"Well, this seems to be annoying.
Yeongmae was reading up on the description of the new bounty that has appeared: apparently a troll asking for coin and a thirst for blood has been terrorizing the community for quite some time. For all she knew, this thing could really be dangerous to low level players especially since she herself could have fallen into the same trap if she didn't know any better. With some combat experience under her belt, at least she knew how to handle such things. She walked towards the bounty on her mini map, and got close enough just to see the bridge in question in sight. She didn't want to approach it unprepared, but perhaps someone along the way could help her? Because of the stories circulating, no one has been near the bridge for quite some time, as she noticed the spider webs starting to form near it. This threat needed to be disposed of as quickly as possible, and she didn't think she could do it alone.
She sent out a mass party invite in her area, but didn't expect many to reply. Hopefully at least one person would, since her own attacks are not quite the strongest. She patiently waited down the path from the bridge, just hoping someone with some offensive ability could come and assist her. She waited for what seemed like 45 minutes, even asking in world chat if anyone was available in the area to help dispose of it. So far, nothing. She felt like giving up. Not only did she not want people to die, but the rewards could be of use to her. She continued to sit on a stump, waiting for someone to answer her party invite so she could claim the rewards it offered.

A screen was opened up as he went along his day-to-day activities, reading the chatter and gossip of people stuck within the same game as him. The specifics weren't read at all, with Rai being interested only on the community's reactions. The talk about a tollgate suddenly appearing in the town of origins was the trending topic at the moment, with Rai even receiving a random invite for extermination purposes. He ignored it, of course, without exactly rejecting the invitation. He did not need additional screens on his interface when he's reading, and he especially did not need any troll blocking the path that he had been taking everyday.
"Hey, so, uh, you're in the way." His tone was lazy, to describe it with a word. His attention wasn't even at the present danger, and instead is on a name he was trying to pronounce correctly. Yeongmae? She had been the one that sent him an invitation, though he clearly was interested on other things than community work.
His finger ran across the corners of the virtual screens in front of him, closing each one of them before finally turning his eyes to the troll in front of him. Its large hands extended towards him with its palm up, gesturing to the player to give him what he wants. Rai raised a brow in response, angering it much further and prompting the troll to growl. Its gestures were clear: pay up. While Rai proceeded to ignore the troll and its actions, he could feel its breaths growing deeper and the rumbling sounds of its throat getting more audible as he waited.

"I don't think it's going to move anytime soon."
Yeongmae watched as Rai confronted the giant troll. The troll itself was a lot larger than she imagined, and while it intimidated her a bit, she wasn't the current focus of the bounty's aggression. It didn't make any moves yet, and was at a complete stand still with the young man. Yeongmae, observing from a safe-ish distance, raised an eyebrow at the boy. Perhaps he was looking to get himself killed? That troll could hurt a lot more than he thinks, so perhaps it was in her best interest to help.
"If you want me to help from the backline, I'll help you get rid of this troll," she said, sending him a personalized invite to her party. She stood up and walked closer, opening her grimoire, with the pages seeming to flip by themselves. "Just accept the invite, and I'll make sure you don't die... as fast."
The troll seemed to grow more agitated as the two players confronted it, getting more and more aggressive in nature. If we didn't pay soon, he would outright swing his weapon at us and try to eat our pixelated bodies. But, Yeongmae had no interested in giving away any of her gold, and by the looks of the new guy, seems like he didn't have much to offer the troll either. 2/8 Rai

Another screen had popped up once again, with the sender's name similar to the one he had been reading before. His finger was hovering over the reject button when his attention went to the figure appearing behind him.Get rid of the troll? He just wanted to shoo it away from the bridge, though the prospect of just plain killing it seemed easier. She seemed confident in her ability to defeat the troll based on the way she talked, but of course, confidence does not always equal to actual skill. He sighed, accepting the party invitation and closing the interface screen.
"There. Ya happy?" He had just been getting his weapon out of his inventory when the last straw agitated the troll into taking action. A bolt of electricity had jolted it just by being near Rai, hitting it on the forehead. The sudden movement forced Rai to back away from the bridge, throwing a knife on its foot in an attempt to slow it down. "Looks like I'm gonna die soon now. Rest in peace, me." The words were spoken in a mocking tone. He wasn't going to die in this game anyways. What's with that woman's arrogance with keeping him alive?

Stunned for a moment, the troll looked at its foot with the dagger thrown at it, almost stunned as if it had not expected it. It rubbed it;s forehead where the jolt of electricity hit it, and after a solid two seconds it went off in a rampage, swinging it's arm towards Rai. While it had not exactly been slowed down by the dagger in the foot, it certainly wasn't happy it did that.
Yeongmae smirked and sent a barrage of her purple spirits at the troll, in an attempt to push it back. Each hit was like a strong punch, and attacking it's core didn't seem to slow down at all. She looked over to Rai, who looked quite fresh in the game, and noted his obvious lack of desire to live or rather his ignorance about the situation.
"Hasn't anyone ever taught you to respect your elders, young one?" Yeongmae laughed, walking further away from the troll. Obviously, her spiritual attacks we not causing too much damage, so she decided to go on the offensive. She channeled her Spirit Channel: The Poisoned and had a purple miasma permeate all around them. The poisonous mist seemed to enter the trolls mouth, making it cough a little bit and slowly drained it's health bar. "You seem promising, I'm Yeongmae. Try not to die." She ignored his sarcastic tone, trying to prove her dominance and maturity in the situation.

