Players, NPCs, and the creepy creatures bumping in the night; every single one of them had someone. And here she was alone and pathetic. The plan was simply to enjoy her night, take advantage of the free dinner and drinks then maybe have some fun herself. As the night dragged on, the idea became laughable to her. " I'm gayyyy!" Meilin called out irritably at no one in particular. All she wanted was to have a nice dinner with a fine woman, was it really too much to ask for? It wasn't always fun being this wonderful.[break][break]
Faust had come here with someone, but the moment they realized she wasn't actually interested in them so much as getting in they bailed. It was incredibly rude of them, but she'd survive. It saved her the trouble of getting rid of them later, sure, but it was more difficult to feel good when there was no one to react to any of her wit or antics. Or her new dress. Frowning as she took a sip from a fancy high glass, she was just about to give up the ghost and sulk away when she heard someone call, very specifically, for her help.[break][break]
She hadn't even recognized it was Meilin's voice at first, but the moment she laid eyes on her friend she responded to the call, aggressively elbowing an approaching man out of her way before sliding into the chair beside Meilin with a chipper, "You called for me?"

He deserved it, first of all, and secondly, it was to make way for better company. Her smile curled up devilishly in preparation once she heard the voice, identifying it as female. Whoever it was, she had good taste. Meilin's fingers slid themselves over to the end of the table intending to hold hands with her date for the night. Her eyes trailed from the woman's torso up to her assets before locking eyes with familiar blue eyes. Meilin paused, holding her stare long enough to put the pieces together even with the alcohol working against her. Fuck. Beggars can't be choosers, she told herself. " Faust..." she began with a forced smile, " what are you doing here? Just stopping by to say hello?" She could feel herself slurring slightly, though hopefully not enough for the demon to notice. Faust recognized the disappointment in Meilin's eyes, and she had to admit that that curtailed some of her enthusiasm. Perhaps she had pushed too hard. The asmodeus deflated, forcing a small laugh. "Yeah. You seemed lonely." She said, bluntly. It didn't occur to her to mince her words. "If you want me to go, you can just say so." The Asmodeus decided to remind her softly.[break][break]
She looked around the room, before shrugging and giving a small laugh that was a bit more genuine. "I- I did come here with someone, but ... I'm not sure where they went." She sighed, crossing one leg over the other. "I'd been hoping to get the whole party experience back in my system, but I guess I'll have to wait and see if I survive the game instead." She glanced over at the woman, studying her with blue eyes. Shifting to be more comfortable in her chair, she looked at her a bit more fully.[break][break]
"You don't have to answer if you don't want to," She started, "But what are you doing here? You don't seem to have a date ..." Oh, if Meilin had been dating someone this entire time, everything would make so much sense. Heat rose into her ears at the thought.
