To kingrex : It's Raynauld. Word of mouth from the east says a great beast called the Destroyer walks the street of that hallowed town Izanami. I'm bringing myself and another, provided she wishes it; are you in?[break] To Chandra : It's Raynauld. I'm curious to see your work outside of a fight where we're all liable to die horribly; there's a bounty for an evil oni terrorising the eastern town of Izanami. Would you like to come along? I've invited another fellow as well who will certainly aid you and I, provided he's not in one of his tempers.[break] This was an incredible gamble on his part. Rex was notorious for his... attitude issues, and Chandra was prone to huddling in the corner out of a crippling shyness. Put these two in a room and he doubted the former wouldn't shout and yell at the latter; if he did, the guilt Raynuld would feel would be immense... That, and he couldn't guarantee he wouldn't get into a fight with Rex over it.[break] Speaking of Raynauld, he looked different than usual. Siegebreaker over his shoulder, he strode into the town limits atop Aethon, in vastly different armor than before. Where metal plate sat before had been replaced by blackened leather coats and chaps; emblazoned upon the back was the patch of the Darkroot Devils, only with red wings as a border. The guild's name was written in a gothic font, bloodred; on the left a small square that read "MC" while on the right a small square that read "1%". Finishing the ensemble was a pair of kerchiefs in black and red that made up the bandana, better to keep the wind out of his eyes.[break] Was this even the same person who constantly shouted about love and whatnot? It certainly didn't look like it. NPCs gave him odd looks as he strode in, waiting for responses from the two he'd contacted; inwardly he was already dreading Rex's reaction if nothing else: "Holy shit," he'd say, "You look fucking hilarious, Ray! Gahaha!"Bounty Battle - 1/8; I know I'm kinda imposing on you two by dropping this as suddenly as I am so if you don't want to participate just PM me and we'll wing it

[attr="class","scare"]EAT SHIT AND DIE! [attr="class","scare1"] [attr="class","scare2"] [attr="class","scare3"] [attr="class","scarewords"]He hadn't been on good terms with Ray after they little fight at the festival, but the guy was still one of his best guild members. So when he asked for some help in killing some demon or the like, he wasn't going to refuse. If anything it would just be another chance to give the guy hell about their heated topic.
Unlikely entrance was made by the soldier, as he came flying into the town's edge riding on the back of a giant masked bat, charming. The large winged mammal fluttered to a stop in a clearing off to the side of a cobblestone road, Rex hopping from it's back and giving it a pat on it's ear before it squealed some awkward batty sounds and took off again for the skies to hide.
If Ray hadn't see him coming, he'd find the guy regardless, giving him a stubborn glare, “...I'm shocked yeah'd pick me over your little man eating girlfriend.” He toyed lowly before taking a step forward to inspect his outfit like a sniffing animal, “Ehhh? What's this? Not your style, but I like it.” He commented before stepping away and looking over a shoulder, “So you got someone else coming?” He'd flick a flat expression back to the man, “...They better not be worthless...Or else.” He warned...Or threatened?

The message she had gotten was a surprise to her. Recently, it was very rare to get any sort of message from other people, but when she saw that it was from Raynauld, she was all different kinds of happy. He was the only person she had any connection to that was more than just a passing face. Even if being invited into his crafting station meant nothing to the Crusader, it meant a lot to someone who was no better than a scared orphan in this fantasy world. Without a second's hesitation, Chandra replied with, <<"I'll be there as soon as I can!">> The Guardian Angel rushed out of her own crafting station, bringing with her the new staff she made from the scales. She spent a lot of time making it look pretty, since time was something she had a lot of. The time spent was almost nothing to her as she played around with a lot of arrangements until she had something she liked. The game made it easy to craft, which was a delight since she didn't lose the pretty scales that she so enjoyed looking at during dull days. With her wings leading her to Raynauld's location, she landed close to him and the other person who she expected was the other person he mentioned he was bringing. Almost immediately, she went over to Raynauld, partially hiding herself from the stranger in Raynauld's shadow. It was difficult to make eye contact with the stranger... <<"Hi">> she simply messaged both of them. The other person was... intense, for lack of a better word... Chandra looked up to Raynauld, and asked, <<"Who is she?">>

