All of that just to give them another puzzle, really? The Phantom was a fan of fun and games, but this was neither fun nor a game. If anything it felt like a long time out that bored him to death. Ghost sat himself down, placing the Raccoon dog on the floor so he could play with it. By the looks of things they were going to be in the room for awhile if they were going to figure out the hidden message. Ghost wasn't interested in such elaborate mind games leaving that up to Cat to solve.[break][break] Ghost entertained himself with his new pet's idle animation as it stood up rubbing it's paws. The man chuckled, standing himself up to walk around the room. The silly looking creature followed him at a perfect pace between close and far. He stopped himself before the place where the door was supposed to be just so he could trigger the idle animation again. As expected, the Raccoon dog stood back up on it's hind legs rubbing it's paws together. Somehow, it reminded him of Cat.[break][break] He clapped his hands together to praise the talented raccoon dog for it's little trick. What he didn't know was the innate command it came with. The creature started running towards him to gain some speed for it to jump into his arms. The act caught him by surprise to the point that he started to fumble with the chubby creature as it knocked him back. Ghost let out a yell when he felt his body sink right into the mirror, a sensation similar to his own portals. Except, he could feel himself falling quickly. GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY Catharsis had honestly started considering trying something with the pangolin, but he knew that a third time would be too much and Ghost might never talk to him again. It broke his concentration a little that Ghost was just messing around while he was trying to think of something - that was a stunt he preferred to pull, not let someone else get away with, but he said nothing. It wasn't until it was too late that he remembered he had never told Ghost about the raccoon dog's command prompt to run into an owner's arms when clapped at, which he was now realizing was probably only cute when the person knew it was coming. Instead, the raccoon bounced up through the snow, popping up out of it every now and again as it raced towards him. When Ghost fell through the portal and didn't return, Catharsis stopped in his tracks from trying to warn Ghost and reaching out, staring at the place where he'd previously been. For a moment, he honestly considered doing ... nothing. Just figuring out the puzzle on his own and doing the best he could to backtrack to the dungeon's entrance. Then, begrudgingly, he remembered that Ghost had followed him through the trap door the last time, and he let out a hiss. This was stupid. This was probably the dumbest thing he'd done ever since deciding it'd be totally harmless to go ahead and play a fucking video game for a few hours with his singular childhood friend. The fact that thought immediately made him want to die made it instantaneously easier to rush after Ghost and through the mirror - to find himself dropping down. He screamed, immediately certain he was falling to his death below as Ghost must have before him.

He was having flash backs of the wolf's den again. Only, it wasn't the time to think back on traumatizing events he had a pet to save. Ghost tried again, pressing his arms to the side to dive down quicker to reach the half breed creature. He reached out to try and grab it anywhere from the scruff of it's neck to it's tail, missing each time. Left with no other options, Ghost clapped his hands together and waited.[break][break] Like earlier, the raccoon dog turned itself around to face it's owner, it's legs stuck in the running animation. It's paws reached out towards Ghost as he grabbed hold of it, hugging it tightly to himself. He then braced himself for impact as he finally felt himself hit the ground. Instead of hard ground, he plummeted into a pile of snow so tall he sank into it. Ghost coughed, sitting himself up to push through the snow, sliding down to a snow-covered landscape. Well, that can't be good. [break][break] He peered into the distance to try and catch signs of anything worth noting. Nothing but snow for miles. Ghost scratched at his head unsure of what to do next. There was the option of walking until something showed, but did he want to find out what? GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY Cat's screaming was cut short as he fell into something - soft? And cold. Very, very cold. Shivering like a leaf, he swam his way up toward the surface once he realized that putting his feet down just made him sink deeper. Coughing, he finally made his way down to the ground. Conveniently, Ghost was there, still alive. Brushing himself off, he cleared his throat before speaking softly. "So, funny story, I thought it'd be nice if you didn't have to bend over every time you wanted to carry the thing ..." He muttered, before looking at Ghost to see the guy ... was focused on someone else. Cat frowned, somewhat insulted that he wasn't the focus, before he followed the man's gaze, and all he saw was ... way, way too much snow and ice. Just like the rest of this damn dungeon floor. One mound, in particular, seemed much larger than the others. Really, though, all Catharsis saw was a whole lot of ... snow. Nothing too noteworth. "Did you see any sign of an exit?" He asked, certain they'd just hit a dead end and would have to start all over. After all, Ghost had fallen here for a while before he had. CXxpLW5E

