" there's no exit here," she shouted out, " i think we've hit a dead end. we might have to go back once the beastly thing gives up and leaves." turning on her heel, she was prepared to go back when a screen had shown up with the words: dead end. it was then that the entire room was covered with the red, glitched screens until a flash of light had blinded her temporarily, revealing a new enemy. Faust had been hoping for something expansive and grand and exciting at the end of the cramped tunnel Charlatan had brought them to, and so she frowned when they entered a small, circular room. The moment she'd broken into freedom, she'd floated back up, but she sagged slightly in her hover as if physically pulled down by her lack of enthusiasm. Yeah, turning around sounded like a lot more fun, even if it meant going right back down into the cold, wet, solid ground and walking to get there again.[break][break]
Faust jumped back when everything turned red, her heart skipping a beat from the jump scare. A dead end? What did that mean? Faust wasn't sure; she hadn't paid attention to any of the game mechanics. When she was able to blink her eyes open, she looked up to see a monster even bigger than the creature they'd just escaped, appearing as though it was made entirely of ice.[break][break]
She gasped, but not of fear. "Oh, she's beautiful, don't you think?" Faust asked, not hesitating in the least before lashing out with the hand not clasped in a gauntlet but a chain that didn't touch her own skin, a ball of dark energy lashing towards the monster that obviously meant them ill will. [break][break] the thief chose to stand her ground, observing the devourer's reaction to the asmodeus' unfriendly greeting. there wasn't much she could do in this situation. getting close to something so powerful would only mean death in one hit; a shameful way to go. " oh, yes. i like her as well, reminds me of a certain aunt back at home. she was well known for her abnormal appetite and coincidentally, the same way her jaw unhinged just like that." the woman smirked as the attack had damaged the boss right through it's armor, shards of ice falling from it's chest. with a roar, it summoned a small group of miniature spawns. [attr="class","posty"] [attr="class","posttext"] Faust laughed softly, raising her focus arm but tilting it while Arin spoke and struck at the monster. The woman was funny, too! "Reminders of home are always so nice, aren't they?" As with raid bosses, she just wasn't as worried about this dungeon monster as people always told her she should be. Taking the time she was supposedly wasting, Faust activated golden chain deal, the black chain foci around her wrist spinning some as it took on a dark purple, then a faint blue, then a faint green, and then the vibrant purple once more. She didn't really have a choice, so she pulled her hand into a fist the moment the purple came back, locking into the vicious amount of damage the attacker's presence offered to her.[break][break] Her eyes were shining with excitement when all of the miniature devourers appeared, and she cooed. "Oh, just look at them. They're adorable." She said, as the babies rushed their way. One lunged as she spoke, and she shifted her stance to catch it by the throat in the hand covered in her gauntlet, snapping its neck. She released it, but it had burst into pixels before it hit the ground. The spawns were considerably weaker than their mother. She floated further up, turning her attention to the main target and reactivating golden chain deal. A ball of dark energy formed towards the monster's center, causing a severe amount of burst damage and then lingering to cause damage over time as long as the devourer remained in place.[break][break] She doubted that she would be so convenient as to sit still and eat the damage, but it was worth a try.[break][break]

[break][break] the female turned away from the other attacker to keep herself occupied with dealing with the runts. the asmodeus was doing damage to the boss leaving her with nothing to worry about. there was no need for her to risk her life if this other attacker was capable of subduing the boss singlehandedly. [attr="class","posty"] [attr="class","posttext"] Faust glanced over when she realized she was the only one attacking the boss, but realized then that in making herself inaccessible to the baby devourers she'd left them with only one target to focus on. A shame, but it made sense. "Looks like a party over there," She called cheerily, "Let me know if you're not having fun babysitting, and we can switch it up!" Honestly, she hadn't noticed any reaction to her own fighting; she was too caught up in the thrill of the fight.[break][break] Eager to turn her attention to the devourer, she dove to the side as the monster roared just before a charge right towards her. The great beast rammed right into the side of the cave, the walls shaking while the Asmodeus shook herself off from having barely dodged in time. It would really only take one hit from that monster not to make it at all, and she wasn't interested in giving her the chance. Turning in the air to face the creature, Faust raised her foci hand again and let her gauntlet hand hang by her side. Waiting on her cooldown to ease, she fired off some basic magical attacks in quick succession. Sure, she could use angel's trumpet, but it would be better to save her mana for the finisher.[break][break] The Devourer had just started to rise by the time the cooldown was up and she cast the golden chain deal again, aiming for the monster's heart. After all, she had no interest in letting her fun end here.[break][break]
