jk its me stray with suggestions don't hurt don't h8
trinket craft: crediting raynauld for bringing this up first as far as i can tell. i think we should have this as a profession either as one of the main ones or an additional buy. personally i want to vote it for one of the starter professions. they seem as staple as crafting armor and weapons and in a way, adds more character customization since it's essentially accessories crafting. i do like the mountsmith option and i feel like others do too, but it feels like it's use won't measure up in comparison to trinket crafting. its probably still early but compared to armorsmithing and weaponsmithing, mountmaking seems to pale in comparison when it comes to needs. from what i've seen, the only trades so far are for armor and weapons with many people content with the mounts from the events.
item layering: okay bare with me cries. i know when you craft armor it's the entire outfit and i think it'd be cool to allow people to craft parts as in give them the option to-- aaaaa. and i know that people are limited to one item of each category but i feel like that should apply to pvp and duels since i think this would be awesome to have for in character interactions? and would work well with trinkets crafting. pls let me look cute.
pets & mounts: spending 600 on being a beastmaster should come with really cool benefits right? i think i talked to punk about this before but im gonna fight you punk. even though they're meant to be accessories, i think to some extent they should be allowed to be more organic in feel. aka, let them act like animals (if the mount is one too). if bosses and npcs can be coded to act in a semi-intelligent way, i don't see why pets and creature mounts can't do the same. it would help characters cope with the world if they're terrible with humans. also....let beastmasters add on small buffs or tricks to pets...ty. im sorry.
navigation: can we add a shortcut to the nav for the guild points page? im lazy sorry. and the quest log and bounty board. again this is just bcus im lazy you guys don't have too i swear.
equipment upgrades: it'd be nice if we're allowed to upgrade the rarity of an item once by paying half the cost. we're all living the struggle life out here and some of us may love the descriptions of items so much we wanna keep it with us for life. after paying for the upgrade, maybe staff can write in the description where it says: CRAFTED to UPGRADED? to let you all know it's already been upgrade once before. ofc, this won't work on unique items since legendaries are OP.GG.
i think this would be especially nice if we're not allowed to craft trinkets //tears
inventory checks: JUST AN IDEA AAAA-- TO HELP KEEP TRACK OF PLAYER INVENTORIES. - staff likes post to let the player know that they've confirmed the item exists - player likes their own post once they've removed said items or edits their notif post to tag the staff member - then staff delivers the items
i mean it might be a bit slower as a process but it guarantees that items are removed and added. just an idea. mainly bcus i've had to remind pastel like twice to remove an item she used to craft after she added in the final product.
for skill resets and additional skills i think i brought this up with punk today but if it's hard to keep track you could create a ticket item for these and label them as additional skill #2 ticket or something.
hard mode dungeons: having beta tested this idk if im being a spoiled brat or not but the rewards feel a little underwhelming. compared to raids where if you survive you get +50-90 coin and an epic for less posts, i think you guys can afford to buff up the prizes for more interest? i'm honestly fine with it since noir is basically gonna die but for people looking to keep characters, i don't think it's tempting enough. maybe you guys can have rewards be split as rewards for easy mode and better rewards for hard? just a thought i think. even buffing the coin rewards might be enough.
future bounty idea: i'm in love with duels, bounties, and raids so why not make a love child of the three? a bounty boss could be set with one of the modes (but ez pz pls no hard bounties up in here) and players can roll in their posts and count their equipment/abilities for the numbers. rough idea so polish as needed HUFFS.
i think that's all don't hurt me @staff

