Originally, he'd thought this had been a direct result of his actions prior. Soon after this thought, he'd taken notice of the truly grave mistake he had made. The sobbing didn't indicate the goddess being scared; it indicated her confidence!

"There goes my smooth talk."
Turning toward the monster in pink, the zombies had been surrounding her and rapidly decreasing her health points. Not entirely favoring the savior position, he decided it was necessary in order to preserve such a highly valuable asset. "Hold tight, lovely." A zombie launched itself at him, tackling him to the ground (damage dealt) as it attempt to bite and tear at him. "Nggh! You are nearly as dreary for my tastes, I'm afraid! Besides.." He rushed his palm forward, striking it's chin with enough force to cause it's head to rocket backwards off the body. "How sour you'll be when you learn of what I've done to your mother."
Time was of the essence, quickly collecting himself and gripping the zombie by it's threads. Rushing forth into the mass of zombies, he sliced and hacked at what he could to free a path toward her as the headless corpse fell before her. "Do that consumption thing you do and recover, I'll try and fend them off until you do. Please don't take too long though, my date with The Goddess of The Forsaken draws near." Looking up, whilst cowering in a curled up position, she saw that her companion had created enough space for her. She was no longer being struck, bitten, and clawed at by those ferocious animals any longer, at least for the time being. Nodding in affirmation to his words, she lowered her head to the headless corpse he left in front of her, opening her mouth to begin openly devouring the thing.
The sounds of her teeth crunching through flesh and bone alike could be heard over the cries of the undead, even as loud as they were. Pixels fleeting from her devouring form, she hastily began regenerating her hp pool. Having a low maximum hp made for a quick recovery to full.
"Back, ready, time to kill more! Thanks!" She smiled, leaping up to slice down one that had attempted to get a sneak attack on him while he had been fending off others. "We've gotta find mama, or else I think they'll just keep coming back." She gave him a hesitant glance. "I'll follow your lead."

[attr="class","saschaunshifted"] Within a short amount of time, she'd returned to her prior state; even leaping to save him from a sneaky attacker. "Much appreciated" he'd stated as he watched the zombie fall. She made a point that it was now or never. They needed to locate the mother now or face waves of zombies and a possibly dangerous situation like last time; who knew if they'd be able to make it out of it as easily as this had now. As she stated that she'd follow his lead, a wicked smile remained as he hesitated not.
"My sweet Empress of Death, I shall soon give unto you the love you so desperately desire." Kicking off into a sprint, his blade now focused solely on beheading the zombies as the rushed; covering more ground as their path straight remained. "If possible, minimize the amount of effort used on each zombie. The faster we can reach the stairs or elevator or something the better."

As they progressed the cries grew heavier, soon shifting to screams which to Jack indicated they were getting closer. They had indeed approached a staircase - oh well, it was going to be one or the other either way. He rocketed up said staircase, making quick work of any zombie who attempted to get the jump on them. "I won't use a single ability on them, my love. All of my power will be focused solely on you." He smiled as he gazed toward the ceiling "Isn't that great? I will pour my everything into you, loving you, becoming one with you. I must hurry, she longs for me!"
Eventually, the duo would come before two large doors. The waves of zombies appeared to cease; as did the incessant sobbing and screaming, it had no flavor to it. "You all ready to go, pink? Once we open these doors it's boss time. Take care of any last minute consumption" he pointed to the sea of corpses behind him "There is more than enough to choose from. Hey, maybe you could take some with you just in case you need a quick nibble, yeah?"

With a nod, The Cannibal approached a nearby corpse, using her knife to awkwardly and carelessly carve off a forearm, chewing off the index finger as they approached what would be near the end of the mission.
"Oh, introductions!" She gave a polite curtsy, still holding the severed forearm in her grasp, as she pinched an imaginary skirt. "I am Akeno, Cannibal, dumbass, and member of the Deep, erm, Darkroot Devils." She pursed her lips, furrowing her brow, and contemplating hard, hoping she got the name right.
"And you are?" She made a delicate, somewhat insane, hop-skip-jaunt over towards him, stabbing her knife into the palm of the severed limb to hold it there, while she reached an empty palm out for a handshake to the new ally. "Hopefully we aren't dead by the end of this, otherwise it would make this introduction a big ol' waste of time." She smirked, shrugging her shoulders carelessly.