Ghost whistled a tune to himself before he cut off by his friend's voice. Sure enough, when Ghost turned around he came face to face with the Empath. Ghost blinked at him as his expression conveyed everything. He was surprised that the man followed him considering his knack for moving away from danger when he saw it. It warmed his heart up at the thought of Cat following him to their demise. For all he knew, they could be stranded in the room for ages if it were some sort of illusion.[break][break] " I like it," Ghost smiled. He brought the raccoon dog up to the man's face, wiggling it around like a toy. " Thanks to that, we escaped that boring puzzle room." He shook his head after as a 'no'to answer Cat's question regarding an exit. Ghost waved his hand at the snow field with an apologetic expression. " Sorry, nothing but snow here, buddy." [break][break] Ghost froze in place when something started to move under the snow just behind him. His eyes widened at Cat when the creature appeared. " What...is....it....?" Ghost whispered through clenched teeth. He was afraid to turn back for a glance or even move from where he stood. GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY There was something different about the way Ghost acted towards him once he saw him, perhaps out of relief from the fact that he hadn't immediately died from the fall. To each his own. Catharsis was hardly one to dwell on that kind of thing with himself, let alone another person. When the creature rose out of the snow, Catharsis was immediately recoiling rather than trying to decipher exactly what the thin, humanoid monster was. He did know, immediately, that it looked undead and- "Don't let it get close to you." He hissed, still focusing on backing up. For some reason, he found himself wishing they were back in the wolf's den. At least that would have been straightforward. This? This he didn't know what to do with. He fired off a schadenfreude, mostly to see if it would even hurt the monster, but then something clasped around the back of his ankle and he gave a shout as he fell backwards, an undead hand locked around the Empath. A disgusted yell raised over his alarmed one as he began to kick at the thing, just hoping to get away from the zombie rising out of the snow and on his feet before the wendigo caught up with him. He let Pudge down into the snow where it plopped right in like a snug cubby hole. He grimaced at the creature's face covered in coarse hair as white as the snow it stood in. It just stared at him with hollowed eyes, groaning. Yeah, no. He wasn't going to be letting that thing touch him.[break][break] Ghost flinched when he heard Cat's yell and when he looked, the player was on his back deep in the snow. A decaying hand held on tightly around his ankle. Ugh, disgusting. Ghost readied his skill to attempt to free the Empath which, wasn't needed. Good old kicking and yelling at the zombie did the trick for Cat as he scrambled back up. They were in a horrible position.[break][break] " Heartseeker, come," Ghost commanded, his hands pressed together then slowly separating to reveal a silver rapier taking form from the two portals he had on his palms. Grasping firmly on the handle, Ghost did his best to slash at the boss monster to buy Cat some time. At least, for the guy to high-tail it out of there. GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY Catharsis wasn't eager to stick around and wait for the next thing to come for him, but he'd noticed Ghost coming to his side. There was some amount of comfort in that, even if they were staring death in the face. It didn't make sense, but there wasn't time to dwell on it even if that was his style. When he caught sight of Ghost pulling out the fanciest rapier he had yet to see in the game, he wolf whistled. "Who's taking care of you?"It had proven as a distraction, but not long enough to keep him from noticing another arm grasping up for him and sidestepping. More zombies. That .. wasn't good, and he was pretty sure his empathic cloaking skill would be useless here. He had a better idea, with enough fear and discomfort in the air to go around. Catharsis exhaled slowly, before a pulse burst out from him in time with his heartbeat, damaging any undead that were around him. As he grabbed for his staff, he moved in time with Ghost rather than moving away. After all, there were no exits in sight. Another pulse knocked into the wendigo itself, threatening to cause some damage over time on top of Ghost's efforts. Still, he was primed to try to move back out of the way. Now that he was closer, he was vaguely aware of the effort they had put into the monster's smell, and just how much longer than normal the boss monster's fingers were. Sdg8r02_ghostHARDMODE: off 2/ 6

Ghost wiggled his eyebrows at Cat, however to imply that wasn't completely wrong before impaling an undead monster in the chest. The creature stumbled back with a groan then disappeared into a mess of pixels. Ghost whistled this time, impressed with the weapon. He turned it over in his hand to admire the work and money that had gone into forging it. It wasn't a gift as Ghost had led Cat to believe; it was his own work. The Phantom felt a surge of pride when another swing reduced another zombie to dust.[break][break] Unbelievable.[break][break] He pointed the sword at the boss, urging for the creature to engage with him in a duel. Unsure of what he was expecting, the gaunt monster began to howl. The sound was eerie and echoed throughout the empty room filling him up with a sense of dread. Something didn't feel right. His cocky smile fell as he began to notice mounds of snow rising. The clumps of it came off to reveal an army of undead, severely outnumbering the duo. He may have been equipped with a weapon to slay the undead, but he wasn't equipped with anything to prepare him to slay an army. GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY Catharsis had been prepared for the thing to try to grab him and leech the life out of him - not for it to sing him a terrible song that was beyond out of tune. He cringed, staggering back even as another pulse shot out from him. He could feel his energy levels dropping with the stance, and he had to cancel it, letting the last pulse falter. When Ghost fell back in line with him and looked to him for guidance about what to do, Cat's voice caught in his throat. He didn't know. Cat knew what to do with compound fractures, gunshot wounds, and car accident victims. He didn't know what to do with someone's nightmare fuel that lived and died according to specific rules fabricated upon nuanced rules that he had never become familiar with. He'd never had any reason to. "I have crowd control skills." He finally managed, even though they both probably knew that they weren't what they should have here - a stronger party. "If you think you can damage it enough for me to not focus on it, I'll - do my best." That was it. It was the best he could offer. Already, he drew a line to summon an auric barrier between where they were and a large portion of the snow was moving. In his bones, he knew it wasn't going to be enough, but his expression just went blank, before he smiled at Ghost. "We can do this."He was well versed in convincing people they had a chance of being okay when he thought otherwise, after all. Why stop now? x|j9ZQpeghostHARDMODE: off 3/ 6