"Akeno's not a "girlfriend", Rex," He brushed the comment off, "She's an ally." The reality was that it probably didn't matter how many times he explained it to Rex; he'd say it to try and get a rise out of him. This was exactly why he never told him about Carol.[break] Thankfully, Chandra arrived soon after, so they could get underway; at least, that was the plan until Raynauld got the message from the younger girl and instantly burst out in laughter. If Rex had heard that, the end result would have been either amazing or horrifying - and now that he was laughing, something was clearly up.[break] Ahahahah! We'd have to call him Regina! I should tell Drakka and Akeno this later![break] "No, Chandra," Raynauld messaged back, trying to ignore the inevitable stare Rex would try to burn into his skull, "That's Rex. He's a boy, I assure you. He's a bit difficult to work with, but he means well." He tacked on another word to himself at the end of it: Better not prove me wrong, Rex.[break] He then turned his head to the Commando. "Do you remember her? She's Chandra, the angel from the Otohime debacle. She's a healing class; thought it might be useful." [break] The sound of the oni could be heard then, dragging through the streets of Izanami. NPCs that remained near the three quickly went quiet, abandoning the roads.[break] "Good. Rex, Chandra, I'm going to try and lead it to the square, where I have more room to maneuver. Is that fine with you?" He didn't wait for an answer; he spurred Aethon on, and rode into the area they'd heard Kuchikukan's roar.[break] 2/8 - kingrex Chandra

[attr="class","scare"]EAT SHIT AND DIE! [attr="class","scare1"] [attr="class","scare2"] [attr="class","scare3"] [attr="class","scarewords"]Sure as hell Rex gave a nasty look at Ray when he laughed and that age old third sense of knowing when somebody was talking about you came crawling up his spine. Sharp teeth grounded together and he'd hiss in distaste, a brow twitching with the rage that boiled in side. This damn crusader should learn his place!
The look he gave Chandra was strong enough to melt bones, and he seemed entirely unimpressed and annoyed even by her frail exterior, “....No I don't remember her doin' shit...Only healer I know is Cat.” He snapped back with a sigh before reaching to scratch the hair just under his ponytail.
The man's sharp sky blues tilted downwards to the message she'd sent, curious as to why she wasn't talking, “...Is she mute or something?...I ain't got time to send texts during a fight!” The soldier griped before he dragged his Adriel assault rifle from his back. The powerful and futuristic silver trimmed weapon was a welcome addition to the duo of holy righteousness he'd partnered with.
He'd keep towards the back, bringing up the rear until suggested otherwise, he'd see what Ray was made of when it came to leading, “Sure, whatever. This is your show, so don't fuck it up.” Carlo toyed with an arrogant and short laugh, keeping pace.

Chandra was staring up at Raynauld in confusion when he suddenly decided to have a laughing fit. But when he cleared it up, the girl blushed a little at her wrong assumption. Although to be honest, he did look like a girl at first, but when the stranger spoke, his masculine voice stapled on the fact that he was indeed not one. The threatening look and the harsh words he gave her made her hide behind Raynauld a little more. She could tell that he didn't like her that much, and all she could do was stare back at him. But that stare wasn't one of fear but one of defiance. He wasn't going to intimidate her like that, at least not while Raynauld was around. She felt safe around him. When the monster they were here for appeared, Chandra took flight and followed the Crusader, then split off ahead to the square where she stood on top of a roof so she could prepare. Holding her hand out, she summoned her new weapon, a staff with the reminiscent sheen of the raid boss that allowed Chandra and Raynauld to meet. Chandra raised her staff and gently tapped it on the roof to activate her Prayer skill. Raynauld and Kingrex would get a boost on their armor, and the reassurance that any damage they suffer will be healed continuously over time. This was the only way she could help since her own attacks were weak and penalizes her ability to support the other two which would make her even more useless. 'Please be careful, Raynauld...' she silently prayed.

Raynauld took the Siegebreaker from his shoulder as he spurred Aethon ever onward, galloping at a healthy clip. When he caught sight of something strange in his peripheral, he swung the spear and caught the oni straight across the face as he rode on.[break] Judging from the sound, he'd earned its ire, and Kuchikukan quickly gave chase. Sparing a glance behind him, Raynauld took in how fast it moved; though it looked lumbering the Oni was anything but, even if it was anything but. Occasionally, it swung its club with enough force to disrupt the wind through fired blasts of air; a regular Kami-no-Kaze if there ever were one.[break] It meant little to the Crusader, who simply took the attacks to keep attention on him until he rode into the square, a large circular area that looked much like the rest of Izanami, with perhaps more green and solace than usual. In another time, this would be an area packed with those milling about. With Kuchikukan tormenting the streets, it was merely empty, all the better for Raynauld to ride about. He could see Chandra on a roof and Rex nearby, so Raynauld raised his spear and issued the challenge, riding at Kuchikukan as the Oni ran at him.[break] And spear met club, clashing in a mighty blow of sparks and metal. He'd certainly gotten better at mounted combat since then, though maybe some of that was the armor. 3/8 - kingrex Chandra

