that was you. What an ugly sight. The goblins were running back and forth with their weapons waved around, npc's screeching at the top of their lungs while they ran or got clobbered by the things. It was pretty gruesome. Even when the little gremlins ran into each other, Catharsis found he couldn't totally laugh it off even though the victims in question were npcs. It didn't seem likely to Catharsis that the goblins themselves would be smart enough to orchestrate this sort of thing, but who was he to judge? Eh, as long as he kept his distance, he'd probably be fine. Or so he'd thought. At least it wasn't a big deal. One of the goblins split from the chaos to run straight towards him, sword waving all the way around as the thing took what looked to be uneven steps. Cat looked down narrowed eyes at the way the ugly thing's tongue rolled around from side to side, considering that maybe there were some things that graphics didn't need to get all that better at depicting. Still, he wasn't about to just stand there and let the thing gut him. It was, like, half the size of the other tiny things. With a low whistle, the utility turned his staff around so that the thicker part was closer to the ground, getting a good grip and lining up his swing just like he'd been taught. It was good to keep up variety when you used a staff like a beat stick, after all, and it wasn't like anyone else was around yet ... which was unfortunate, because he'd been waiting around for a party to form so he could complete this quest and move on. Either way, the little goblin raced right up - just to get clobbered with the end of the staff and sent flying back towards the mass of chaos as soon as it started swinging its sword at his shins. Bye, you little shit. His victory was, unfortunately, short-lived before the thing descending right on top of another goblin, and Catharsis was left frowning. Ah, shit. The enemy AI was too good for this to go well for him. ooc } open, goblin attack force 1/10 MADE BY ★MEULK

young bull Another day, another quest for Nexon. The Binder had wandered around Faywood village in search of some potieintal players to party with or the the goblins. Quests like this bore him, fighting goblins felt kind of lame. He couldn't wait to make it to the next floor and fight a shitload of crazy dragons and powerful shit like that. But for now he had to settle for less. His dark brown eyes scanned the area, but the ignorance of the goblin's already caught his sight. There was another person that was there. He couldn't see the figure well from where he was standing, all he knew was the player had red hair. "Well, he is the closest guy near the goblin's so why not."The Binder slowly strolled over to where all the action was taking placing at, confidence fueled every floor step he took until he was close enough. The Goblins had activated his passive skill. The tattoos on his body were given to Binder classes in order to keep the material they use to bind on them at all time. His tattoos basically melted off his body like wet ink before converting into chains. The goblins were in his 50x5p perimeter range. Six chains would rocket away from his body towards the closest six goblins. The chains whipped around their body, squeezing them as tight as possible to restrain them down. The player rubbed his chin, he had to finish them before one of the free goblins catch him offguard. Nexon pulled the chains back toward him to trap in the goblins. That was his best strategy, some thhting that he made pretty far with. Trap and kill. It's like a predator setting up a trap before sinking in their prey. Six daggers were unsheathed, give holding in between his fingers in the hand he wasn't pulling with while the last one day between his teeth. "Oh, where are my manners?" He mumbled with thr dagger in his mouth. Nexon had completely forgot about the the red head, opening his menu to send him an invite to a party. "My name is Nexon, I wouldn't mind some extra hands while I take these guys down." Nex smirked before bringing his focus back to his targets, he's going to enjoying turning them into data. that was you. Just as he was starting to worry, the goblins that seemed to be announcing that they were headed his way got pulled away by ... chains? Catharsis nearly gave himself whiplash following the attack the source. He really should've been paying attention. Well, that worked. Right on time, a possible party member had practically appeared out of thin air. How lucky for him. "I'm Catharsis." The guy seemed a bit ... arrogant, but Catharsis decided he'd dealt with worse in the past, especially given that the guy actually bothered to remember he existed at the very least. And if this guy was settled on doing most of the work, well, that was just fine by him. "Sure." He said cooly as he accepted the party invite. "Just let me know what you need me to do." He didn't mind being underestimated if it meant he could chill out, after all. Taking quick steps down and towards the guy, he still decided to go ahead and take some initiative. He needed to finish off the chained goblins, right? That was something he could handle helping with. The moment he was close enough, he swung the heavy end of the staff down against the goblin's skull without blinking. He was no attacker, but that was a pretty solid place to aim for with a blunt object when a thing couldn't defend itself. ooc } nexon goblin attack force 2/10 MADE BY ★MEULK

