Whirlwind watched nervously as the NPCs and Index continued betting against each other, how long does betting even go!? Thankfully, before her hands could turn white from clutching her folded cards too tightly, the last NPC folded and she let out a relieved breath. "Whoa! You're getting all that money? You could probably eat fancy for a week or something!" She's not even sure why food popped into her mind, but suddenly she really wished she won all that money, mostly for the food, but maybe some for practical things in the video game. "Wait... those cards look really bad, did you seriously just win by pretending to have good cards?! Aww, that's way smarter than what I could have done!" So that meant she could win by literally having a poker face, she could do that... alright, she couldn't, but she could learn! "So are we going to have another game, or are you just the grand poker winner?" index

Index couldn't help but grin harder as Whirlwind started getting surprised with the pot he managed to win. He might even take her suggestion to eat fancy for a week if he wasn't going to need the money for better options. "Yup. The beginner's luck might've rubbed off of me." He wanted to gloat about the win and tell her how easy it was compared to human opponents, but the paladin couldn't find the words to say so. Besides, he already had a good reaction from the bird girl beside him. "And that's how poker works."
Cards were taken away by the dealer when Whirlwind asked the question. "The game usually lasts until the whole deck is used up, and after that, they use another one. I guess it really ends when there's no players left." Still, he wished he was really the grand poker winner, regardless of how ridiculous it sounded.
After the cards were cleared from the table, another set were distributed before Index even noticed. He would have wanted to sit out the rest of the rounds now that he got a big win, though there probably was no problem with playing one last round. "I'll play one last game then. Maybe I'll get one of eat one of those fancy meals since you mentioned them."

"Ugh... I almost don't want to play again, card games get a bit boring after, like, the 5th play, and we're already on the 3rd game!" Even though she was complaining, Whirlwind still held her hand out for a new deck, maybe she was just unused to the game and was confusing her feelings for the game as boredom? She have only played Go Fish before after all! She skimmed her cards, only seeing a few pairs, but if she was like Index she could pretend it was better! "Hey, Index, I'm going to try what you did before! Wish me luck!" She didn't know that NPCs were easier to trick than real people, but she was already feeling pretty confident, so anymore knowledge of how the odds were in her favor would only increase her confidence. "Alright, I'm going for both of win and raise!" She definitely didn't say what she was supposed to say, but her general meaning was probably clear. index

Index would be lying if he didn't say that these kinds of card games bore him for the first time he played. It was different compared to the card games he played as a child, complete with colorful designs and intricate drawings. He also hated the fact that it relied more on luck rather than skill. In the end, it was that very reason why he got to like it. Winning even though you're bad felt good at times. Granted, these kinds of games still rely on psychology and mind games in a more professional level, but that doesn't discredit luck being a factor of winning.
"You're forgetting something." He fanned himself with the cards dealt to him as a reminder to Whirlwind that he was still a contender. One glance at the cards told him that it was a losing hand. He couldn't even find a mere pair to give him a fighting chance in case it got to a stand-off. Since he guessed he wouldn't be able to pull a bluff twice in a row, he decided to fold, placing the cards above the table and giving it a slight nudge towards the center. "Might as well withdraw for now if you're going to win. Well, good luck then."