[attr="class","scare"]EAT SHIT AND DIE! [attr="class","scare1"] [attr="class","scare2"] [attr="class","scare3"] [attr="class","scarewords"] Rex decided to stay on foot for the time being, sure he could of called in his giant fucking bat, or that crazy mecha of his...But in the somewhat cramped space of the town he didn't want to chance it and get clogged up. He was quick enough to trail behind the crusader, watching him bash the giant Oni with a fancy new weapon.
Nothing like a metal toothpick you could poke enemies with right? He'd stick to his guns...The buff from Chandra would get Rex glancing upwards on the roof as the little one took flight, at least she'd be out of the way. A gloved hand was reached behind him to grab an unfolding aerial drone that was tossed upwards into the sky, letting it buzz to life and hover idly by the Commando.
A brief wave of his hand was all it took to give it orders, and it would flutter off towards the Healer, idling nearby in case she somehow managed to grab unwanted aggro. It wouldn't fire until then, for the same reason. Rex meanwhile posted himself up behind an overturned fruit cart, aiming down the sights of his weapon and steadying his breaths for well placed shots...
Adriel was hopefully going to have an advantage here, an oni was a demon, right? So a fucking holy weapon firing bolts of magical projectiles should do the trick. The soldier fired, aiming for the back of the giant's legs, right in the soft fold of the knee. Knocking that big bastard down a level or two would hopefully give Ray a little more room to hit weak points on horseback...

Watching someone she cared about fighting monsters always got her worried for their wellbeing. However she would just look at the status window of the party to give herself some form of comfort. Raynauld's health was still high, and at the rate the monster was damaging him, Chandra was confident that her healing aura would keep him safe. He was a defense class, so his armor would naturally be high even without her buff. That only left the scary stranger to be worried for. If the monster turned on him, it could do more damage to him than Raynauld because he didn't look like they had the same class. Of course, she herself would probably be the easiest one to take down, since a single hit would cancel out her boosted aura, so she'd be a very easy target if she couldn't take to the skies fast enough. Although, she wasn't worried about that. Monsters usually never go for her when there were other people around because she almost never attacks at all, and so they wouldn't be mad enough at her to attack her. The only concerns were auras that damaged her, and spells that hurts everyone in an area. This is the reason why she would usually hover around the sky, or stay at the higher ground since most area spells didn't reach her. The skies were her safe haven. She had heard a buzzing around her, and so she turned her head to look. There was something flying above her. A drone? Was it from the scary person? If it was there to protect her, then maybe what Raynauld said about him was true, that he meant well. Maybe he wasn't so scary after all?

The oni was easily eight feet tall, swinging its club around with one arm and roaring. A scary beast, to be sure, but when you had faith on your side there was little else to worry about. That, or Raynauld was simply so certain that he wasn't afraid of losing.[break] After more clashes, however, it became clear that he wasn't to break the oni's guard so simply. With that in mind, he pulled Aethon back and considered his options. Eventually, he came to a conclusion; let Rex do some work and catch Kuchikukan unawares, and then impale the beast where it was least expecting an attack.[break] To that end, Raynauld pointed his spear at the oni; a large crimson chain fired from his position, as if divine providence, and latched onto Kuchikukan. Taking hold of that over the reins, he pulled to ensure tautness and fought the oni in a tug-of-war battle, the oni slamming its club against the chain, once, twice - and it was cracking under pressure.[break] "Rex, now! Rain lead upon it!"[break] The chain would retract, but not without time. At this rate, he was unsure he'd even get that.[break] 4/8 - kingrex Chandra

[attr="class","scare1"] [attr="class","scare2"] [attr="class","scare3"] [attr="class","scarewords"]You didn't have to tell an Attacker to attack, Rex had already been watching Ray's movements closely and figured the guy was up to something. He'd taken off in a sprint, sliding around the monster as he snared it up to get in some good shots, “Already on it!” Rex taunted, aiming his powerful assault rifle towards the thing's weapon wielding arm.
It was probably a long shot to get the thing disarmed, but he'd aimed for a weak point and was hoping for the best. He'd drown the monster's limb in a whole clip of golden bullets, gun sizzling with heat when he was done, and his icing on the cake was a frag grenade that he pulled from his belt and sent rolling towards the thing's legs which exploded shortly after.
Just in case things hadn't gone as hell as he hoped, he'd crawl himself behind another overturned and ruined fruit cart, leaning his back on it and quickly reloading his rifle, sharp gaze sneaking from it's side to make sure he wasn't about to get smashed or eaten...

