The idea of gambling didn't sit well with Blank. It was a dishonest way of earning money and didn't seem to suit adventures. Especially those detailed in the books that he occupied himself with over the past few days. But with the idea of other adventurers showing up to gamble away their savings and participate in the show, it may have been worth watching. He didn't like the idea of just sitting around either and the money that he used on his books was beginning to dwindle. Might have to start budgeting again.
Fool's Errand was in full swing and there were people on the streets and talking loudly among themselves. The sun had set and night took its hold as the more surlier of drunks made themselves known to the world. A crisp breeze brushed past him sending tendrills of cold down his spine though he was warmed to his very core as he entered one of the inns, finding it packed more so than usual. There were a lot of people there wanting to put their stake in for the "showdown" happening. In truth, he wasn't sure how a quest could've been offered for something like this but as a server came closer to him — one was presented. Whomever instigated these quests or had the idea for them must have had a wicked sense of humor. Nonetheless, his curiosity was piqued and he was already there so he accepted it with haste. One of the reward was 120 pieces and Blank marveled. How many books could he buy with such a haul? His gawking left him vulnerable to the world around him as he felt someone bump into him from behind. "Oh, sorry."

There was quite a lot of commotion going on over there. Unicorn was drawn into the crowd simply because of how noisy and large it was. She was wandering around the streets alone and people kept giving her really weird looks. Actually, she couldn’t tell if they were weird looks or concerned looks. She just knew that they weren’t good looks. Maybe if she made her way into the crowd, people wouldn’t notice her as much. Or maybe she just wouldn’t know them looking at her. As soon as she got to the outskirts of the crowd, a quest notification popped up. She didn’t even bother reading it but clicked the accept button because why not? That’s what she had been doing for everything that popped up on her screen. It was funny to see random panels just show up in her vision like that, but it was also distracting and Unicorn often just tried to make them go away as fast as possible. She didn’t close the window soon enough, because it blocked her vision of the boy standing in front of her, causing Unicorn to bump into him. She heard the boy say sorry, but tears had already started to weld in her eyes. It hadn't hurt as she had only hit her nose in an uncomfortable manner, but her initial reaction to being surprised was always to immediately start crying. (( blank was kind enough to let me use this template because i don't understanding coding at all (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧))

Out of all the people that he expected to run into while in a tavern, a little girl was not one of them. Tears sprung up in her eyes and Blank felt the tips of his ears turn red as he waved his hands. Where were her parents? Was she all alone here? Worry spread through him like wildfire as he crouched down to her level. A few people began to look their way but it didn't matter to him as much as getting her to smile or at least stop crying. Something told him that he was weak to another person's tears probably because of the sickening feeling in his gut at the prospect that he made her cry. "Hey, it's okay," he said. "Are you lost, where are your parents?"He opened his mouth to ask her for her name but as he looked up, he noticed a name floating above her head. Unicorn. Was she another adventurer just like him? But she's so young. And the feeling in his gut grew stronger as he thought that perhaps she didn't have any parents for him to return her to. unicorn

The mention of her parents only made Unicorn start crying more. She had already spent hours the first day looking for them. A lot of people around here were her parent's age and the ones that were didn't look like they wanted to talk to her. No one had heard of them and every time she told a player her full name and her mother's cell phone number, they always walked away before helping her. She had given up at this point, but with a sniffle she managed to clear out her nose and mouth before stampering out, "M-my name is Kaylee H-Hawkins and my mom's cell n-number is 555-235-1984. I am really lost and I-I wanna go h-home."After getting all the words out, Unicorn watched to see if Blank was going to walk away from her like everyone else did. No one even bothered to pull out cell phones or anything! She would have called her mom herself, but her parents said she was too young to have one. blank

This wasn't his responsibility. She wasn't his responsibility but as she continued to cry, his heart was breaking. The people who took notice of them whispered among themselves or averted their eyes. No one liked to see a crying child and Blank knew that he should do the same but he couldn't. Kaylee. He opened his mouth to tell her his name only to halt. She had a first and last name but his was only Blank. There was something off about him not having a last name. Wasn't it usually customary for someone to have a first and last name? Parents. A number. He shook his head, offering her a little smile. "I see, it's nice to meet you Kaylee. I'm -", a pause overcame him as if something resurfaced from the deepest recces of his mind. "My name is Jonah."He blinked a few times, trying to remember where it'd come from. His name was Jonah. Jonah.. something. But Jonah. "But, my friends call me Blank. Don't worry, I'll stay with you and try to help you find your parents. I promise."unicorn