young bull The Binder scratched the side of his cheek, that was a pretty long name to remember with a game filled with millions of other users. "I got it! Your news name is Cat. It's decided." Nexon had a lack for forcing nicknames on people without their say in the matter, just the just of person he was. "You can call me Nex. Now let's get rid of these weird looking midgets." Nex noticed that his partner had already begin to take advantage of some of the goblin's being restricted, not a lot of people do that. That was the whole purpose of the Binder class. Just bind the targets and let the attackers spam on them. The player slightly tilted his head at the sight of his partner's weapon of choice. What kind of class used staff? A mage or monk? "Hey, what class are you. Also, if you're wondering how I'm pulling it off with the chains, it's a skill from the Binder class. Basically we use materials of our choice to bind targets. Since in real life how people get locked up with chains, I decided to make the material to use chains at the start of the game. They're the tattoos on my body." It was weird to give out that much information out to someone who he had just met, there's a possible chance that he could later on be his enemy and use that against him. It was all a part of Nex's plan. He gave out that much information hoping in return the same amount on his partner's class. An Apple for an apple, not a grape for a raisin. His partner landed an attack on one of the goblin's that were chains down, something which put a smile on Nex's face. "On the count of five, I'm going to let go of all the goblins. We can't just focus on only these six, there's more around us." The Binder gripped five out if the six chains with one hand, using the free hand contest around the sixth chain. "One.. Two.." His muscles began to tense up, putting as much force into what he was about to attempt as goblin. The goblins were short and weak creatures, so it was possible to his idea to work out with a high success rate. "Three.. Four.." The sixth chain was being turned around in a clock wise motion, and so was the goblin was it had wrapped around. The other goblin's feet would slowly skid across the ground, it was from all the force Nexon was using to pull them closer in. His muscles were bulging from the combining weight of all five goblins. "FIVE! Almost simultaneously, all six of the chains were pull back as the goblin's were now released. The motion he pulled for the sixth goblin was like the fundamentals of how a spinning top worked. It caused the goblin to spin around clock wise, giving Cat more time to do the finishing blow on the goblin. The other five goblin were now airborne. It was a game if tug-of-war, once the chains reverted back into tattoos there was nothing holding the goblin's back from not flying anymore. A window of opportunity opened for Nexon to attack them. With both of his hands now free, he equipped six daggers. The goblins were flying closer toward him, so there was no need for precise accuracy. The Binder launched all five of the daggers towards the goblin's while the goblin's were heading straight towards them at full speed. All five daggers had done enough damage to turn the goblin's into nothing but data, a few hitting vital spots and ending them in an instant. "That was pretty, I liked that one. I'm going to write down that move to use it later on in the game."[/div]

that was you. Catharsis blinked when he was 'renamed,' but shrugged. He actually told people who had a hard time pronouncing his name to call him that anyway, so it was all good and didn't actually bother him. At least the guy wasn't calling him Cathy. He kind of wanted to focus on attacking the goblin, but introductions were a part of being a person in a public setting. Standing upright to look at him and pause from his work, he decided that it'd be fair to return an explanation. "I'm an Empath. Basically, your emotions will either make me stronger or get in my way." That didn't necessarily mean he'd be very good at the explanation itself, though. It wasn't really something that could be helped. "I'll also need to stick close to you to be all that helpful. I guess you should know that." As he leveled up he might get more range to his abilities, but for the most part he had to stick close to be able to land a heal - not that he was going to open up to being treated like a healbot - or an attack. He went back to hitting the goblin, the thing just starting to look about done. He frowned for a second when the guy wanted to release all of the goblins at once, but he assumed the guy knew what he was about. "Yeah, okay. You do you."When the goblins were released, it was quite a bit of show, but Cat focused on his one being released like a type. Flipping the staff again, Catharsis hit the goblin like a golf ball yet again, sending the thing flying. Before it even landed anywhere, the thing broke up into bits of dust. It was kind of like fireworks. Then he looked at all of the goblins that were left, and sighed. Ugly, slobbering gremlins. "So Nex, you wanna keep spamming that bind skill, or do you have a different plan?" He asked, glancing evenly at the man. He'd let him run the show. No skin off his nose if he didn't have to do the work of planning out attacks. ooc } nexon goblin attack force 3/10 MADE BY ★MEULK

