[attr="class","sv"] Trust Me, My Guiding Moonlight The place was certainly well-designed; he had to admit that much, even as he was also feeling that the job that lay ahead was going to be quite grizzly indeed. He stepped down a narrow passageway that had been chipped away and seemingly carved out from the stone. Torches, alit with flame, gave light and warmth. The expressionless NPCs went about their labor, moving periodically from time to time. Each of them barred a pickaxe over the butt of the shoulder. As he strode purposefully over to a ladder that led down to the lower levels, the Warden caught glimpse of some other pathways that led to other parts of the mine where workers were residing. Per the parameters of this quest, as many workers were to be preserved as possible until the day was over. That was strenuous task, especially since they would need to be aware of both themselves and the environment around them to keep from being easily overwhelmed if the numbers were too much for them to handle. Deep in thought, Misha walked over and idly took a moment to overlook the cavern, slowly brushing his lithe fingers on both sides of the wall before sitting on a square bed of rock that jutted from the wall. There was still a bit of time left, so he may as well hold off to rest himself and make plans for the upcoming mission. It was obvious to him that the best place for him to be was up top where he could snipe at the monsters pouring in, but he could still be overwhelmed easily. The caverns had other good places to stay if he needed to block entrance, there was some good chokepoints to rout the enemy. This quest gave him so many ideas that it was hard to sort through them all. He also needed to meet his partner so they could come up with battle strategies. The lower levels would be harder to defend, but the majority of the undead were probably going to come up from that area so it might pay to station near there and then cordon off the other paths as best they could. He could do that with his skills. They might also go around and work their way down from the upper levels, potentially forcing them to deal with two fronts instead of one and putting the miners in immediate danger. Thankfully, they could position the miners as they pleased so they would need to choose wisely before deciding. Misha thought this while staring emptily at the ceiling, watching and listening to the workers up there working and chiseling away at the iron in the stone. It was distracting for his thoughts, but he decided to get used to it for the time being.

[attr="class","adrenalinemain"] "Sorry, I'm late." Zodiac announced as he ushered himself into the cavern.[break][break] His words echoed lightly throughout and disappeared down the ladder. Warm oranges and reds revealed the austere angles in which the cavern portrayed itself, and the repetitive clanks of heavy metal tools composed the monotonous music of the mine. The ceiling was close above. Surrounding the path toward the jutting rock where Misha waited, the walls of the cavern arched toward him, strong pillars of stone cleared by a false handiwork of code sparked the slightest hint of claustrophobia within Zodiac. Yet, he dared not reveal the lump in his throat.[break][break] "Long drop down." Zodiac peered over the plateau they stood on, stroking his chin as he imagined a fatal dive. "Think a Defender and a Utility can do this on their own?"[break][break] These caverns lived up to their name quite certainly. Perhaps, it was designed to be that way, to be limitless: a neverending labyrinth of damp rock and tunnel meant to test the intrepid soul, the foolish spelunker. Maybe within Gargantua existed a hell; these two may very well be the vanguard against it.[break][break] Misha / ty for making the thread! 1/12