With all the time that he'd spent with the monster in pink, the battles fought and laughs had, it hadn't crossed his mind to introduce himself even once to her? Odd coming from a man such as he. Normally, he'd want to plant that seed deep within their minds initially, doing so at this point seemed - well, pointless. Regardless, if they were to become allies (should they survive ) this was a necessity beyond anything else. "Yes, I'd completely forgotten about that." He chuckled lightly as she introduced herself. "Cannibal" thought the interior "I'd had my suspicions but I hadn't thought the name to be true. Such a name brings joy to my beating heart." She then mentioned the name of a guild, this in particular had caught his momentary interest. "Darkroot Devils you say?" Did she mean to say that there had been an entire merry band of players like her? Wait a minute, had this been where . . " That man you spoke of earlier, that one infatuated with romance. Is he associated with Darkroot Devils as well? If so, I'd like to meet him as well as the other members of that guild some time. I feel the lot of us would get along swimmingly well." Pushing that thought to the side, she returned him back to reality; informing him that there was a possibility they wouldn't be making it out alive. ... All the more sweeter their romance then. "Right then, with that out of the way? Let us proceed with the finale." The wide doors swing open with force, Jack casually strolling inside as the scenery of the room reveals itself to them. "My... you've truly out done yourself, my love. All of this just to greet little old me? You shouldn't have, you really shouldn't have."Room ReferenceGoddess Reference The apoplectic glare he'd seen outside intensified, the woman appearing more human than he'd imagined prior. Her size was nothing to laugh at, towering both Akeno & Jack by a good few feet as she glared down at the both of them ( more specifically the man responsible for taunting her ). "All my precious babies! You have mercilessly slaughtered them all! MONSTERS! MONSTERS! MONSTERS!" Her voice nigh-shattered glass as she screeched " What have they done to you? What have any of us done to you?!" Jack stepped forward, the blade turning a deep dark black as he hid it behind his hand; making sure Akeno could witness it. "What have you done? Why, shown your lovely expression around me. To live in peace is boring, is it not? True excitement comes from watching others suffer before you! To by hand, dismember, dislocate, and disarm the individual out of sheer love for them and their being; is there no greater joy than this?!" It all happened in a blur, the towering beast rushing forward and grabbing Jack by the throat; suspending him high enough for a fatal drop. "YOU! It is your existence that rattled my children, woke them from their deep slumber! YOU are the reason for all of this!" As her grip tightened - hp dropping dramatically, he was able to muster all the remaining strength he had to activate both abilities. "My fault?... Don't be so audacious." A malicious grin stretched from cheek to cheek, a wave of fear and intimidation washing over the zombie as she lost enough of her concentration to loosen her grip. "You were the one that brought me here.. with those pitiful eyes of yours. I wanted to run up here so badly, you know? Just kill everyone and everything, make the world suffer if it meant scarring you just a bit more; making those wounds just a wee bit deeper. But I managed to do it - yup, that I did. All for this moment, when I could witness the look on your face as you accepted every ounce of the love I feel for you. Ms. Pink?!.." The goddess' eyes widened, Jack's blade digging into her arm as he was soon dropped to the ground. "No...No I..." As a great field of smoke surrounded him, all she witnessed was the worst nightmare in her previous life appear before her. "I didn't mean to... WAIT! DON'T LEAVE ME! DON'T LEEAVE ME!" In this hysterical fit she was forced to endure for another minute, he looked back to Akeno and shouted his command. Akeno pondered briefly how he would interact with her guild friends, and this whole arrangement brought further wonder to the predicament. While she struggled with her mental stability, craving flesh and fighting ruthlessly, her allies seemed a little less... Unhinged, to say the least. Between each of them, they had their own traits and twists that made them unique, but none quite as fucked up as The Cannibal.
Witnessing the ordeal of the fellow crazy speaking with the undead woman, Akeno kind of just scratched her head and watched. Usually, the quests didn't offer this sort of drama. Perhaps it was her play style, all kill and no story. The kind of character that accepts quests without reading their description, follows a marker, and turns it in for the reward.
Though, the rising hunger that dug it's claws into the sides of her mouth when given such a blatant feast... It was much more uncontrollable than usual. Often, it was her companions holding this urge back, tempting her away from her carnivorous atrocities, but to be egged on? A rare occurrence, and a rare opportunity to let loose.
Glowing with heat, a bloodthirsty mist reaching across her form, The Cannibal lazily dropped the severed hand that held her knife, sprinting up to leap, pulling the undead mother from the air to the ground, and in an inferno of fire and pixels, Akeno ripped into her victim. Bite after bite, she tore holes through her enemy, and their hp, leaving them with nothing in moments. The red glow fading with the body in front of her left scorched and TRULY lifeless, The Cannibal stood over her prey.
"That's enough eating for me for today." A chunk had been ripped from the enemy's neck, lethal and grotesque. "Good work, spooky guy!" She smirked, turning back to face her ally through the ordeal. "I'll introduce you to my pals sometime! Nice going!"