young bull Nexon placed the daggers back into the red robe wrapped around his waist. Using his class in different ways excited the Binder, just love improving more and more. It felt like he was getting closer to one day beating the entire game. They were computers, there's no way a computer could outsmart the mind of a Human. So as long as he had a plan, then there was always a chance to defeat a NPC. The goblins were one of the weakest monsters in the game, so it didn't take that much wugs to destroy them, they were more like practice dummies for him to test out new battle tactics against them. Nexon paused to watch his partner's capabilities in combat, in which he took out on of the goblins he unbinded for him. The reason behind it was because it felt too easy, like he didn't actually accomplish the much from the trap and kill tactic, felt really dry to him. It's no fun in games where you practically do the same thing in every new level. He wanted to experience combat at it's best. After Cat told his about his class, he thought for a moment on how much it would come in handy combat wise. "Get in your way? Like if I cry or something? What would happen if I get really hyped up? You're gonna feed off that and get a lot stronger, sounds like a plan to me." Both of their class depended on an ally, wi the out one they wouldn't be much of help. His greatest concern was his arrogance might not only get in his way, but also effect Nexon too in his decision making. His feet tapped against the ground a few seconds to think out how it would go down if he pulled something crazy off, he was brimming with confidence in his ability to take down as many goblins as possible. Nex shrugged his shoulders at the question. "Not up to me, it's a passive. I can't control the chains, once a threat is in a 50x50 feet perimeter of me, the chains do it on their own." So far none of the goblin's were that close to him, but they were edging closer for an attack on the duo. The teen sighed before finally doing what he does best. Nexon would take a few steps forward to allow the goblin's to be in range of him, his tattoos peeling off his body into chains. The chains curved in mid air in search for their targets as it locked down four goblins. The goblins could no longer move their weapons or bidy, they were completely helpless. The Binder would then whistle over to his partner to handle the chained goblins while waiting for two more goblins to step in his field. [/div]

that was you. Cat blinked at the information of the bindings being a passive ability. That was strange to him. If he couldn't be in control of them, did that mean he couldn't choose what he tangled up? "So what happens if you wanna disengage but something gets in your field anyway?" He asked, more curious than worried. He didn't pause to watch Nexon though, instead getting right down to business to attack the goblins the moment they were bound. This time, he could sense more of a rhythm for what was going on. It helped not to have as much uncertainty around the other player's mechanics. It didn't take long to club the first one to death, and for the second he just leaned down and grabbed onto it, pixels starting to drain from the goblin's body and into himself. This didn't seem like the kind of quest where he'd need to hold onto his self-heal, and the additional damage seemed useful to chipping into the time of this quest. With the goblin unable to break his hold on them, let alone move, the thing broke up into pixels within moments. Catharsis grinned as he stood back up, shaking his hand as he moved on to club the next one. "So, if those are your passives, what else have you got? If you don't mind me asking?" He asked, not explaining what he'd just done without being prompted to. The thought hadn't even crossed his mind. ooc } nexon goblin attack force 4/10 MADE BY ★MEULK

young bull The chains reverted back to tattoos as his partner defeated the binded up Goblins. The Binder would brush the data away from his clothes, it was disgusting to him. Disgusting how computers thinking they could ever defeat a Huamn, it made him sick to his stomach. Nexon came back to his senses as he heard Cat talk about how exactly his skill worked. He would shrug at the question, still unaware of his own ability too. He still doesn't have complete mastery of his class, only time could tell. Nexon believed that he had chosen the master class to beat the entire game, so it was a right choice for him. "Think of the chains as on forever auto pilots. Matter fact.. Think of the chains as NPCs, I can't stop them. The game function for that skill detects a threat to my life, then activates the "brains" of the chains. Think of them as alive, and uncontrollable. Here's some advice for you if we ever meet after this quest, don't come at me jokingly swinging a sword." Nex would smile, hoping it would make his partner think twice about ever betraying him later on in the future. The plan was to make him fear him, make him feel like the next time they meet that he might hesitate to move near him. That was his idea all along. Nex wasn't sure if he could trust computers and players, because they only have one thing in common: the ability to take a life. The player would move backward a bit to avoid the chains from attacking the goblin's that were removing closer and closer into his range. Nexon would equip one dagger, only one way to use it without using his chains and that was in a Lang ranged way. Without proper training of accuracy, he would try his hardest to aim at one of the chains from more than fifty feet away from him. Nex would over hand chuck the dagger into the air, which gave it a better chance of landing on top of one of the goins heads. They were crowded up, so the probability was quite high. The daggers cut through the win before digging into the head of one of the goblins. "I'm not leaving until I find that dagger again. That's a promise." He's serious, weapons were scarce here and he had to make the best of what he had. The Binder glanced back at his partner, scratching the bottom of his chin at the question. "Well jeez, do you want me to write down a whole manual guide to my class? How about you inform me some more of your class?" It's bad enough take he gave Cat that much info on his class, which could result in Cat funding some major weaknesses to it. [/div]