[attr="class","sv"] Trust Me, My Guiding Moonlight Plied away from the heaven in his mind, Misha took a second to merely spare a kindly glance at the party he had allied with for this quest before neatly folding his legs beneath him and sitting in seiza form with his legs tucked away. "It is a long drop down. And yes, I do." he replied in a strong, affirmative tone. His neck faced forward a bit stiffly, staring into the abyss and almost wondering if it would welcome him if he jumped. Would his soul be rent apart or gently carried away? Would his body in the real world even feel a thing or would it be like just waking from a pleasant dream as his consciousness faded away? Such thoughts were both entertaining and admittedly frightening to him as well, but he dared not ponder them further. To restrain himself, he stared a glance at Zodiac and just shared a thought with himself. Their introduction hadn't been the neatest or cleanest, but he had been quick to learn that the man was... perhaps cut from a just a similar cloth to himself. Every person is both confined and shackled to his own, but Misha was comfortable with the feeling that the two of them at least had enough in common. Because of that, the white-haired character's reactions were laid out bare and plain. "Nervous too? You sound as though like you don't believe we can handle this." Misha commented after by chance seeing the lump recede in the other man's throat and recognizing the shambling trepidation in his voice. "Even a single man, by right action, can overcome a host of foes. That was what I was taught. We just need to pick the right plan, which we should before it begins. We have 30 miners to work with; we succeed as long as we keep at least 15 or more alive."Misha took a breath to dispel his anxiety, knowing he had thought about this long enough. From their earlier chat, Misha had at least gotten a thin idea of Zodiac's abilities. "I have one skill that will put up a roadblock and keep them from getting at where we position the lion's share of the miners, but the creatures will still have at least a couple other entry points. I say we position most of the miners in the easternmost chamber where the entry is limited and then we have you wait on the upper levels and just snipe at them. Where do you think we can put the other 18?"As he explained, he pointed at the various chokepoints they could use. The east chamber of the mine would fit up to 12 miners and it was the most defensible; both choke points leading there were within sniping distance from the upper level and easy targets for Zo. The big worry was that they could both be overwhelmed if the zombies also came from up top and they were bound to have trouble managing the numbers, "About halfway through, I think we can position you further away and allow you to snipe from the opposite side in case there are more coming than we anticipate. I'll then go in closer and block off both points myself and pick off the ones you can't finish, so long as you don't run out of ammo either. I think I can survive up to the end.""Anything else?" he asked, pushing his head over to Zodiac in case he had gone on for too long. The time was quickly approaching.
[font color="ForestGreen"][b]"Speech Here"[/b][/font] NOTES: 2/12 I make an assumption here that both already have a modest idea of each other's abilities. Let me know if I should revise this. [attr="class","adrenalinemain"] "Well, I'm happy to hear that." Zodiac said plainly.[break][break] After, he squatted and patted Misha's shoulder with a strong yet gentle hand.[break][break] He spoke just a tad louder than usual, hoping to hear his reply ricochet and amplify as it traveled down the hole. Whatever horrors this place concealed would be listening to Zodiac's sultry tones and be lulled into a lethargic submission—in a perfectly programmed world, the Sagitarrian thought.[break][break] Brushing away trivial thoughts, he faced Misha with a changeless smile, examining the man's features carefully like he was critiquing artwork. With an eyepatch over his right, Zodiac's gaze was careful, calculated, and charmingly sleepy.[break][break] "Oh, I'm brimming with confidence. Can't you see?" He looked away.[break][break] Cradling his chin in his curled fingers, Zodiac listened to the man's plans. He nodded every other syllable before picking an arrow to twirl in thought.[break][break] "We can drag some around, can't we? Keep them by us before moving them as we bounce from place to place. And if necessary, we can just throw a miner in to slow them down." A joke. Perhaps, in bad taste—but not for the zombies. Zodiac shrugged. "I'll be able to constrict their openings with my abilities and pick off groups fairly quickly, so I'm sure we'll be fine."[break][break] He tapped the end of his arrow against his cheek as he turned to Misha again. "Hm, nothing I can think of, Mr. Thorough." High-pitched screeches carved up the cavern walls, prompting Zodiac's eye to roll as if tracing the echoes. "That's our cue. I'll have your back—if you have mine."[break][break] Misha / seems great to me!! thanks! 2/12

[attr="class","sv"] Trust Me, My Guiding Moonlight The patting of his shoulder was a bit much and though he neglected to comment, his hand politely made a casual brush off the edge of his sleeve. A moment ago, he had seemed unnerved or at least a little bit hesitant. Now though, Misha had to tilt his head to wonder if it was some kind of front he was putting up. His legs shifted slightly, putting him in a more comfortable position as he thought over Zodiac's suggestion. Not like he minded the confidence, he was confident and rather assured himself. Still though, he had to breach a slight smile along with a chuckle. "It's good to have a plan just in case right." He froze as soon as the screech came up from below, signalling that it was time to begin. With a moment's notice, his bow was drawn and he stood from the sit he had settled into a battle-ready composure. He was prepared, though the look on his face was calm and unhesitantly calculating with his thoughts fresh in his mind. "I'll have your back. Just don't get overwhelmed and we'll be good." He made one last touch on Zodiac, activating his signature magic skill that enwreathed him in a vest of vines and thorns. It would help protect him and perhaps even save their lives if this went well. Misha immediately departed down the opposite direction once the spell was finished, dragging along and ordering around the few miners with verbal directions as he went. Most of them he positioned in the eastern chamber as he had plotted and took a few others to a different spot so they wouldn't put all of their eggs in one basket. He would be counting on Zo's skill and abilities to help hold and snipe them off. The top was also one of his worries so he decided he would need to ensure that didn't get overrun as well. Whatever may come their way, they would need to act fast and keep their wits about them. As the challenge started, Misha spotted the first mobs arriving through the bottom level of the mine and begin climbing up the ladders to the sides. Quickly, he retreated back and began firing arrow after arrow into the monsters that were coming. A couple were just your typical swamp monsters with featureless bug eyes or oozing black goo, but a few were also starting to look like they were going to be a threat and would need to be addressed quickly before they could reach the third level above them..
[font color="ForestGreen"][b]"Speech Here"[/b][/font] NOTES: 3/12 Evanuris: wreathe a single ally in magical vines and thorns through touch, granting a 15% increase in all defense stats and a small boost to their maximum health. for the duration of the ability's effect, 50% of all damage inflicted upon the chosen ally is also reflected back onto the attacker. lastly, the vines also feed off the environment and provide an additional effect depending on current weather conditions. sunny and rainy environments grant the recipient a 5% boost in attack speed. nighttime increases the recipient's evasion by 8%. the spell lasts until the warden cancels it and applies it to another or it is broken by an enemy attack or effect that removes buffs. [attr="class","adrenalinemain"]Misha's touch inspired vines to crawl up and wrap his body. When they reached his armpits, Zodiac quickly lifted his arms as they ventured further to knit his vest. He felt like a trellis or like some stucco wall. Hardly an ideal fashion. However, the thorns looked menacing enough- if the undead could distinguish between flesh and plant.[break][break] "Sweet of you." Zodiac winked as he drew his bow. Swiftly, he readied the arrow he had withdrawn earlier as the screams grew louder and in unison. "Don't miss me too much."[break][break] Zodiac blossomed into action, quickly directing miners this way and that as the horde encroached upon their position. By me! Over there! He felt like a traffic-officer; his safety vest a wreath of vines.[break][break] Immediately, he cast orion's belt at an opening, the fence of arrows slowing and damaging a wave of undead. He whistled, seeing their horrendous forms pulsate and throb.[break][break] "You didn't tell me how ugly they would be. I don't know if I would've accepted the invitation if you did." Zodiac called out, firing arrows.[break][break] He too noticed the stronger members of the horde. As he fired arrows, fingers perpetually caught within the rhythm of their defense, the creatures wailed and popped black.[break][break] Misha / the vine spell is so cool hdu think of it before me >U 3/12