1 ▸ Unfortunately, trinkets will never be craftable, but for good reason. These are exclusive items that given by the staff that give cool exclusive stats. Now these stats may be copied in some sort of way on other crafted pieces, but the exclusivity keeps them refreshing and cool to earn. If you could craft your own, you wouldn't concern yourself with getting them. When it comes to styling, armor crafting allows you to craft an outfit head-to-toe with whatever appearance you're after.
2 ▸ Again I'm raining on the parade and using you as an example. I'm so sorry. Just as mentioned above, armor crafting allows you to make anything that you can wear but as a set or outfit! Want to run around and deflect bullets with a school girl outfit? Feel free. Maybe you just want to craft something to wear for roleplay purposes. All of these tools exist in your hands already, just through another outlet. You may need to craft different outfits for each day of the week instead of mixing and matching, but it keeps things clean for everyone, including staff.
3 ▸ Pets and mounts can already do this kind of stuff as is. You can roleplay it how you wish. They're just like animals. The only thing they can't do is engage in combat, unless stated otherwise in their description. Keeps things balanced. Pets never give bonuses to combat because that's not what they were intended for (originally we never intended for them to have any stats, so most of them won't). If you want to apply stats to them when crafting, you're free to do so. Just remember each item gets checked for balance based on the item's rating when going through acceptance. And pets shouldn't have stats boosts for combat.
4 ▸ Stay tuned. We've got some nice shortcuts and other things coming for you guys.
5 ▸ Equipment upgrades is a cool idea, but only in the right places. I've personally looked at the idea before, and I want to make sure we juggle it in a way that doesn't make other loot look unimportant. We want you guys to engage in events or other activities and loot or coin is how we do it. If we give you a reason to never want loot again, we kill that drive. So we have to be careful. That being said, this is a cool idea and it might come as a future update to professions to encourage people to craft things with cash. Probably with a couple other buffs as well.
6 ▸ Inventory checks are hard, and we do want to make sure no one has anything they're not supposed to. However, the five staff members on site do a great job of keeping track of mostly everything that's going on. We miss a few things here and there we eventually find, but we're usually quick and on top of it. It shouldn't be hard for any single player to tend to their own single inventory. Sometimes mix-ups happen and we're usually very understanding, but we also want it fixed as fast as possible.
We probably won't make changes to the system we have now because we want to put trust into the playerbase. If you use or craft an item, make sure you get rid of it. We're usually good about deleting the items from your inventory after you craft with them but sometimes that doesn't always happen (call this beta). I suggest doing all sorts of little things to keep track of your own inventory so you don't get screwed up. The trust lies in you guys.
7 ▸ This is something we're still tinkering with, but it seems to be weighing in the direction of no change. We do want to make more reasons to go in the dungeon, but we want to make sure we don't go too crazy with it. Currently hard mode offers tons of rares and epics with pretty low chances of death (besides deception op) and with the same posting requirements of a quest. Posting also rack up easy cash just for the sake of roleplaying in a cool dungeon. Easy mode in its current state is meant to be punishing, as we want you to do hard mode, but you can still receive some nice tiers of loot from it. I think in its current state the dungeons do well for what we meant for them: a replacement for raids for smaller groups when a raid isn't up. A hybrid of quests and raids I suppose.
8 ▸ Cool idea, but bounties have a certain specific place just as all the other thread types. They act as event-based quests that's focused on combat with a single unit. A way to fight bosses on a smaller, but longer, scale when compared to raids. They come with cool exclusive rewards for people who don't want to try out hard mode. So these probably won't change from that. BUT! The concept you mentioned isn't something we haven't heard before and it isn't something we haven't discussed in other avenues. Again, stay tuned. We have a lot planned for you guys very soon!
Totally turned you into an example here, but I think it makes well for our positions on certain things for some future list. Everything you mentioned was a good idea in some kind of way, but a lot of it is stuff we've either thought about before or heard already. This is our position on it so we keep things clean and easy for you guys and the staff. The other stuff might be coming sooner than you think!

ty for the reply but I have one more to make! the explanations you've given so far makes sense to me. so think of this as merely touching on all bases so everything is cleared.
the reason why i brought up trinket crafting and item layering as a suggestion is because there are certain changeable looks that people may go for. i'm not sure if you can unequip 'parts' of the crafted armor even if written in the flavor text. example being removing a hat or cape on the armor you've crafted. would it be alright to include this in the flavor text? and would it be okay to do ic?

Oh, okay! I see what you're after now. I'd say minor things like that already exist as options in current modern-day mmorpgs, so it would and should on BWO. You shouldn't need to add it to the item description, as long as it's minor removals such as the helmet or a cloak. But, if you'd like, you can still add it to the description if that's your thing. So go buck wild.
On top of this and what I mentioned previously, I think we'll be releasing an item guideline so you know what kind of things you should be shooting for when crafting. I think the skill guidelines did a lot of good in some places, so we'll probably see that again.
