Well, at least it wasn't killing giant rats in a cellar. Or zombie-making flesh-oozes. A quest to protect a farm and kill goblins was so cliche and routine, that it was actually comforting. It helped that the village seemed like a nice enough location, and she would have ample room to deal with goblins at range... though their numbers may prove to be a problem. Still, with all the players around, she probably wouldn't have to tackle this quest alone, and she had no real intention to. Despite not wanting to challenge a potentially dangerous situation alone, Wyrmtooth had not contacted either of the people she had tackled that previous quest in. Blank had seemed helpful enough, and Kingrex was... effective, but she didn't want to push too hard, just yet. She knew she had allies, so pushing them away by appearing to be needy seemed to be the best. Besides, if they wanted to clear this game, they would need to challenge the dungeon. Which meant assembling or joining a party. Which meant making more allies. After all, she had no intention of staying in this game any longer than she had to. Too much left to do in the real world. And thus, Wyrmtooth waited patiently near the starting location for the quest, her massive blow slung over her back, and a thin, cheap book in her hands. "Feels like I'm just reading flavour text..." It was some stuff about the geography of the land. Interesting enough, but it didn't feel genuine. Maybe it was too much to ask that a VR game would have convincing facsimiles of primary sources. Play-ability trumped immersion, she supposed. ▲ @zephyrus @open ● Feel free to drop in. Also, doing dis quest

Seeing that he mostly hung out in Faywood, it wasn't all that surprising the village had grown on him. The food there tasted delicious and the beds were comfortable enough at the inn. When he didn't feel like staying there, the bounty and safety of the woods themselves were perfectly acceptable. Having a quest in the area to tackle made it all the better. How else would he pass his time if not cracking goblin skulls together to teach them a thing or two about messing up his homestead? He meandered lazily, not having much of a destination until red filled his view. Long, red hair cascading down a shapely back, with clothing that looked comfortable enough to maneuver in while also offering protection covering a feminine form. Curious like the cat he was, he hesitated for merely a split second before approaching her, his approach easy enough to detect by the crunching of leaves underneath his high heeled boots. "Good day," Zephyrus greeted with a warm smile, nodding his head so that the ribbons near his ears bounced along with his cropped hair. "Are you waiting for someone or are you getting ready to go out on an adventure? The weather's great for frolicking around these parts today, nyao."✉ tag -- ( wyrmtooth ) ※ pluralboat is best boats MADE BY ★MEULK

Considering that she was waiting for other people to arrive, with the hopes of attaching herself to a party, Wyrmtooth was not taken by surprise by the sudden greeting. Nevertheless, she had to take a moment to work out how to respond. Cat ears and androgyny were one thing, but actually ending her sentence by mimicking something straight out of a dubbed anime... it was a little odd. Maybe the girl - seemed like a girl, at any rate - was just using getting into character as some kind of escape mechanism? A question for a psychologist at a different time, she decided. After a moment's awkward silence, Wyrmtooth closed her book, and stashed it back into her inventory. Her expression remained thoughtful and fairly serious. "Uh... yeah. It is." A perfectly intelligent and dignified response. Wyrmtooth mentally slapped herself. "There's a quest here I want to do, but, all things considered," Wyrmtooth declined to state the facts they had been presented with. No need to dampen the mood of anyone else. "I didn't want to tackle it solo." Wyrmtooth broke eye contact for a moment, summoning some courage as she took stock of her surroundings. Probably would have been an incredibly immersive and enjoyable game, if they weren't being held here against their will. "Are you, um, available?" A moment paced, and some red crept into Wyrmtooth's face. "For a quest I mean," she hastily added, hoping that the cat-featured person wouldn't think she was the kind to just hit on complete strangers like that. ▲ @zephyrus @open ● singularboat is worst boat