[attr="class","sv"] Trust Me, My Guiding Moonlight Misha chuckled slightly, even as he too was starting to feel the pressure of the hordes crawling up the mine. He kept on firing from above, raining down arrows on one enemy and making them fall before moving backwards and onto the next one. "Perhaps it's best then that I didn't tell you." His stance changed and since the crowd had grown to a point where it would become unmanageable soon, he decided to move onto phase 2 of his plan. Misha swiped his sword from the ground upwards, creating an arcing slash before calling up a wall of twisted roots and vines that rose up to block the way into the chamber where he had positioned most of the miners. The rest were on the levels above him and Zo and huddled away as the undead came up from below. It would protect them and he still had 10 Spirit Arrows left to use. If the elite hordes made it up, he had a few Spirit Arrows he could use to stun them. If they weren't careful, being cornered was going to be inevitable. He had his blade out and that would at least keep him alive against the hordes and shave off the stragglers for the time being. One of the zombies managed to slip through the arrows and rush him, forcing him to quickly draw his katana for a fast, basic slash and managing to just get rid of the last sliver of HP. He still needed to see more of Zodiac's skills, still watching keenly as the hail of arrows really did resemble the star constellation. That skill would do a bit to slow them down as they began to move on from the weaker enemies to the ones that would start to cause a problem. He fired off a few more basic arrows, staggering one of the larger undead that had started to make its way over to where Zodiac was standing and keeping it off balance for the moment. For the time being, it seemed that both of them were managing to draw just enough aggro from the scourge to keep them occupied and not overwhelmed.
[font color="ForestGreen"][b]"Speech Here"[/b][/font] NOTES: 4/12 XDD Thanks. I like how your skills are named off star constellations. RUINATION: the spirit warden slashes upward with their blade, utilizing nature magic to raise a barrier wall of gnarled roots, vines, and thorns directly in front of the user up to a maximum distance of 8 meters. the wall bars passage from enemies and is able to stop most non-elemental attacks from crossing. enemies that are caught up in the attack are thrown backwards and suffer a small amount of bleeding damage from the thorns. the wall can be burned down by fire or cut by stronger enemies and/or bosses.[newclass=".sv ::-webkit-scrollbar"]margin-left:5px;width:5px;background:transparent;border: 0px none;[/newclass] [newclass=".sv ::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb"]background-color: #e9e9af;border: 0px none;[/newclass]

[attr="class","adrenalinemain"]Zodiac called for the miners nearby to retreat. He managed to maintain his side still; the Sagittarian's skills were apt for such an area based objective. When he lifted his bow to the air, Zodiac's brows furrowed. Several arrows were fired to forge ophiuchus' grasp as the zombies were forced into a chokepoint. The arrows punctured the hard ground and lit up their links.[break][break] Ungh! Suddenly, the undead groaned as their health bars steadily decreased. Numbers blinked above them. Their goopy faces conveyed semblances of pain, and the AoE damage softened their constitution to the point where an arrow or two successfully picked them off.[break][break] The foreign sound of another's arrows alerted Zodiac to the stronger MOB.[break][break] "Ah, shit." Zodiac muttered.[break][break] Quickly, he focused the undead down, rapidly firing arrows into its hardy body. He had to ignore the incoming horde briefly; Zodiac trusted his lingering AoE to continue its hard work. After a lengthy assault, the creature finally slumped to its rotting knees.[break][break] "Thanks! How's it going over there!?" Zodiac asked before he turned back to his chokehold.[break][break] The zombies had broken through the tight tunnel they funneled through. Zodiac fired arrow up on arrow as he retreated step by step. His cooldowns were still cycling through their timers.[break][break] Misha / omg thanks misha <3 4/12