that was you. Cat didn't blink, but that didn't mean the thinly veiled threat went over his head. A thief is paranoid about the locks in their home, and Catharsis was well aware that people were out to hurt him. There was a strange form of superiority in him, in the way that he felt as though he was better for at least not being violent in the pain he inflicted. "I'll keep that in mind if we ever see each other again." He said when he turned to face Nexon, cheerful as could be. He turned his face towards the goblins when Nexon seemed to lose his temper, breathing in the frustration and tension. The guy fed him pretty well, but maybe if they ever partied up again he'd like for someone else to be in the party. He tried not to let his unease show; such was too close to bearing one's neck. "You can just say no, you know." A laughter curled around his words, a tad bit sharper than he intended. He softened slightly and shrugged. "I don't see why not. If there's anything you want to know, just ask."He glanced towards the rest of the goblins, trying to count them once ... and then a second time, this time actually using a pointed finger to keep track. It wasn't any good; the things ran around like chickens missing their heads, narrowly avoiding running into each other. If this had actually still felt like a game in any fun sense of the word, he'd have found them humorous. He didn't. He let out a sigh. "They're so tedious." Hopefully, they'd finish soon and the quest would clear. ooc } nexon goblin attack force 5/10 MADE BY ★MEULK

young bull The Binder hesitated to speak again, there was something that he had realized before talking. He should start thinking before he speaks. His head faced down to the ground, in shame of not realizing what he should've done beforehand. "I'm an idiot." Thoughts were racing through his mind, confused about why he did all of that. In the end Nex outplayed himself like a dumb ass. One drop of a tear made contact on the ground he was facing, it really messed up his game plan. The only positive thing of what he was currently going through was that it was a learning experience, something that he had never learned in his entire life until now, not even the real world had helped him figure it out. "This whole time.." His lips shriveled up, his pride now broken for a brief moment. His life worthless. "I could've said no.." It shattered his heart not thinking about that. Instead of revealing the aspect of his triumph card, he could've just said no like a person with an actual brain. Now he's back, his confidence returning. Nexon was going to take all of his stress on the enemies, it inspired him to finish off the goblin's even more brutal. One single step was needed to out two goblins in his field of range, the chains leaving his body to do their duty. Before the goblin's could even one around the chains were already binding their bodies and stopping their movements. "Cat.. There are only two people in the entire game that knows the range of my chains. You and probably one of the best players I've seen so far. If we're going to be partners, promise me this. Promise me you will never ever tell anyone about my skills. If more players know about it, they could plan out a way to kill me. Think about it, Cat. Do you think geeky gamers are the only people that are trapped here? There's no police here from stopping other players from kill other players. It won't be long before players start to realize they can basically do anything they want with the help of what the game offers. I'm more worried about other players than NPCs, but right now my main focus is to make it to the next level without dying, I'm going to risk it all and go to the dungeons after this.." The goblins that were bonded would slowly be dragged toward Nexon as he kept his head down. "Once I'm out of this game, I'm going to move as far away from technology as possible. Maybe live on a farm."Without warning, more strength was put into the dragging of the chains. Once the two goblins were close enough, a dagger ended up in the gut of both of them. Nexon would let go of the chains before punching the daggers deeper and deeper into the goblin's before nothing was left but the data fading away into the air. "Promise me that."[/div]

that was you. Catharsis did his best to pay attention to the battle through the rollercoaster that was his companion's emotions in such a short span of time. It was like a surge of energy blasted over him every couple of seconds. Well, that worked. The moment the cooldown wore off, Catharsis drained another goblin. They were making pretty good progress. The quest would probably be over soon. It'd be over faster, of course, if he didn't have to stop to stare at the party member while letting his smile fade. It wasn't necessarily that Cat thought Nexon was stupid, or even wrong. He knew people weren't inherently good, most control mechanisms were gone and there was nothing to actually stop someone from doing what they wanted. Still, he slowed down, listening while the guy spoke. How old was he? Cat decided just as quickly that it didn't matter to him. "Okay, okay, I promise." He said quickly when the guy pressed him to speak. "You know, I've really only planned as far as jumping in the shower once I'm able to log off. Maybe eating a burger. Not sure about the order." He figured he'd need it. At least, that's what he assumed from the great big nothing that everyone knew about what was going on in the world - except, of course, that it was probably still turning. "Of all people, I'd think you'd be okay if someone tried to attack you ..." From the little that Cat knew, he certainly wouldn't have been inclined even if he had been the sort. "Isn't it contradictory to make plans and then throw yourself into that dungeon?" It was a shitty thing to say, and Catharsis knew it, but it had never stopped him before. If Nexon was set on dying anyway, what was the point of Cat keeping a secret though? The Empath couldn't see the point of it, even if he wasn't sure exactly who he'd gossip with about that kind of thing to begin with. He liked talking about either himself or the person who was present too much for that. ooc } nexon goblin attack force 6/10 MADE BY ★MEULK