"I'm always available," Zephyrus replied with a smirk lighting up his features. Correction or not, he didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to bring some more color to the redhead's cheeks. She looked much more lovely when her face tried to match the shade of her hair. "Which quest is it, again...?" He hummed lightly, opening up his menu to double check. There were too many he had yet to mark off and more being added what felt like every day. After a moment, he nodded his head and closed the transparent screen. "Right, right, goblins. Oh, this could be fun."He stretched his arms high up into the air, then let them drop to his sides. A neck twist from side to side followed, attempting to work out some kinks. They'd be in for a work out with a battle-oriented task. "What's your class specialize in?" Then, as an afterthought, he curtsied. "The alchemist, Zephyrus, at your service, madam."✉ tag -- ( wyrmtooth ) ※ but what about multipliedboat? MADE BY ★MEULK

| Seasons don't fear the reaper ☠ [attr="class","box1"] Faywood Village: A peaceful little gathering of wooden huts dead center in the largest forest of Gargantua. Jared however knew full well the dangers that belie the quaint tranquility of this area, in the form of a dreaded quest that took him by surprise before this world went and swallowed the entire playerbase's consciousness. Those rabid, mad little greenskins had bested him before, due to a fatal error in Jared's strategy; Underestimating the enemy, and not even fully forming anything remotely akin to tactics.
Jared's original plan of attack back then was to bullheadedly charge in and just wipe them out, relying solely on his Earth Emblem to shrug off the attacks and tank the damage. However, he soon learned that their sheer numbers were more than enough to overpower his defensive edge, and cause him to wipe. Ever since then, Jared had avoided the town, especially after the announcement of the game's betrayal. However, this time Jared had a form of prepared plans. He would use his Fire Emblem to swing faster and harder through the green bastard-pixels, and hope he contributed enough to a party to get them all through. Jared had been practicing his arts during that prolonged absence as well, and knew one day he had to go back and defeat the goblins that embarrassed him so, but hopefully not without some sort of aid first.
Arriving to the familiar scene of houses fashioned from hollowed out tree trunks, and commoners following their set routines of walking routes, Jared became slightly hesitant. 'Am i really ready for this?' he thought to himself. 'I definitely don't have any allies here...'. As the doubt began to creep into his mind, he spotted what appeared to be two out-of-place, distinctive females talking to each other; One appeared to be a fiery redheaded archer, the other a cat-eared girl who looked a little...off for the assumed gender, but which Jared payed no mind to. "YO!" he shouted, as he rushed towards them. "You here for 'Goblin Attack Force'?!"

Well, there went any hope that what she had said had only sounded suggestive to her ears. At least it seemed to be simple teasing, not a serious consideration of what she had said. If the cat-girl started actually hitting on her... Wyrmtooth couldn't really think of a plan beyond awkwardly replying. Best to hope that didn't come to pass. At Zephyrus's question, she gestured to the bow slung over her back - a giant thing, easily as tall as Wyrmtooth. "I'm a dragon hunter. It's basically... basically a heavy archer. Can't do much other than shoot arrows." Most archers in videogames were agile things, peppering foes with arrows whilst dodging and jumping around. Something a little more deliberate and durable had been novel enough for her to want to try, though now she kind of wished she had elected to take a less narrowly-focused class. "Oh, and my handle is Wyrmtooth. Nice to meet you, Zephyrus." Hopefully there wouldn't be a question as to why. There wasn't really any good-sounding answer. At least she seemed kind enough, and the curtsy laid to rest the mild confusion around their gender. An alchemist, though... probably had some status ailment and buffing abilities, and probably some healing, too. Seemed their party may be weak in terms of close-range combat, but hopefully they could simply keep the goblins at bay. Seemed that she wasn't the only one to have the idea to gather a stranger or two to tackle this quest. Wyrmtooth wasn't expecting the shouting and sudden charge, and she jumped a little at the newcomer's arrival. "Y-Yeah, that's right." A little over-eager, but there was safety in numbers. Wyrmtooth's jump followed the arrival of another player. Zephyrus turned to reveal his profile, sizing up the new potential teammate with a curious head tilt. He was fairly large, mostly due to the broadness of his shoulders, and looked capable enough for a beginner quest like the one they were on. "Well, then..." He clapped his hands together in front of his chest. "Got ourselves a nice threesome here. I'm not entirely useless in terms of attacking, but I'm not someone you'd want to put in the front lines of a fight. My class is mostly useful for gathering, crafting, and all that good stuff. I use bombs, so if someone here is confident in their ability to herd monsters together, I can dish out some AoE goodies." Ah, he did love his area of attack shenanigans, didn't he? Of course, of course. A two finger salute followed.