Whatever she was controlling, it certainly proved to be effective. Damage-wise, his was still better, and that just wasn't because he has some kind of pride for being an attacker and her being a utility player. Well, any kind of attack was good as long as it wouldn't reach him. Her attack bought him enough moment to get in a comfortable range away from the troll, smirking as they finally start to get the advantage. All they need to do now was to snowball their situation to a clean victory.
"On the contrary, I was trying to be respectful enough not to mention your age. I thought women hated that, ma'am." The 'ma'am' part being emphasized. Smirking, he let himself get relaxed for a while, watching the mage do work with her spells. Golf claps were given as he saw the effects it gave to the troll, stopping only when she spoke. "You really want me to die, huh?" Knives were drawn from his pockets, throwing each of them at the troll and trying to push it back to the mist. He wasn't sure how long her spell lasts, but it might charge at them as soon as it ended. Well, maybe madam Yeongmae had more tricks up her sleeve, cause he was pretty sure he did not have any of them to begin with.

"Oh, watch your tongue. I'm not that old, just old enough to have two degrees and a high-salary job... Well, did at least." Yeongmae slowed her speech down as reality set in, she wasn't in Korea anymore. No, she was in this game. Possibly forever. That didn't matter now, however, because right now this is her reality, despite being virtual.
The troll stopped it's coughing fit and had a moment to collect itself, it's health bar dropping at a considerable rate. The poison was doing it's magic, and the knives being thrown at the troll seemed to deliver some sort of shock to him. This enraged the troll even more, having it swing its club at Rai who was pelting it with shocking blades.
"What's that you got, static butterknives?" she said jokingly, trying to ease the tension. "My bad breath can't do nearly as much as that." Which was true, her mist didn't do as much as his basic attacks, but it's all she had for awhile. SHe had channeled her poison for about a minute and a half at this point, the troll now trying to still hit Rai, whether he's been successful or not hadn't been evaluated. "Once you're low on health, I'll heal you up!"

"Wow, okay let's say I'm impressed. I'll give you full credit for that, mom. What are you doing playing a shitty game like this if you got a career that good? Miss CEO can't die doing things that college dropouts waste their time doing, y'know." He wasn't going to mention his academic achievements just because he mentioned hers, more specifically because it wasn't something to brag about.
As soon as the thick mist faded away, the image of a club going straight at him flashed in his eyes. He had not expected it to recover so soon after that poison attack, but he guessed a troll's regenerative ability wasn't something to laugh at. It hit him squarely on his side, coughing a bit and then throwing a knife at its face before skedaddling afterwards. "Static... butterknives?" he repeated. "Yeah, pretty much."
The moment that his little act bought took longer than expected. "I regenerate on my own, but thank you very much, boss ma'am." His finger pointed above his health bar, where his passive skill had slowly been adding a bit of health to the numbers. He shrugged his own words easily. He'd rather have someone else waste their own resources for his health to be honest. "Well, a heal is still appreciated."

Yeongmae laughed, amused by Rai's commentary. Not laughing at him, but laughing at his seemingly ignorant comments. "I'm not a CEO, I am a professional gamer: Rose the top ranks of many mobile RPGs and a few MMOs, and I had a lot of streamers... Until this, since I have no idea where my body is right now. But, we all have to make a living somehow, I'm just glad you're in this reality helping me fi--"
Yeongmae was interuptted by an immediate smack to the chest. The troll eventually caught on to Yeongmae's channelling ability and tried to go after her, since that was adding to Rai's electric attacks. She got knocked back and fell to the ground, her health bar taking a sizeable chuck. She stopped the channel voluntarily, and decided to go for another round of strategy. It seemed distracted earlier by the confusing hits, so she decided maybe hitting it's head with her attacks could confuse it. She ran to the middle of the bridge and started slinging her spirits aimed at it's head, and in doing so the troll seemed to get more and more confused or dizzy, as the froce caused it's head to bobble.
"I'll keep it distracted, go for it's legs to bring him to his knees!" Yeongmae told Rai, going full on commandress mode. She wanted to take it down fast, as it was not going to go down easy.

