I am Boats, and, no, I don't why I call myself that either.
I am a Canadian-born dual citizen of both Canada and New Zealand, and, for the past half-year, I've been living and working in Tokyo as a preschool teacher. I'm a Japanese history nerd, as evidenced by my major, and the fact that I'm living on my own here. As far as hobbies go, I, somewhat predictably, read a fair bit of manga and novels, watch a lot of anime, and play my fair share of visual novels and similar games. Aside from gaming, my other main hobby is playing and judging Magic: the Gathering, my main formats being commander, draft and pauper, though I do dabble in modern and Momir basic as well. If anyone's on MTGO, hit me up, and we can battle. Since I am in a somewhat unfamiliar land, I also do a fair bit of hiking and sightseeing, when weather permits. I'm also looking at getting back into martial arts, once I find I decent dojo. In terms of music, I mainly listen to metal, though I do dabble in classical and orchestral, as well as a bizarre video/audio thing called MADs. If you're curious, I can link a few choice examples.
As a roleplayer, most of my experience is in tabletop gaming, though, bizarrely enough, I've never really played DnD. I may be a bit rusty at forum RPG sutff, but I think I'm experienced enough to get back into the swing of things pretty quickly.
