and Blank's combined attacks, Blank is appearing to prepare Elemental Reel. Honestly, ranged DPSing was not what Nicaea had been expecting to do today, but he obediently continued to flick cards at the Orc, resolving to take a more direct-combat skill with his next level. However, a break in his concentration came from an unlikely source. "Wait, did you say her?!" He couldn't tell with orcs; he'd honestly thought the breastplate was just impressive pecs or something, like the Romans had in the stories. Honestly, he hadn't thought about the possibility of fighting stuff like succubi in the future, but that was a distinctly concerning thought. At least an orc was an orc. As Blank's roar stunned its target, Nicaea took the moment to perform a quick reading. He pulled a card to see the immediate future and... "Strength. Oh, yeah, thanks, that's real useful," he said, placing it back in the deck and shuffling. His ranged attacks halted, mostly because he wasn't sure whether or not damage would dispel the crowd control effect.
