Snowpoint Keep, in it's cold isolation, looks as haunted as rumours make it out to be. A lone castle sits between two peaks, a part of its walls in shambles, the rest nearly about to wear away from the weather. When she enters, it's strangely quite, away from the howl of the winds outside. It's unsettling, to say the least. Taurus briefly wonders whether it's always been like this, or if it used to house a king and a family.
Regardless, she'd stay in here for the remainder of the night. Fear has never controlled her emotions, and this is no exception. Taurus had accepted long ago that she would die in this game--that she may as well make the most of her game life before she's gone.
And yet, here she is, in the middle of a mountain. Away from anyone else. Perhaps there's someone here? She brushes what snow had landed in her hair. Her feet move on their own accord; up the stairs that lay in the center, and runs her fingers up the balcony's wooden railing, lingering slightly when she reaches the top.
In the shredded banners hanging from the ceiling, rough carpet walked on by traveler's past, and the yellowing walls, Taurus can see how it used to be so opulent. She takes a glance at the door before walking further inside, her voice echoing when she speaks.
"Hello? Is anyone here?"

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY Sure, a lone castle was probably infested by monsters and ghost stories. Maybe there was even something worthy of nightmare fuel in here. But an empty castle sitting all alone in the middle of nowhere? All Catharsis really heard was the clack of coins he could probably make selling whatever he could scavenge from the place, and well, he was always in need of more income to fund his latest antics. For this reason, he was rifling through a desk, pointedly avoiding spider webs, when he heard someone call out and stood straight up like a rake that had just gotten stepped on. It didn't sound like a monster, and he would have known if there were NPC's hanging around the castle, wouldn't he? It seemed like the kind of thing someone would mention. Frowning, he poked his head out of the room towards the entrance to see ... Ah. The player tag hung over her head clear as day, and he put on his best smile. "You aren't a ghost mob. That's great."His voice carried the same echo as hers had, and suddenly the ethereal quality to it was gone for him. A shame. Still, he was still grinning as he dusted himself off and came into full view. "I didn't know anyone else wanted to check this place out. What brought you here?"

Her voice echoes down the hallway, and she stills, waiting to see if anything responds. She hadn't realized until now--she could've just triggered a boss fight or something, and she wouldn't have even known. Such ignorance will grant her death. She mentally berates herself, wondering if she should make a run for it while she can.
Fortunately, there's no one here but another player. He pokes his head out, his player tag clear above his head. Cathersis. Taurus heaves a sigh of relief. Had it been another hostile mob, she'd have little chance of getting out unscathed. She'd done enough to avoid those on the way here.
"Mmm. And what if I was?" She says, the corners of her lips curling into a grin. His voice echoes through the empty hallway, the tattered remains of fabric doing little to soften the sound. With another step, the player comes into view. Red hair and dark red eyes to match, similar to her own. He's got a pretty face, she notes.
"Likewise," She lilts, running her hands across the wall, towards the other player. "I've a need for adventure as well."
She peeks into the room next to him, eyes landing on the open drawers and the spider webs decorating the room.
"Have you found anything interesting yet?"

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY Now that he recognized her voice as human, he decided it was pretty. At least, he didn't mind listening to the way the tone climbed and fell in the echo chamber of the castle. "Well, I'm just a healer, so I guess I'd be in trouble." He responded easily, watching the way her hand touched against the faded wallpaper as she approached and moving to stand tall rather than continuing to lean. At least so far, she didn't seem like an immediate threat. He was almost immediately busted, but there was no scolding or outrage over looting the place. Good. She wasn't one of those players so sucked in they thought of the NPC's as people. His grin softened into one more genuine. "Not yet, I was thinking of taking my chances and going a bit deeper." He paused, humming a single note under his breath as if a thought only just occurred to him. "Say, would you mind exploring together? It'd probably be safer that way, if anything is here. You know how it is with abandoned places, yeah?" He left the question to hang in the air between them with a soft echo. What happened next, he was willing to leave in her hands.

"Oh?" She lilts, surprised. She hadn't expected to hear that this player was a healer. He didn't give off that air; in fact, she would've expected him to be an attacker of some sort. She herself was one. Rest assured, she wasn't one to pvp at a hat's drop. "Ah, well you won't have to worry." She says, smiling, "I don't like to fight."
She taps on the faded wallpaper, lightly touching her chin. It isn't a hard choice by any means, but she's not easy to sway. "Hmm...I'm not sure if I wanna risk it." She says, although her sly grin says anything but. She's always been a wayward traveler; idleness doesn't help her much with anything. It excites her to hear that she could explore a world unknown with a likeminded partner; nothing but the thrill of danger and her party.
"Let's do it," She winks before standing straight, turning towards the long hall before them, "How far have you gotten in your exploration?"
It would probably take at least a couple hours to explore the place fully--a grand castle with many rooms and a courtyard to boot, not to mention the basement and roof. It's a good thing she has plenty of time to spare.
"After you."

