Faust had gone to the witch hoping for some kind of help. She wasn't sure exactly what kind of help she needed, but maybe the lady could help her with her skills, or even with her lack-of-goat problem. Neither seemed to be the case. In fact, the Asmodeus had been enlisted to help out the witch! Not exactly how she'd expected to spend her day, but she'd hit the wrong button and accepted the quest instead of rejecting it. Now, she was left between dealing with the witch's sad face when she told her no, and the decision to put on a good face at the risk of far worse consequences later on simply so that she could avoid breaking her word. See, she'd been tasked to help out with cooking. Most people would be able to follow simple directions and turn out with something perhaps not wonderful, but acceptable. After all, it was a game; how hard could it be?[break][break]

However, these people had never met anyone with Faust's particular, ah, talent for cooking. Or rather, a complete lack thereof. Murphy's law ruled the moment Faust stepped foot inside anything resembling a kitchen; whatever could possibly go wrong, would. And so, that was why the woman stood where she'd been when the witch had left to answer a knock on the door, staring at the pots and pans like they were snakes coiled to strike rather than simple appliances. The recipe book? Oh, no. She'd mess that up irreparably for the next person to pass through here. Out of the question.

Aster had visited the witch with a favor only to be asked to do one beforehand. Well, that was fair. Luckily, the task was something that she considered herself quite good at: cooking. Having spent all those years watching cooking shows, she sure hoped to god that she was good at it. Pocketing a grocery list, Aster had set out to complete the ingredients run first. It had taken her a good hour and a half to come back with four plastic bags filled up with fresh produce and some pre-packaged noodles. The witch did ask for a full-blown dinner and Aster was determined to deliver on that, already planning the dishes in her head.

"Faust?" Aster blinked at the floating woman, surprised to see her in the kitchen. The pink-haired girl started to laugh, her friend looked so out of place among the kitchenware. "Are you going to be my assistant for today?" Aster set down the bags on the ground, pulling out each ingredient, laying it out on the table. The woman nodded, proud that she had gotten every item on her list. Tying her hair back, Aster made sure to also prepare herself for the full cooking experience. "Y'know, I've never actually cooked a fancy meal for anyone so I'm pretty stoked."

When someone burst through the door, Faust jumped with a squeak. This was it, she thought. The witch had caught on to her lie about how well she could handle any challenge, and had come to beat her out of the store with a broom. It was wide blue eyes that turned towards something much worse: her one actual friend so far. Faust turned a bright shade of pink, realizing that someone she desperately wanted to impress was about to see her pretty much at her worst.[break][break]

"I-I-I-" She started, staring at all of the bags of groceries in Aster's arms. "I can help!" She insisted, the words replacing the admission that had been trying so desperately to claw its way out of her throat, floating towards her and reaching out to offer to pick something up, but then Aster put the bags on the ground and Faust put her hands over her mouth. Oh, no. Who knew the last time the kitchen floor had been mopped?[break][break]

"Let me just put these on the counter!" She insisted, doing her best to help now with the knowledge that she'd be horrifically useless later on during the actual cooking part. She picked up just one of the bags, carefully, before floating towards the counter and staring blankly at the mess. It was actually clean, but Faust couldn't make heads or tails of any of the utensils or kitchenware. "Uhh..." Making her best guess, she set it down in an empty space before peering inside, trying to make any kind of sense of the ingredients.[break][break]

"Just, uhhh, just tell me what you need me to do." For the NPC she would have probably just bailed, but she really wanted to impress Aster.
