as far as skadi was concerned, it was the same as pest control. even if the monsters scattered throughout the gardens of the manor were human in appearance, they weren't real. if they weren't people, then it would be as easy to destroy them as with any dragon. while she would have preferred something with a more permanent impact on the world of gargantua than a quest, the rewards for this particular one were decent enough.
she just had to wait on anya to arrive.
it was difficult, because even if it did turn out to be a challenge, she knew it wasn't the sort of thing that appealed to the slayer. she had sent an invite anyway, but had half expected to receive no response at all. the pale woman had been hot and cold lately, refusing to speak to her but also refusing to stray too far from her side. it left the vanadis bewildered, but unable to address the issue without worrying about the slayer taking another hiatus from the guild. she was, in no small way, left in an awkward position.
she should have expected some sort of fallout from the grimace incident, and yet this was more frustrating than she had imagined.
testing the weight of her shield, enforcer, skadi frowned as she glanced over her shoulder. she half expected to have to handle the quest on her own, which was technically fine. she had no doubt in her abilities to handle it, and yet it wasn't a thought she enjoyed. for the time being, she held back, even if the enemy wasn't something she considered as strong as a bounty.

skadi seneca 1/8/12 when pastel puts twelve but the quest says eight, what do I pick Zombies. ''How lovely.'' she mutters to herself. Her heels clicked on the hard floor of the dilapidated manor. Her gaze rested over arches and door ways, taking in the architecture with an eye that appreciates beauty. Her fingers run on the faded wallpaper, even as some of it peels here and there. For an abandoned house? It was in pretty good condition, no lie. And she could see - mostly in her mind's eye, filling in the gaps but still - the once splendour of this place. It was something that would tingle down her spine if she let it, because it was just so grandiose. That was the entire point of it, wasn't it? After all, can't have a creepy crawlie land without a giant empty house with ghost and ghouls. Yet the echoes of a life that could have been were shiver inducing. But she was here, and with an easy quest on top of that. After all, taking out a few zombies was a staple in any sort of game - if zombies existed that is to say - almost as natural as murdering slimes. And what better way then to start her journey then by murdering a few hordes of undead with her lips and touch? Well, apart from bedding a very attractive partner, but that was not available in pg-13 land, no sir. So for now, she had to content on getting her foot in the door of leveling. She had fooled around in town long enough - people were dying out there, whilst she was busy making dresses for glamour. Needless to say, the skin tight clothes she had on right now were so worth it. But what she had expected, well, it wasn't someone standing in the door leading to the garden. Not quite in - because you walk in and you aggro everything natural rule of quest area mapping - but still there. And positively blocking the way. Her hand rises to her face, her fingers coming to rest on the lower half of her face. Holding her chin in thought, the green haired woman only held this for a few beats of the heart. Well, it was of no choice what she was to do, now was it? ''Why hello there, are you intending to do the quest in the garden?'' she asks. Polite, and her face comes with a small smile. Try out being nice first, and see where that leaves her - no sense being rude without reason! Although, Stiletto felt a little thump in her chest. If she were a betting girl - on the right occasion she could be - well she'd bet that this person before her was rather strong. And strength was attractive, in males or females - and only the really stupidly blind cannot appreciate it like that - so perhaps she found herself a bit curious. Only a bit mind you, because strangers were always a mixed bag when it came to interactions, particularly in games like these. MADE BY ★MEULK

The moments ticked by, and it eventually sank in that Anya simply might not be coming. Technically, this was fine. Skadi told herself that the prickling under her skin was just because it would've been nice if she had been told, but something must have come up. That, or Anya had something better than to do than the menial task of completing a quest.
That was fine, too. This was fine.
When a woman called out to her from inside the mansion, she paused, studying her. When she noticed the player tag above her head, it ruled her out as an NPC trying to tempt her into the zone of aggro. For some reason, the realization was the nail in the coffin of her patience. If Anya decided to come, she would have to catch up. "I was waiting for someone." She started, "I don't think they're coming."
It was perhaps flat, but it was the truth.
"Are you here for the same quest, then?" She asked, blunt as ever. It could be that the woman already had a party, but it was worth a shot.