Two degrees just to become a professional gamer? His face was painted with confusion, unable to add up what was going on in his head. Rai was a very simple man, and thinking was just too much work for him. One thing was for sure though; Yeongmae was either too proud of her achievements or that she was just plain bragging at this point. Not that her reason mattered to him though. It wasn't like he'd be jealous or anything since he already gave up on becoming a useful member of society ages ago.
It wasn't only the spirit medium that was surprised with the troll's sudden attack. "Oi, I was supposed to be the one dying. The gag's gone now." Knives were readied in the spaces between his right fingers, throwing the set at the troll's back to cover for Yeongmae. Individual strikes followed with a one second interval each. "You don't have to tell me, boss." As Yeongmae got to the bridge, the troll's attention had shifted to Rai. Being the nearest target, it rushed straight at him.
Instead of trying to outrun the troll, Rai waited on his spot, bracing for the attack. It came at his with its club, raising it over its head and swinging it in a predictable manner. Ducking the attack, the Capacitor dodged the swing and touched the troll with his left hand, stunning it momentarily. He took the time to run away to another side, throwing a knife at its knees as soon as the stun ended. "Watch'a got there? Got some special move or something that you needed me to distract it?"

Yeongmae kept assaulting the troll with her spirit attacks, trying to keep it disoriented. "All I got left is a healing spell, and that's for if we really need health, but right now we just have to get it low on health." She looked around to see if there was anything around that could help expidite the process... What could they do to vanquish the troll quicker? Perhaps some form of environmental damage?
Yeongmae then realized that she was on a bridge, and holy cow was that fall something that could do some serious damage. It wasn't major but it could leave a few broken bones here and there. In private chat, she sent this to Rai: Let's try and get it on the bridge and knock it over. It's clumsy, and the fall damage should hurt it significantly. We can attack it from higher ground without us getting hurt as bad. Hopefully he'll have time to read it and adjust, but Yeongmae was already on the opposite side of the bridge, waiting to lure the troll over to knock it over.

Aaaand another screen had popped up on his interface as he was fighting. "You expect me to read all this while I dodge?" A quick skim was all he took to get the gist of her strategy, though he finished reading just in time to dodge another attack from the troll and stun it once again with his left palm. "Well, I can, but this is abuse!" Knives were drawn quickly from his pockets, throwing each of them one after the other as he walked backwards. By this point, he wasn't aiming anywhere in particular, but just enough for him to get the attention of the troll.
As soon as it moved, the attacks stopped coming and Rai broke off to a sprint towards the bridge. "I'm going over there! Do your thing and make your stream viewers proud or something." He wasn't sure how she was going to do it- maybe with spirits, perhaps- but surely, she wouldn't force him to do all the work and reason it out that she already was the one that came up with the plan. Rai wasn't the thinking-type, but that doesn't mean he'd be like one of a mafia boss's goons.

"Okay, keep it in the middle, I'll try and do what I can..." she said, still assaulting the troll with her spirits. Her energy was getting low, but she knew that this was the only chance they would halve at killing it. As the troll saw Rai run towards her, it also tried coming by, albeit stumbling and trying to swat her spirits away like flies. In fact, she now just had them swirling his head and attacking once and a while, as to try and get him as disoriented as possible. Eventually, the troll made it halfway to the bridge, and here she now aimed her spirits to heavily attack one of the troll's sides, in order to get it to back up to the edge.
Her plan worked, kind of. The troll backed off to one side still trying to swat her spirits out of the way. She smiled as she knew that any moment, he could fall over the bridge. His health bar was getting really low now at this point, but this fall should be the last little bit they need.
"Attack it now! Make it fall over!" she said to Rai, hoping he would follow suit. This was the moment of truth.

Rai kept on going, not taking a moment to look back. He assumed it would already be at his heels once he takes the time to actually turn, and judging by the hit he took earlier, it wasn't going to be pretty to be caught unexpected. He got his instructions from Yeongmae, still wondering if he should really be blindly following them. Not like he had any better choice at the moment. As soon as he got past the middle point of the bridge, he turned, ready to take a hit if necessary. Surprisingly, there was no impact that met him as he stopped.
"Attacking is my job." As soon as it stopped in place, ran in with his palm ready. The troll was stunned as he arrived, ending with a push assisted with his knife. The weight was too much for him, though the Electric Field finally did its job, with an explosion happening on the point of contact as the electricity rushed through the troll's body. He flew a small distance away while the troll fell over to its doom below the bridge. "Is it done, or...?"

"Well, it's no longer on the screen... so yeah, we took care of it. That was really nice. Great job!" Yeongmae congratulated both her and Rai in the effort to destroy the troll and free the bridge for both Rai and the citizens of the town. "Say, we did really well together. I'm glad we had the pleasure of partying up." Yeongmae didn't know what else to do, since she really didn't have much experience with other party members outside of the one raid she did. Perhaps... Sending a friend request over?
Yeongmae opened up her screen and sent Rai a friend request, that way they can PM whenever they needed each other. She was happy it all ended this way, cause who knows what could have happened had the troll been left to terrorize the townsfolk and perhaps Rai.
"If you ever need a healer, let me know. I'm always around somewhere, and having friends wouldn't be the worst thing in this world."
She laughed and got closer to Rai, smiling at him with a warm smile and kind eyes. She hadn't been this kind to anyone, but for some reason he felt like a little brother to her, for now at least. She giggled and pointed to his knives, saying "looks like those butterknives do come in handy~" Was this her attempt at flirting?
