GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY Of all the things Catharsis had known he would do in this game going in, intentionally walking down a dark alley was not one of those things. He glanced down at the description of the bounty again, and sighed before opening up the lfg tool. Robotic assassins that required strategy to kill? Yeah, no way was he doing that alone. He liked having loot all to himself, but he didn't have a death wish. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like many people were looking for a party for this particular quest, which sucked. After letting out a sigh, he posted his own submission, hoping that he'd get a defender. Maybe even a reliable attacker. With his luck, it was unlikely. If not, then he'd just have to adapt and work with what he was given. And, well, hope he could run faster than whoever showed up. To be honest, he'd only met one person who could outrun him so far. He was pretty proud of it, actually. For the moment, though, he'd have to wait and see. He had no inclination to rush on into the dark alleyway until backup arrived, after all.

| | with a murderous group of robots on the loose in izanagi, hex figured that there would be plenty of heroes running around the town ready to take them down and grab whatever loot they dropped. instead though, as the caster looked through the list of people looking for groups, she didn't find a single one pertaining to this specific bounty. that was strange. she was hoping she could ride the coattails of a bigger group and grab some easy loot, but that didn't seem to be the case here. it looked like if she wanted to take down the robots, she'd have to find someone around the town willing to help her. maybe even someone who was planning on doing it and just hadn't posted up that they were looking for a group. one thing was for sure, though, she wasn't going to take on the fearsome five by herself. the woman could admit that she could be kind of crazy, but she wasn't crazy in the death wish sorta sense. just as she was about to close the menu and look for a player around town, a notification appeared from a man named catharsis looking for someone to help take them down. without even looking at the player's class, hex quickly accepted the request and typed up a quick private message to the other player. "i'm here, where are you?" |

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY Catharsis paused when he got the invite, studying the individual. He was pretty sure he'd never met the player before, and she was a utility. Well, beggar's couldn't be choosers. Problem was, he wasn't as certain as he usually was he'd be able to outrun the enemy if things went south. Could an owlbear outpace a robot assassin? Felt like he was about to find out. Still, he sent a short message of, "omw," before heading off to the other player's location as best as he could figure it. As soon as he saw her, and then double checked her name, he smiled and waved. Might as well put on a good face just before everything went to shit, anyway. "You're Hex, right? I'm Catharsis." He paused, "I ... don't really know any defenders or attackers in the area. Do you?" He didn't for a second believe that they'd be that lucky, but it was at least worth a shot. This was not going to be one of his better days in Gargantua, the Empath could already feel it in his bones.

| | with his question to her, hex assumed that he was neither an attacker or a defender himself. two utilities. this was going to go well. the caster regretted not paying more attention when she joined the guy's party. well, whatever, they would get there one way or another. there was no way that this was going to be the end. if necessary, she run as fast and as far as she could, hopefully getting away from the machines. and hopefully he'd be able to get away, too. "that's me," she started, putting a hand on her hip and looking at the boy. he didn't look very capable of taking on five robots, but then again, she supposed neither did she. "i wish i did, but sadly can't say i do." it was them against the world, or at least it was them against the fearsome five. two utilities against five killing machines? seemed fair. hex turned away from the man to search in the darkness around him. "so where are they?" |

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY From the looks of it at first glance, she was just as enthusiastic as he felt. Still, he kept up his smile, watching her closely. She didn't seem at all intimidating, but he was hoping looks were deceiving for once. Five assassins against two just didn't seem fair, but he would have overlooked it if he had had a defender or even an attacker. Luck just wasn't on his side today, but what else was new? Nothing. He'd just have to find a way around that. He'd dealt with worse before. "Wish I knew," He said softly, stepping forward. The truth was, he'd never had to deal with robotic enemies before. He wasn't entirely certain just how well (or poorly) they would interact with his class. Well, it was probably nothing to worry about. "Probably waiting somewhere down that alleyway, don't you think?" He said, and his uncertainty actually managed to creep up into his voice. It was just asking to get jumped, and neither of them seemed to have the defenses for that. He had a teleporter, but he wasn't sure just how the girl would be able to make for a quick exit.

| | the sound of metal sliding against brick made the ear's atop hex's head perk up higher. "i guess you were right..." the caster muttered looking down the alleyway in which the sound echoed from. there was a fear in her, one she wouldn't openly admit. how were two players of utility classes supposed to take on five killing machines? hex prayed to the gargantuan gods that whatever was making that sound in the alley wasn't the fearsome five. maybe it would just be some sort of stray animal wandering where it didn't belong, but no matter how long she stared into the darkness, she still saw nothing. pulling her attention away from the alleyway, she turned her eyes to catharsis. "should we investigate?" as much as she wanted the answer to be no, maybe the man was braver than she. whatever was done there, she didn't want to fight. some part of her wished the five would never arrive. while the woman wanted the loot, was putting her life on the line really worth it. the game was too cruel making a bounty of five. hex pulled out her broom from its place on her back and held the stick tightly in both of her hands. if catharsis went in, she would follow, but there was no way she was going to make the first move. |

