three figures stood in close quarters in the dark of the forest, surrounded by dark figures scrambling about the trees and brush. there were more than five of them, and many more legs, each figure owning eight. the fanged monsters needed to feast, fresh blood and meat, they simply couldn't resist.
however, as one giant arachnid sprung forward to bite into one of the figure's arms, it found itself filled with disappoint. for there was no fresh blood, and certainly no meat. its many eyes stared forward into a body constructed only of bone, and soon found a blade quickly inserted into its brain.
another soon found its body severed in half, performed by a quick swing of a large blackened scythe. the owner of this weapon was no skeleton, having flesh, though pale. her hair was jet black, and upon her dome sat two curved horns. accompanying this otherwordly look were two skeletal wings and eyes that seemed to glow with a supernatural energy.
in this moment, this being only thought of how to swing her weapon and cast her spells. nothing else mattered. she had no exact strategy, plan, or anything of that sort.
sliiiiiiiiick.
another spider met its end with the clean slice of a blade, leaving but two more. nothing else mattered - only swinging her weapon. this was life, and it was far more satisfying than what she had ever remembered in that other world. the final enemy turned to run, though it was too late, as it would find its abdomen impaled into the ground. an explosion of pixels, and it was over.
the dark woman leaned over her scythe after the battle, taking a breath as if she were holding it throughout the entire fight. "shitty low level enemies, when am i gonna find something good?"

he watched from a distance as the figure trailed death around her, the scythe spinning through the arachnids in a marvelous display of skill. Nothing seemed to be able to stand in the path of the Necromancer. Well, nothing at this level anyway.
A soft sigh escaped his lips as he watched the carnage in front of him. Even though they were easily ripping through them, the experience and drops that they would gain was far too meager for this to be really worth any of their time. These... arachnids, were weak. Useless for him. They were barely even worth his time to capture, so he simply didn't bother. He didn't need to. Not with his class and nature.
The other three were ahead of him, surrounded by a veritable swarm of spiders. The clicking of their mandibles, the rustling of their legs, and the bloodcurdling cries they let out as the trio in front ravaged them filled the air. Death incarnate seemed to have taken form here, and the trio continued to slay the foul beasts nonstop.
Whenever a spider got through, as rare as that seemed to be, Jeremiah, or King, as was displayed above his head, would unleash a small burst of healing, refreshing light soothing any pain and healing the small wounds the spiders would inflict.
The battle continued, and finally, it ended. The last spider was speared through the ground, its body convulsing before exploding into a spread of pixels. With the threat eradicated, King walked over to the group.
Hearing the complaint of the necromancer, he spoke up, an idea forming. "Well, if you want stronger enemies, I know of a location where you could find some." A small grin played across his face, as his fingers tapped along his staff. "Would you be interested?"

He didn't even notice the pair further down the treeline as he spilled down the bank.
Their fight had brought them all this way; the figure in the black armour had dispensed with weaponry a few moments ago, and in a blur of limbs, armor on chitin, the spider and the Vindicator skidded down the hill. A spray of dirt preceded their arrival.
Only luck and gravity meant Fury ended up on top. The spider beneath him stared up, and the red of his visor stared back down. It writhed. It went to bite. It kicked its legs in a frenzy. Pinned. Fury pulled back his clenched, armoured fist and launched it forwards. Crunch.
Shaking the spider's innards clean off his gauntlet as they fragmented into data, Fury stood up and looked to the blue-haired man and the woman in black. His visor hummed.
"Good place to hunt," Fury remarked. His voice was gravelly and hollow, amplified yet distorted by the armour. He strolled towards them, leaves crunching underfoot. "Fury." He held his hands down by his sides.

Farsider peered down at the group that had formed below him. He just wanted to nap, but with his hunt for the other white haired player having led him to too many dead ends... He really needed to get some income. The girl with the scythe and the armored guy were definitely kind of spooky, but at least the blue haired guy looked kind of chill. Lifting himself up to a seated position upon the branch before sliding completely off it. "So, what's the haps then?" He took note of their nameplates, something which he'd grown used to doing. It really helped, knowing usernames without having to go through dull introduction dialogue. "Fury. King. Styx." The swordsman nodded to each of the PC's, removing his katana from its koshirae before making a singular strike downward. The spider attempting to sneak up on him was shattered into fragments of data just as its head would have been severed by the blade. Farsider smiled, sheathing his beginner weapon before cracking his fingers and stepping forward. Getting a better look at these guys, they seemed to be in a similar position as him as far as level and gear was concerned. Still, the party composition was a little wonky. Two supports and two tanks could do well enough, but without a DPS they would be fighting handicapped. "I believe you mentioned something about stronger enemies?" He leaned forward and looked up at the Archon, "Sounds like an opportunity for big pay. I'm listening."

a response to her comment - that wasn't exactly expected. she must of been letting her guard down more than she had thought, it wasn't often a player or enemy came this close into her range without her knowing prior. "oh, wow, are those horns or something?" nothing like she had ever seen before, the character creator certainly allowed for some funny looking models. "nevermind, harder enemies?"
another one came - this one clad in a dark armor. it was stylish, that's for sure. "no, not really. it's just spiders and low level shit." she sighed - maybe he wasn't nearly as awesome as he looked. there had to be tougher enemies, or maybe even better, tougher people, around to kill. another player stepped out of the brush, a rather lazy white-haired swordsman. what an interesting ensemble.
"we look like some sort of league of villains or something!" the slender woman exclaimed, perking up on her weapon. her eyes turned back to the archon, hoping for information that would leave to something less than boring.