He was hoping it was more of the man doing most of the leg work. Ghost sighed, nodding at the plan. It sounded solid enough for him to try at the very least. He waited until the barrier enclosed around them as the mob began to close in their advance at an astonishing slow pace. To think that they would give zombies accurate movement speed, but no flying abilities on geese. [break][break] Holding his rapier's handle in his mouth, Ghost go into an offensive position. He wasn't quite sure if going all out was the best idea. He noted to himself that doing enough to keep them at bay would be alright in the meantime. Flicking his wrists, Ghost brought out his cards with five in each hand. The snap of the wrist was all it took for the cards to fly, cutting through paper thin rotted flesh. A few actually managed to embed into the skulls of the creatures making him almost want to gag. [break][break] Luckily, with his luck stat being stupidly high, the crowd was beginning to dwindle in numbers. His crits were enough to one-shot them while his normal damage slowed their advance. Set after set, he was starting to feel the burden of the skill's cost. After the last card landed, Ghost just had to sit himself down to recollect himself, breath ragged at this point. What's next was up to his partner. GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY Catharsis had no plan on going down now, taking a step back as Ghost moved to cull some of the undead. That worked just as well, he decided, as it wasn't like their chances were much better. He did his best to keep his distance from both the wendigo and the few remaining undead that were still present. Rather than attacking the smaller mobs, he trusted Ghost to do so, raising his hand instead towards the Wendigo. He trusted Ghost to take care of anything that got too close to him. As he did so, he had to give up and take a step back as a hand burst up through the snow from between his feet. He groaned as the hand scratched at his ankle but didn't manage to grapple him. This was just obnoxious now. Keeping to his plan, he raised his arm again towards the boss, as if to challenge him, before closing his fist. Within moments, the damage started cutting into the wendigo, and Cat smiled as the pixels started to redistribute some between the both of them. Hopefully, they hadn't even needed it yet. He was a healer first and foremost, but the slowness of this boss worried him. The icy lich started to reach out for Cat, and his eyes widened even as he was pretty sure he was out of arms reach, starting to scramble back just in case it had any kind of distance freeze attack or something. It's not like he could trust it not to; he knew nothing about what this thing could or could not do. |0V4R|2wghostHARDMODE: off 4/ 6

Ghost asked in between breaths when he caught sight of the hand attempting to trip up Cat again. As expected, the Empath was too clever to be caught by the same tricks twice. Ghost got up again, brushing off some of the slush on him. He gave Cat some of the spotlight as he watched the man work away at the creature's health. " Not bad for a healer," Ghost chuckled. [break][break] The Wendigo howled from the pain and from it's call, more of the undead that Ghost had mowed down came back up again. It was aggravating that the mobs were respawning quicker than he could catch a break. In his irritation, Ghost stomped his boot down on a hand that reached out at him. He then dug a heel into one of the creatures who moved up to bite at his ankle, destroying it. His expression was that of an unhappy Phantom. His patience was burning down from the repetition.[break][break] Tapping his rapier against the open palm of his hand, Ghost whistled a gentle tune. An idea was brewing and depending on his theory, it should be effective. " I have a skill that will keep all of these things in check," he said nonchalantly, " when I use it, think you can hold the boss off from summoning more? I'll go in for the kill afterwards." GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY "Talking about you or me?" Catharsis replied without even thinking about it, not even bothered but keeping the dialogue flowing meant he knew Ghost was still alive without having to divert his attention from the wendigo's movements. Something about it made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end as it was so much closer to him than he'd like. The sooner they could get out of this the better, and if Ghost had ideas he was more than willing to listen. He watched, not turning his gaze away from the boss monster when he heard the idea. "Do whatever you can, I'll-" His mind was racing trying to think, but the wendigo screeched when it felt threatened. To keep it from doing the same would be to keep it comfortable, to not attack it- He grimaced, but it was an idea. "If you're confident, I can keep its attention, but not forever." He called, forcing himself to keep his tone light and dissonance from the grim feeling growing in his chest. "I really need you to pull through." Then again, somehow that was what Ghost always did. Catharsis stepped forward, until he was just out of range of the wendigo, kiting around the creature and doing his best to stay just barely out of reach without laying a single bit of damage against the thing to threaten it. It would work, but only for a short period of time. Whatever the Phantom had planned, he would need to work fast. 5W0yP2i3ghostHARDMODE: off 5/ 6
