"where could they hide them..?"

even though the trail seemed to be rather desolate, there were a few others who had decided to come up this way as well. keeping to herself, she decided not to engage them in any way. a few were in fact npcs, but she didn't bother to talk to anyone at the moment. she was more so curious as to where nyx was and then of course, where these eggs could in fact be.

events like these would put eggs in various places and in the peaks, it wouldn't be rare to see one of these eggs hiding in a cave or even in one of the higher cliffs of the mountains themselves. they could even be hiding right under ones nose, but nophi was still unable to just decide where to start looking. off the trail made the most sense though. as she stood their contemplating the possible locations for eggs, she heard a loud 'boo!' that immediately startled her.

"ah! wh-what the? oh my god! why'd you have to do that?" she responded as she finally saw who it was. punching toward nyx against his shoulder, she was a little annoyed by his antics. he was always like this toward her. she should be used to it by now, yet she seemed to fall for it all the time. "you would be late. anyways, glad you ended up coming. you know i didn't want to do this alone. know what we're doing right?"

she looked over nyx, an old friend from of hers since she had been playing this game. "dino eggs! that's the goal here, nyx. and we're going to find them, got it?"

honestly, the fact that he took it upon himself to just scare her was incredibly childish. yet this meant he would get payback soon enough. she was already planning it over in her head. however that was for another time. they had more pressing matters to deal with at the moment. crossing her arms, she watched as he laughed and fixed her coat once more.

"come on! don't tell me you didn't hear about this? so many people were buzzing on about this being some cool event and i don't want to miss it this time," she stated, staring at him as he just seemed so disinterested in this. "come on, don't be such like that. i've seen some of the mounts already! they all look so cool. i think i saw one flying, too!" she added, trying to make this even more appealing for him. if this didn't work, she did have a back up plan to get him to come along.

nophica rolled her eyes at his comment about being 'on time' replying with a prolonged, "riiiight." she waited for his response, hoping that he would in fact decide to stick around and at least help her find an egg, even if he didn't want to. upon hearing that he was going to stay, she smiled and the excitement grew once more turning her gaze off the trail she was walking, she heard him try to rush her. "alright then, off the trail we go!" she started to walk, heading off the intended trail and going down a hill.

the hill itself was fairly rocky and covered in snow. it wasn't too difficult to traverse if one was paying any attention. she had to be careful, but also wanted to keep an eye out for some eggs. "careful, got it? don't want to have to see you tumble your way down the cliff side." she spoke out, trying to keep the conversation going. "i figured that the eggs would be in pretty easy to get spots, but could also be in pretty hard to find spots too. you know, to make the rarer eggs that much more rewarding or something."

continuing down the path, she found a smaller path that could be walked. it was just wide enough that the two could safely walk, but she still wanted to be careful. they were about fifty feet from the main trail up the hill. "guess we can look through here. maybe spot a cave or something that might have one." she stated as she looked back to see nyx. "see anything from your end?"

after hearing that comment about him only being here for her, she felt glad that she had at least one good friend among gargantua. nevertheless she was a bit disappointed that her attempt to further inspire him to try really hard to find an egg. "well i am grateful that you're hear, nyx. let's get going then." she offered a smile before he acknowledged that they should start.

it wasn't that difficult for nophi to find a people to socialize with in this world, but it was definitely nice to know she could rely on someone given the chance. it was something that she was definitely happy about. the two managed to make it down the hill, finding the small path some distance away from the main trail. the weather was still cold, but it wasn't too bad. it could have also been worse by it snowing. "not exactly. we could also just be incredibly lucky to find an egg that has a rare mount in it." she responded, looking around the area.

as she began to traverse through the path, she kept her eyes open in case she just happened to see any eggs along the path. her attention turned to nyx as he mentioned a cave not far. she looked toward the cave and nodded. "i see it! seems like a good place to start," she added before heading toward the cave. the path toward it was a bit more narrow, yet she managed to make it toward the mouth of the cave without any issue. peering into the cave, she noticed that the that the cave was pretty deep.

"there's some light in here, but not a lot. it doesn't look that deep either." she started to walk into the cave, trying to stay as dry as possible. the water had to be coming from somewhere too. perhaps snow was melting and was running off from somewhere. she walked several feet in, noticing the light starting to dim as she pushed into the cave deeper. in front of her was a pile of rocks and rubble covered in snow.

"you still behind me?" she asked, turning her gaze to see if was alright before turning back in front of her. that's when she noticed something different. "hey nyx, i think i found something!"

"that's definitely the word for it."

nophica responded, eyeing the pile of rocks that was somewhat covered in snow. she had started to move forward, but before she stepped out she noticed nyx doing the same. maybe he actually was into this event, but was just hiding it. that or he wanted to just get the hell out of this place. the latter was definitely the more believable reason. regardless of that, she stepped forward toward the pile and started to dig through them.

"careful, if there is an egg here, i wouldn't want it to get broken. wait, would it even break if its an event item like this?" she asked, taking one large rock after an other away from the pile and setting it on the ground. "rock. no, another rock.. no egg. bigger rock. oh! this one looks like an egg..but its just another rock." she continued to say one after another. she took a moment to look over the pile. turning her gaze, she watched nyx continue to dig through.

"hm, no luck yet.. this sucks.." she said, hoping that she would find them already. yet looking back toward the pile, she saw something that was different than the others. a different shade of gray and it seemed almost smoother than the others at a glance. narrowing her gaze she went for it, grabbing onto the rock and easing it out. "wait! i think.. i got-" and with a big heave, she pulled the egg out from the piled and landed right on her rear. "one! i got an egg!"

"hurry up and find one will you!" she teased, sticking her tongue out at him.