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY The clang down the alleyway was reminiscent of one too many cheap horror flics, and when Hex asked if "they" should investigate, he frowned at her, knowing full well that "we" probably meant "him." If he was lucky, with her trailing a safe distance behind. Fantastic. Every instinct told him to tell her that they should just wait until a defender showed up, but he closed his eyes for a moment before smiling at her. "Yep. I'll go on ahead." It was clear to see by how tightly she was gripping her broom - and he was really hoping that basic attacks weren't her only offensive skill - it wasn't really worth trying to bargain with her. Without much more worth talking about, he walked in only after pointing a finger from one side of the alleyway and drawing it all the way to the other. It would be a tight squeeze, but if worst came to worst ... It was doable. Or at least, he was hoping it would be enough for him to at least have a chance. Taking the first couple of steps forward, the hair on the back of his neck was already on end as 'what if's raced through his mind. This wasn't going to go well. He stopped short when a bunch of trash blocking his vision of what came past came into view in the dark, taking a step back instead. Well, no, that didn't sound like a good idea, thank you very much. The moment his retreating foot hit the ground, a metal arrow zoomed right past his face, the cut of the air burning and making him startle. "Guess they found us," He hissed, because of course this would happen.

| | at the sound of his agreement, the woman's spirits raised, if only by a bit. hex came to stand behind catharsis, using his body as a sort of shield in case anything should happen. she was probably too close for his comfort, but if he didn't like it, he could just push her back. she'd gladly be as far away from the battle as possible. only a few steps had been taken when an arrow whizzed past the two of them, the fearsome had already been located. or they had located them, she should say. the caster didn't have sights on the bounties, but all the same the fight had started. with the broom that she had gripped tightly in her palms, she smacked the stick into the ground as fast as she could, waves of flames erupting from each hit to the ground. "a slight damage buff." hex whispered a short explanation of the skill to her comrade. "if you can deal any damage, that is."she could almost feel the heat of the flames coating her skin as she too was buffed by the skill. while the woman didn't usually use the buff herself, it seemed like today would be one of those days. if she didn't help, this most likely would never end. |

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY Catharsis had thrown up an auric barrier, opaque in color, but he was already sweating. Of course, that wasn't helped when his partner had a fit and started smacking the ground with her broom, let alone when actual fire erupted from the ground. He recoiled, frowning sharply at her until she whispered an explanation. A damage buff- oh, right. She must be even more useless than he was in an outright fight. That double utility party feel. He closed his eyes, knowing he did very well have attacks, but against five assassin robots? Yeah, his feigned optimism was gone. "I have a better idea." He said, giving her a cheeky smile over her shoulder - wow, she was way too close - before issuing a long, shrill whistle. Because of Azzar, he'd hesitated in bringing a dragon into a town space, but he'd rather survive and deal with the consequences later. For a moment, there was nothing, the barrier starting to crackle against the attacks of all four assassins. Then, the winds began to rush around him, the flapping of wings in the air as the dragon landed atop the two buildings above, lowering its long neck down the crevice that was the alleyway with a rumbling groan. Grinning, Cat jumped up the neck towards the saddle, glancing at her. "You wanna ride, or would you rather stay put?" He offered without really slowing down. Wherever she wanted to be for this fight would be her choice, after all. That barrier was going to break any moment, and then the real fun would begin.

| | with the man's long whistle, hex covered her ears with her hands, just wanting to hear the shrill noise at full blast. what was he even doing? some sort of skill? the woman didn't have to wait long for her answer as a shadow appeared from the sky followed by the flapping of wings. a dragon landed on the two buildings that created the alleyway and hex knew that it had to be his mount. as he jumped up, her offered her a ride atop the dragon too, but hex wasn't so sure she should take it. though she didn't have much she could do on land, she knew she'd be even more useless on the dragon. without any ground to form her abilities on, she wouldn't be able to cast. then there was the fact that her basic attacks involved her smacking things with her broom, she couldn't really do that from the sky... but how could she pass up on opportunity to ride on a dragon? she damn well couldn't. the barrier that the man had placed up was surely going to break soon. she threw her hand up in the air in catharsis' direction, "help me up!" |