Oh my, her bet would be paid for in eye candy quite literally. If the green haired woman would listen to herself, she'd find a way to take this woman home and have quite a fun night. But Stiletto is more then just that, and so even though this woman is beautiful without a doubt, it's not the right time to just gush upon her. It would be quite crass to do so in the first place, and this amazon did not deserve such filth. And it was obvious on first sight, at least to she, that strength was a value that was most prized. Perhaps it was in her voice, or perhaps it was just Stiletto was blinded by her own perceptions, but whatever it was, she was drawn. ''That is unfortunate if they're not showing up.'' she said. But it wasn't commiserating or anything, to the woman it truly was a shame. The Hecatomb just laughed softly. ''But if you'll have me, I'll do my best to help hm? Because I've been eyeing this quest for a while, and as much as I planned doing it solo, it'd be better to have company just in case.'' she said. She wasn't beating around the bush either, and much less even think of lying. But there was something in her words, a flicker to her tone. She truly could appreciate such a woman as before her, and she clearly would not mind her company, even if they're just murdering zombies. Shifting her weight, she resumed her walk towards the woman, having stopped at quite a distance away to gauge what was going to happen. And since it seemed to be non-threatening, well perhaps this could even be fun. Her eyes caught the name, and the guild tag of her soon to be partner - well at least she hoped so. It would be too bad if the other decided to chase her off, reserving the quest for her and her absentee partner. But hey, she threw her offer out didn't she? So she was allowed to hope. She couldn't help but smile at the other woman. MADE BY ★MEULK

Skadi listened, tapping her foot before nodding and reaching up to send the woman a party request. Stiletto, hm? This would either go really well or really poorly, she decided, even as she chided herself for the snap judgment. "I don't see why not. We'll probably both do better together than alone." She said, but probably was truly the key word here. Enough random players had turned out unreliable in skill, or purposefully placed themselves underfoot.
Or worse yet, overestimated their abilities.
Not willing to waste any further time, Skadi relented and stepped forward through the gates. As the zombies stumbled towards her, the Vanadis frowned, waiting. After all, she had time, just in case Anya decided to show up late. The moment she was sufficiently surrounded, one of the undead even reaching out clumsily to attack her, she unleashed glacial teeth, icicles breaking up through the ground and into those very enemies who had sought to overwhelm her.
Against stronger enemies, it might have only hindered. Here, even as she was a defender, it sank deeply into their health. With a few swipes of the blade along the edge of her shield, most of them had already fallen before she sought to check on the status of the potential party member, if she had moved at all.

Stiletto didn't think it could get any worse. But it did. Watching the woman walk ahead of her was one experience she knew she would love. But she had thought that her desires, her passion, had reached a fever pitch. That it was enough to admire, and watch as if this woman was the last person in the world. So many things in this game was like that, and Stiletto loved each beautiful moment as much as the next. There wasn't much that could top a person such as this though, for people had the most beauty, and the most potential to grow more beautiful too. One could call Stiletto a beauty seeker or something of the sort, but yet she would think of herself as more of a lover of humans. But now, now she wanted to touch this woman so bad. It was burning deep in her stomach. It had been easy to follow her out, even easier to jump in the air, twist so that her feet landed on the wall, and pushed herself up higher into the air, taking flight. But she had waited, to see exactly the mettle of this woman - and that mettle was so cold it burned. Just like dry ice actually. Her new party member was fantastic - ahead in levels for sure, and strong too. She was like a burning star in the void of space, and that was exactly Stiletto's undoing. She still controlled her urges, because she was not uncouth to say the least. She was civilized. Dropping from the sky, her heels dug into one of the few current zombie survivors. Conveniently, it was placed right in front of the other. Of course, her little party indicator on the mini-map would have been right on top of the other's, but that was because she was in the sky. Her heels sunk in and dulled the remaining chips of health of that creature, and she let out a pleased sigh. Another one was coming towards her, and she simply bent under it's arms as it reached for her, slipping in between them. With a laugh, she grabbed said arms and twisted them away from her. She was tempted to bite the jugular, but she simply twisted her own body, sinking her heels into the zombie's head. ''Let me know if you need any healing.'' she said, her eyes sparkling with the joy she felt right now. A beautiful woman at her side, fighting disposable zombies - and sort of for her life if she wanted to stretch the truth a bit - and she's able to fly around. It was so much fun, and she couldn't help but feel alive right now. Much better then her moping around and fashion concentrated lifestyle so far by a wide mile! MADE BY ★MEULK
