They had to spend the night. After their little adventure with Quickfinger, another notification popped up in the game with the announcement of some kind of race that was taking place in a few days time. It had sounded interesting, something to take part in just for the fun of it. However, as they continued to read, they soon learned that they would have to go out and find dinosaurs to participate. Something that sounded a lot more dangerous for something as simple as a race. Noel was a little hesitant at first but since they were already in the area, there would be no point in traveling back until they found one.
And so Noel had the difficult task of convincing Theo to stay a little longer, especially after they both decided to take the money and leave the area. He knew the other didn't want to stay judging from their conversation that day about how much Theo wanted to leave after they were done. But now that he was actually taking part in the game, he found all the stuff going on a little exciting. And so they had to suck it up and stay, the day already getting too late to go out and search for the creatures. He preferred their room back at the town of origins.
"I don't even know where to start searching. They should be around here. I don't think there are any jungles in gargantua..." He was starting to hate the desert already. "right?"

he hated this western town more than anything. there was only so much of the clique, cringe-worthy cowboy antics theo could take and, by the end of their little mission to take down quickfinger, theo had his fill (and then some) to be satisfied with never coming back to this dirt covered town. he had thought they both were on the same terms, especially considering noels agreement to take the money they’d just earned and leave. but than the alert came. they both had seen it and, upon reading the details, had to same lingering sense of curiosity and caution in their eyes. it was only when noel had suggested they stay in the town for the night to look for the dinosaur eggs the following day that theo realized that they were leagues apart. it had taken a lot for noel to convince him to even make it into the inn but, by the time the sun started to descend and fade to darkness, theo had no choice but to agree. the night had been long and the only real enjoyment had been spending it alongside the other; but even than theo had a list of complaints bitten back. “i think there are … but not here.” theo groaned. he had been a pouting mess ever since he’d woken up to remember he was still in this shit hole; and even more so when noel had dragged him out into the barren desert in search of dinosaurs. keeping a few paces behind noel theo hung his arms down, slouching forward in an attempt to show just how displeased he was. it was childish but at this point he didn’t care. noel was owing him even more with each passing second. in a small rush theo cut the distance between them, keeping a step behind but staying close enough to press his head against noels back as they walked. a small whine left his lips as his eyes stared at the sand and dirt getting kicked up by their feet. “you know we can always go look for dinosaurs back near the town of origins. there’s more trees there … and grass … and life …”

Noel felt a little bad for forcing theo to stay the night in the town again. While it had been fun to spend time together, it also could have been spent in other places that wasn’t some cliche western town. But he had hoped to at least find something before they headed back to the town of origins since the race would take place soon. He didn’t want to be here as much as the other.
“I know but…” Noel began and turned to frown at Theo, his own mouth forming into a pout at the sight of the others. It was obvious he was struggling to find a reason to stay here. “We’re already here so we just have to find some eggs and leave.” His hand reached over to grasp Theo’s, interlacing their fingers to bring the other a little closer as they walked. “And I promise we’ll leave this time...only to come back because the race will be here.” They would have to deal with the desert a little while longer but at least it wouldn't be in the town and they could leave right after. He tried to think of a way to get Theo into the spirit of the event and at least look a little more enthusiastic than pouting at him. "Want to make a bet for the race?"

theo knew this would only last the day at most and, once they both had found what they were looking for, the desert would be long behind him -- or at least until the day of the actual race. that he could do; spending another night in this place was not. at the feeling of noel's hand finding his theo lifted his head up, eyes meeting the other as he listened to him talk. noel had promised the other day that they’d leave but, here they were, stuck in the desert looking for eggs. he bit back that comment, rolling his eyes as he failed to keep his lips from forming a smile. he gripped noel's hand, focused on the feeling of having him close and, only when noel offered the idea of a bet for the race, did theo finally snap out of his mood. “a bet?” theo mused, bringing noel’s hand up, pressing his lips against it. he couldn’t hide the smirk beginning to form nor did theo care to. “you know i’m going to win, but sure.” he inched a little closer. despite no one being around theo's voice lowered, softening despite the obvious teasing tone that lingered on each syllable. “do i finally get to buy you that dress from before? we can even get some rope too if you want. i’m here to show you a good time.”

He knew the moment he mentioned a bet of some kind, Theo would be interested. Noel didn’t have anything in mind for what the bet would be about, the idea popping into his head just a few moments ago to spark Theo’s interest in the coming race. It would make the search a little more bearable and worthwhile, knowing that even if they didn’t win, there would be a reward for one of them at the end of the event. Theo’s lips touched his hand and he could feel the smirk form against his skin at whatever thought was conjuring up in his head.
“Maybe if you win.” Noel grumbled and turned to glare up at him, rolling his eyes as he brought their hands back down. He pulled Theo to a stop so he could face him, watching him closely to see if he had anything else to say. “Too bad I’m going to win so maybe I’ll put you in the dress instead.” With another tug, Noel brought Theo closer to lean against him, staring up at him with the same smirk Theo had given him just a few moments ago. “Whoever wins, the other has to do one thing that they say. I trust you so I expect you not to go too crazy on me right?”

