At Krov's answer, Naomi fell silent as she considered what he said. In a way, she'd gotten it right as well. He was afraid of failing, and in turn disappointing her or not being good enough for her as a result of it. It didn't seem to matter if she insisted that it was okay. She wanted him to realize that she would accept him regardless, whether he succeeded or failed. There shouldn't have to be anything else that he needed to do to prove himself to her. That was definitely going to be a discussion they needed to have at length. Later.

Following her boyfriend's summoned NPC, they made their way into a nearby tavern and rented out a room. Before heading upstairs, she asked for a pitcher of water and a glass, bringing them with her into their bedroom. She placed it down on the small side table while Krov laid Carlo down on the bed. Then she moved to sit beside him, brushing back his hair with her fingers. Briefly she looked up when Krov spoke up and prepared to leave, giving him a small smile. "Thanks Krov." She couldn't have done any of this easily without him.

Once the two of them were alone, she looked back down on the bed at the sound of Carlo's groan. With a heavy sigh, she continued to brush his hair with her fingers gently, in the hopes of easing his comfort even for a little bit. "You say that now, but tomorrow you're going to be back to drinking again," she said softly. "Can you sit up long enough to drink? You should drink some water at least."

When he grabbed her hand, she let him take it and laughed softly as he kissed it and held it to his face. She let her fingers touch his cheeks lightly, caressing it as she continued to look down on him with a tender gaze. There was no convincing him to get up and drink, so when he released her hand, she shifted around until she was lying next to him, cuddled nice and tight as she pressed herself against his back.

"Sleep. I'll be here when you wake up," she whispered as she kissed the top of his head. Then she buried her face in the back of his neck, closing her eyes as she prepared to fall asleep with him. A part of her suddenly imagined not being able to hold him like this anymore because he'd been foolish enough to drink himself to death and shivered as she buried herself in his presence even more. "Thank you for saving me from that disgusting man." Even though it was his fault in the first place.