Chandra saw the crimson chains latch itself onto the monster and pulled it towards Raynauld. Using the opening, Kingrex freely fired on the monster's arm, possibly to make it drop its weapon, Chandra thought. Meanwhile, she was just there in her perch where she was stuck on until either the monster was defeated, or she was forced to relocate. She was fine with this, simply standing by while at the same time still helping, but there were times when Chandra felt bad about not being able to help a little more. Currently, she felt like a ward that one would just put on the ground and forget about until it expires. Looking at the scary-looking monster however made her thankful that she wasn't up there face-to-face against it. Its fearsome height and intimidating weapon would have surely made her freeze in place. Sometimes she wondered if this class was suggested to her because it kept her out of everyone else's way. Because that's what she ends up doing most of the time, staying out of people's way. Although, that really didn't change anything for her since that's what she did all of her life. Well, maybe something did change for her... She was helping. Not much, but she was.

"Rrrr-"[break] He pulled with all his might; when he clenched his fist shut, the chains yanked and pulled the oni forward. Perhaps not by much, but that was to be expected against something as unique as Kuchikukan. All that mattered was that he had its attention and that he'd pulled it away from Rex and Chandra. Now, he could-[break] The oni raised its head to the skies and roared flames into the heavens, conflagratory bolts raining down upon them. The action spooked Aethon; Raynauld himself was reminded more of Otohime's storm than he would have liked to recall. Regardless, he spurred the horse on as best he could, raising his spear directly into the gut of Kuchikukan-[break] And its head came down, the unholy fire falling from its mouth alongside the beast. The flames sprayed over Raynauld and his horse, long enough for the oni to tuck its head in and butt forward, striking the horse and goring it with its mighty horns. Rider was quickly tossed from mount, hurtling through the skies and crashing into a nearby wall.[break] He wasn't out yet - it would take more than that to defeat Raynauld - but he'd need time to get back up.[break] 5/8 - kingrex Chandra

| Of fucking course it was going far to easy for them, and this big ugly bastard had a special move he was just waiting to use. Rex had just gotten himself ready to fire again when the thing pointed it's mouth upwards and sprayed out heat to rain on them. The soldier growled in frustration, summoning his riot shield and covering the top of his head with it as he hunkered down in defenses. He'd get burned around the edges, lowering his HP some...Luckily it wasn't anything that was going to kill him yet, “Get the fuck down!” He yelled mostly towards Chandra if she was still floating around in the skies, considering it had just turned into a damn death trap. Rex's drone would buzz and flutter above the angel, getting caught by one of the falling fireballs and instantly exploding as it protected the girl. Before he even had a chance to counter attack Ray's horse was impaled and the knight was sent hurdling into some buildings, the guy was tough but even that must of hurt him, right? Rex hissed with distaste, toothy frown on his face as he sprinted from his cover and went after the Oni. “I was tryyyyin to be good and not blow everything the fuck up! But you're pissing me off!” Rex taunted before he skidded to a stop just a few feet from the Oni, weapon being dropped for a small black square in each hand, with a one-two toss he'd have both of them sticking to the giant and beeping with a red light. After a brief sprint and roll into some cover, he'd hunker himself down behind his shield as well, teeth gritted tightly as he pulled the det-trigger for his explosives. Boom! raynauld Chandra |

A chill ran down Angel's spine as the storm formed overhead, recalling the near-death experience she had in a previous boss fight where she got the material she used to make her staff. Still, she stood firm. Not only because of her inherent stubbornness even as Rex told her to get somewhere safe, but also for the fact that Raynauld needed some immediate healing after being thrown against a wall. If she moved, Raynauld would be doomed. She had to stay there until Raynauld's health got to a comfortable percentage. She heard the drone explode above her, spraying embers around her, but she kept on using Prayer. She could take a few hits she expected, she'll be fine and if the fireball doesn't push her from her position, so would the other two. And then she heard a loud explosion that heavily damaged the beast. At this moment, Chandra decided to leave her post and fly straight for Raynauld while the monster was still reeling back from the explosives. Wrapping her arms around him from behind, Chandra carried Raynauld away just as the monster struck where he was. She carried him with surprising ease into one of the buildings where they should be safe from the fireballs. That should give him time to recover. Without wasting any time, she casted prayer again to speed up her natural healing aura. At the same time, she looked for Rex, in case he would need some help in getting out too.