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY At first, Cat had just assumed Hex was turning him down, which was fine; if she wanted to chip in the old fashioned way, that was her choice. When she voiced her request for him to help her up, he glanced back over her shoulder and frowned. Assuming she'd changed her mind, he'd kind of wished she'd have done that before he'd made his way as far up the neck as he already had, but he complied, taking a few steps back and holding onto a spine down the dragon's neck as he reached down for her hand. She even seemed small enough that maybe even he could lift her, but most likely she would have to put some of the effort into actually getting herself up on the neck. Cat didn't have to look back to know that the barrier had shattered; another arrow hit him in the shoulder, making him let out a quiet hiss through clenched teeth as he looked at his health bar tick down. Of course they'd aim for him. Just his luck. "Let's go." He hissed, and the moment he was able, he'd be scrambling up towards the saddle of the dragon.

| | hex felt bad for asking after the man had already began his journey towards the saddle of the dragon, but not bad enough to change her mind. she grabbed his hand tightly in hers to pull herself up behind him. the caster knew the barrier broke by the arrow that flew into the man's shoulder. she looked down at the five below and hurried to follow the man onto the saddle of the dragon. it had been long enough for hex to get used to all the strange creatures in gargantua, but she'd never before been on top of a dragon. this was a first for her, and it was a thrilling experience. even though she was excited, she knew that this wasn't exactly the appropriate time for it. sliding behind catharsis on the mount, she asked a simple, "can i hold on to you?" from her position, she had no where to hold, and she didn't want to fall. that would almost be a worse fate than dying to the fearsome five. "so, uh, what are we gonna do now?" |

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY Thankfully, Hex already had the idea of using him to climb up on her own, which was good because Cat couldn't lift another person without help anyway. He was surprised when hex asked to hold onto him, but nodded. "Yeah, sure - you can also strap yourself in towards the back," He offered, just so he knew she had options. She didn't seem like an immediate threat; letting her get that close probably wouldn't go too terribly. Still, if she wanted, there were seatbelts throughout the saddle she was free to use if she wanted to keep her hands free. Besides, he was a bit scattered looking down at the fearsome five. He saw the archer now standing atop a trash heap, while a smaller assassin darted towards them, knife in hand. It seemed like they came in several body types, with different classes. No wonder they were so successful; the damn things actually had party balance, unlike a duo he could think of at the moment. What now? He grinned, and the only warning Hex got - whatever she'd decided to do as far as seating arrangement - was, "Hold tight." Rearing the head back, the dragon adjusted its position and exhaled a cone of lightning on the enemies, effectively frying everything in its path down the alleyway with no room to maneuver. They were robots, so as far as Cat could tell, they didn't really stand much chance. He counted one, two, three down, easy as pie. He laughed, but stopped short when he saw the archer start to reassemble itself, health bar now a growing grey. "Wait, what the fuck?"

| | hex wondered how she'd even missed the seat belts that were positioned across the saddle of the mount. that seemed the better option of the two, so she scooted back from the man and buckled herself into the nearest belt. as she was checking to make sure she was secure, he yelled out a warning. without any time to react, the dragon lifted up to release an attack onto their enemies below them. nearly losing her broom as the dragon swung back, she tighten her grip on the stick to make sure it didn't fall from her hands. without her weapon, she was useless. even with her weapon, she was useless on the back on this dragon, but she definitely wasn't going to be standing in that alleyway by herself with catharsis safely on the back on his mount. "well that was sure convenient," the woman noted as the attack took down three of the five. if the two of them couldn't do any damage, at least there was the dragon there to support them. soon, though, the woman was swallowing her words as the metal heaps began to repair themselves until they were once more whole again. "or maybe not." she paused for a second before watching the once dead robots begin to attack at them once more. "how are we supposed to kill them if they just repair?" it was a useless question to ask as the man didn't know the answer either. if wouldn't have laughed if he didn't. the fight was beginning to seem more and more pointless. from this position she couldn't do anything, but even if she were down there, the results would probably be the same. maybe the saddle was enough for the woman to use to project her attacks, but before doing anything, she'd wait to see the man's next move. maybe he had another trick up his sleeve. |

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ENERGY LOVE ME LIKE AN ENEMY "Fuck, it's a puzzle." Catharsis said flatly, watching balefully as the other two began to rebuild as well. And here he was, thinking he'd gone and solved everything with a dragon that may or may not have any inhabitants that could see them freaking out. "Scylla, get me a better vantage point of the others." He ordered, noting that he could only see three. Sure enough, the dragon shifted her great weight over the buildings and he saw where the two other robots were instead of attacking them; crouched as if busy with some hovering screen, probably responsible for the repairs being done. "Ah." Cat said, not feeling any neeed to explain what was happening if Hex could probalby see the problem at hand with her own eyes. He hissed, eyes drawing between all of them. "I don't like this. They're too far spread out." He admitted finally with a sigh, glancing over his shoulder. "Do you have any ideas?" He asked, before ducking once he saw the archer start to pull back another arrow.