[attr="class","saschaunshifted"] A radiant flame consumed her frame, the pink-haired queen of consumption launching forward and unleashing a flurry of attacks APM-enthusiasts would consider god-like. Watching her teeth and claws rip into the corpse of this woman is a work of art in it's own right. It was a damned shame that he wouldn't be able to witness such a sight for some time following this.
She'd have to be busy, right? Questing with those supposed "friends" of hers? One couldn't be so foolish as to attempt to take more of her time. He'd been here for far too long anyhow, there were plenty of more relationships to ignite and the rest of eternity to do so. His well spent time with her would have to suffice for the moment.
"Excellent." As the lifeless zombie soon began to fade into nothingness, the words "Quest Complete" appeared in his vision. "Yes, great work indeed. Though, one more thing before you go?"

"Nice meeting you!" With a smile and a nod, Akeno's finger danced up to accept the friend request. "We should find another quest and slay more beasties together sometime. And I've gotta introduce you to my pals in the guild!" She nodded even more furiously so.
"They're fun folk! One's got a big gun and a buncha techy stuff, he's gun guy. Then another! He's got this big suit of armor, armored guy! And wolf girl, she's a wolf or something! You've gotta meet em'! I'll introduce you guys sometime!" She rambled meaninglessly, as if caught on a tangent at the thought of her guild mates.
"Anyways, I'm gonna scram, so catch ya later. I'm going..." She spun herself in a circle, quick enough to be hastily dizzy, and when she could barely tell which direction she was pointed, she shot her finger out. "That-a-way!" And off she would dash, into the wherever she was headed. And so was her lifestyle, wandering the world.

[attr="class","saschaunshifted"] She mentioned it being nice meeting him, he felt that was an understatement; at least for him. She completely opened his eyes in terms of the playerbase within BWO. Clearly he was among more like-minded individuals than he originally though. Here he was thinking he was to be the antagonist of this fairy tale, good to know that wasn't the case.
"Yes, it was nice meeting you indeed. I am certainly available for questing in the future should you need a second." She then began to speak of her friends and their specific distinguishable features. As she rambled about, he simply chuckled happily; excited that she'd enjoyed his company enough to go so far. "Whenever you all happen to gather for tea, just give me a ring."
And just like that, she'd disappeared within a few words. A woman who truly had changed the entire way he'd seen the game. But amongst the kind heartedness, one question still remained. "What am I to do now?..." He thought for a moment then shrugged "Let's see what's going on in Town Square."