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY His expression went blank for a moment when the Taurus seemed surprised over his class, but just as quickly he laughed as if relieved when she said she didn't like to fight. He wasn't totally sure he believed her, but he could play along. "How lucky for me! I'm basically harmless," the level 5 empath replied. "I'd probably be at your mercy."His eyes lit up when he watched her insincere doubt about his plan, his smile growing wider. Oh, he might like her. She seemed entertaining. When she agreed, he finally moved back and into the hallway. "Only up to this room. Not much in it." He admitted, glancing down the long stretch of hallway. "I figure there'd be a treasury or something like that in here somewhere, right? Not sure if it'd be closer to the throne room, or tucked away somewhere." He admitted, raising his shoulders in a shrug. "There might be more downstairs, but ... I didn't want to go on my own. Seemed like the kind of place pests would stick to." His voice drifted off, before he perked up again. "We just started up here, though, so no need to rush." He was really, really hoping they wouldn't need to go down deeper. Drifting off, he moved further down the hallway to open up a door, peering inside with a frown. More dusty furniture, some drawers that might hold scraps, and ... a small chest. He took a step back, frowning at it with a fist next to his chin "Could be a trap. What do you think?"

Taurus has to admit that she's far from the strongest player out there. In fact, she's barely paid any thought to training her skills. She wouldn't last long in a fight--but there's no need to endanger herself. When she mentions that she doesn't like to fight, her partner's face suddenly blanks, looking incredulous. She's not dense--he can obviously hold on his own despite being a healer. "Oh yes." She lilts in a singsong, lips turned into a slight grin, "You're fortunate to have me on your side."
She listens intently as he talks about what he knows. Treasury somewhere, perhaps--probably in the basement, and dangerous. Her curiosity tempts her to go there first and see what's underneath, but she must resist. As he said--there's plenty of time, and she doesn't mind toiling it away right now. Who knows? They may just find something here.
"There's nothing wrong with a little risk." She says, "But I agree. Let's see what's here first." She follows him as he starts moving down the hallway. Mostly nothing valuable so far; just a room full of dust and furniture. It's not long however, until they spot the small chest. Old and ornate, it sits firmly closed. Cartharsis takes a step back. A trap?
She looks at him cautiously and shrugs, leaning over to observe anything. Nothing suspicious; it seems like an ordinary chest. But this is a game. For all she knows, it could trigger a boss fight. Is she willing to take the risk?
"I'm not sure. But there's only one way to figure out."
Her fingers drift uncertainly over its top before she firmly grasps it, and lifts.

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY It had been a thinly veiled lie, but he enjoyed that she played along. There was a mischievous glint in his eye when she teased him, a smile that grew on his lips. It might be almost inevitably true that the bridge would get burned eventually, but for now he was fine with having fun. That was, after all, all he was after for the moment. He was greedy, but there was probably enough loot to go around. Even if the girl didn't seem so strong, her presence was enough to calm his nerves. Seemed a fair enough trade to him. Personally, Cat preferred to pick and choose where he took his risks, but that seemed to be getting more and more difficult. Anymore, it was like he couldn't step outside without walking right into danger in one way or another. It just kind of figured that no matter how well prepared he was, something would always go wrong. He'd adjusted pretty well to this, he thought, even if it meant having people occasionally ask questions like, 'what's wrong with a little risk' and his personal least favorite, 'what's the worst that could happen.'As if on cue, the moment he had taken a step back away from the chest the new acquaintance had moved closer. Cat frowned, steepling his fingers in front of his mouth as she reached out for the chest. It was fine, he told himself, but the problem with being a self-aware liar was that it made it difficult to buy into your own bullshit. He winced when the chest popped open, not even locked, but slowly opened his eyes to see ... well. It didn't shine, but it also hadn't taken off the girl's hand, so that was something. With Taurus having removed the immediate potential threat, Catharsis took a singular step with his long legs to come within view. No silver or gold or jewels, but ... rocks. Still, they seemed to have markings on them that held some kind of pictographic meaning. The word for that wasn't quite coming to mind to him off the top of his head, but he knew it was something the average nerd might recognize. He hummed a single note, tilting his head. "There are only three ... do you think we should bring them along, just in case?" It seemed like the kind of thing that would come up later. Or, at least, be worth something on the market if he was lucky.

He seems to enjoy their banter, with a glint in his eye and a grin on his lips. There's no knowing if they would ever meet again after this, but Taurus can definitely say that she'd enjoyed this short meeting. She's never been afraid of uncertainties, especially in the face of danger. Having someone with her on these adventures makes it twice as fun.
She's takes risks without a thought. There's no telling whether people will ever escape this game--or even beat it, no less. Might as well enjoy it while she can. Which is why when Catharsis steps back, she steps closer.
With her heart racing on her hands tingling with anticipation, she'd easily popped open the chest.
Nothing.
Taurus peers in. No treasure nor trap, just three rocks that sat on the wooden floor of the chest. Painted on top was a picture that she couldn't recognize, but they can probably get it deciphered if they take it back to town. She cautiously reaches into it and picks it up.
"Hm. For all we know, it could just be trash." She says. She shrugs. They're light enough to be put into her inventory, and she doesn't mind carrying it around for now. Taurus takes one and reaches over to hand it to Catharsis.
"But why not? I can take two."

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY Catharsis laughed, glancing at the girl. "What?" He asked, not quite waiting long enough for an answer. "Come on, now. If you only want to give me one, at least let me pick which one it is." He said, making a show of looking at each one rather than accepting the token from the Taurus immediately. It was clear he wasn't actually offended, a childish fun taken in it as he leaned over to peer into the chest at the symbols on the runes. "Hmm." Truth be told, not a single one of them looked more important than the others, from either a glance or deeper inspection. "This one," He said, grabbing for the one Taurus had been about to hand to him from the start, depositing it into his inventory as long as she still relinquished it to him. As long as that was done, he'd glance around the room before dismissing everything else; nothing looked all that fancy. Turning sharply on his heel, the Empath walked out, peeking around and continuing on down the hallway with a short, satisfied hum. Whatever could be behind door number three?