he feels noel pull their hands back down and all theo can do is watch, grinning at the other as the feeling of his skin leaves his lips. noel comments back to his and as theo listens he can’t help but laugh. it was possible for the other to win but if there was a bet involved than he’d try his hardest to be on top. which, he usually was. “i doubt it, but sure. i’ll let you think that.” theo said, voice cutting off when he noels tugs him closer. his eyes narrow for a moment, faltering when he notices the way noel leans against him, smirking with the same look he was sure he’d given just a second ago. it wasn’t fair noel could look so good. theo remembers the bet (if one could count it as that) from the day on the cruise and, from it, theo was allowed to pick the boy up and bring him back to their room. he had been limited on things he could do then but now … “aww, you know i wouldn’t do that. i’m too sweet,” theo started, inching his head down closer. “you’re lucky i’m such a nice guy or else you’d regret giving me that opportunity.” he leaned in quick before noel could say a word or pull away, cutting the distance between them in a second. his lips pressed against the others -- a small peck on the lips that end in the same smirk he had before. “let's go find what we need.”

Excitement was growing in him at the thought of the upcoming race, knowing that despite the fact that they might lose, one of them will be getting something out of it. It added a little risk to the outcome of the race. While he trusted Theo more than anyone he has ever known, he wouldn’t doubt that Theo would put him in a dress if he had the chance. Teasing aside, the thought of making Theo wear one of the frilly, western dresses all the damsels wore in the movies made it very tempting. But he didn’t know what he wanted Theo to do if he just so happened to win.
“Yes you would.” Noel interjected at Theo’s teasing, watching the other inch closer to him as he listened. He could feel his heart start to race a little, still getting the same fluttery feeling despite how they were together now. Everything was still new to him and as he watched Theo quickly lean in and felt the press of his lips against his, Noel couldn’t stop the way his body automatically leaned closer to try and keep it up for a little longer.
As Theo pulled away, Noel frowned up at him but took his hand back so they could continue walking again. “I won’t regret it cause I’m going to win. And I’ll think of something for you to do before the end of the race. Luckily, I’m such a nice guy so I won’t mess with you too much.”

it didn’t take much for theo to ignore the little comment that he let noel slip in, nor was he willing to stop his approach just because of something the other had said. he had wanted to kiss the other ever since he saw the way he looked up at him, tugging him close and mirroring his own smirk in his own, alluring way only noel knew how to do. it was hard to keep it short -- but if things went well he’d have his chance again later that night; and even more when he won the race. he saw the way noel frowned up at him when he pulled away, letting the other take his hand and lead him wherever he wanted. theo kept the look he wanted to give noel at bay, staring at the ground beside them. despite that as he opened his mouth to speak he laughed -- unable to bite back the amusement he felt hearing the other mimic what he said. “oh, of course.” theo started, humming the words in a tone that screamed his disbelief. “i know i’m in good hands with you. you’ll go easy on me… right? you know how fragile and innocent i am.” he leaned against noel, pressing his arm against noels as they walked. he opens his mouth to say something else; to tease noel just a little bit more -- but something catches his eye in the distance, just barely protruding out from behind large rocks that hide whatever’s hidden. “uh, actually, hold that thought.” theo said, pointing at what he noticed, “wanna check over there?”

It was strange for him to feel so happy in this moment. They were in a sweltering desert with no clue on how to find what they are looking for, tired, and wanting to go home. But despite his feelings towards his situation, theo was making the experience a lot more tolerable. Teasing him and being near him was making the time go by faster, wishing that they were somewhere else to enjoy the moment rather than...here. “If you’re innocent then I’m the nicest person in the world.” Noel mumbled under his breath before looking to see what theo was pointing at. Something was sticking out from behind the tall rocks and without a moment’s hesitation, Noel dragged Theo over to see what it was. “Lookie here!” Noel crouched down over the nest of eggs and carefully picked one up. He held it gently, afraid to somehow disturb it even if it just a bunch of pixels. He turned to Theo with a grin, holding the egg out for him to see. “Well we did it. We should probably hurry since the mom might be lurking nearby.” He didn’t think about that, his focus mainly on grabbing the egg and getting out of the desert into the comfort of their small room. “Now we can head home.”

theo had only caught the end of noel's murmur after he had pointed the strange object just barely in view out to the other. it was enough for his eyes to glance over to the blonde beside him, eyes narrowing into a small glare that so easily was swept away by the pull forward. his feet found pace after a quick, momentary stumble. it had been a quick sprint forward and to the rocks in question and, once they stopped, theo took a deep breath as noel crouched down to examine their find. he barely heard the other's voice pick up, nor did he look to see what they had found -- but rather, theo couldn’t help but have his eyes trail down noels back and to something far more interesting that a makeshift nest filled with eggs. “hmm,” was all that came out at first and, only when noel turned to him with one of the dinosaur eggs in hand did theo's eyes snap back into focus. he did his best to hide the guilt ridden expression on his face, hoping that noel was too caught up in the excitement of finding what they’d been searching for to notice. “oh! well, look at that.” theo said, finally realizing what was being presented in front of him. his finger traced the side of the egg noel held so gently in his hands, smiling at the other towards the comment of finally leaving the desert behind. at least for now. “keep that one, i’ll get my own.” and with that theo took an egg himself, carefully cradling it in his grasp before quickly backing a few steps away from the nest. the last thing he wanted to do was get caught up in a battle against an angry mom fighting to get it’s babies back. “okay! now let's get out of here before we end up stuck in this place for another night.”