young bull His muscles were no longer tense after the promise was made. Nexon was being too careless, that could get him killed. For some reason, Nex believed he could keep the promise. There's nothing worse than breaking a promise. The male took a knee for a while, it was too simple to take out the goblin's so he decided to wait for them to come on their own. A sigh escaped his lips bed doing laying on his back. The quest was half way near completion, there was no need to rush and waste all their energy when they could do something amazing at the last minite. It's always about the finishing attack, that secret triumph card every player should when they're in trouble and need a skill to utterly defeat their target. If they were near failure, Nexon had a back up plan just in case it came to that point. The Binder counted on his fingers how many ways he could take out a goblin, too bad he didn't have enough fingers. Just thinking about that out his signature cocky grin across his face. The Binder left an eyebrow at his partner's response to his question. Usually people would kiss the ground and go search for their family and friends, but Cat was just going to take a shower like it was just an ordinary day for him. "You're confusing, I like that. Burger? Are you American in real life or something?" The teen said in his German accent that was quite strong, making it noticeable about his ethnicity. Every time he pictured how an American would look it would be a hillbilly with a burger in one hand and a shotgun in the other. Nexon chuckled at his weird imagiantion, sitting upward for a view of when the goblin's were heading their way. There was no reason to look as the chains would've detected them for him, it just felt natural to always look for danger. The chains biggest weakness was long ranged class users, so always had to watch out for them. That's when he suddenly remembered again about the dagger he threw and was going to obtain back. The Binder would head toward the crowd of goblins to get his dagger back, edging closer toward the range on his passive skill. Nexon stopped in his tracks after hearing what Cat said about his plan. "You need to understand. Plans always have crazy variables. You can prepare for weeks to take on a certain monster in a dungeon just to find out it's a different monster you're fighting. I've never seen an absolute 100% plan. Sometimes those variables could come in handy. For example the mobster could be easier than the one you was preparing to fight. My final resolve.." As much fun as the game was, he just wanted to go home and finish college already to move on with his life. Nexon kept his fear of dying in the game hidden, it's not worth crying over a faith as shorty as this. [/div]

that was you. Huh. Catharsis wasn't used to anyone liking him, but he was sure that'd change in time so he didn't take it to heart all that much. Still, he grinned at Nexon. "Yeah, I am." He wasn't really about to drop any more than that on the kid, though. He wasn't being asked for his backstory, and he doubted anyone would want to hear it besides. Even if they did, it'd leave the man questioning their intentions. Rather than risk the conversation doing anything but grinding to a halt, he left himself to assume Nexon was german. Perhaps english was his second language? It hadn't occurred to Cat before when he was playing this game what that might feel like, even without the current context. He didn't dwell on it. "Okay, well, try not to die." Catharsis said when Nexon was finished explaining to him. Too many people were throwing their life away, and for all Cat could tell it placed an immense amount of trust in the person behind. It seemed stupid to Catharsis, when the person was clearly just dicking with who knew how many lives just to make a point. Someone willing to pull this shit, to play the cold calculus for the sake of whatever kind of fucked up ideals, wasn't anyone Cat was about to take on their word about the dungeons. That didn't mean he was going to stand in the way of someone who was hellbent on trusting the promise of freedom, though. If Nex wanted to risk it all for a chance at returning home again, that was his choice. If the person behind all of this was the type to keep their word, he'd be grateful for whoever succeeded. He hummed slightly under his breath, before stepping out of the safety of Nexon's binds, catching the attention of a handful of the goblins and then immediately stepping back towards the inner sanctum of the radius. They'd thinned the herd pretty well. Looked like this really was going to be an easy quest with no twists or turns for once. Nice. ooc } nexon goblin attack force 7/10 MADE BY ★MEULK

Nexon smirked, he could really use someone like Cat. Not because of his class, because of company. There's no way he could make it through the game alone without help from other players. It was still too early to decide who he wanted to make it to the end of the game with, so far Cat was his only candidate. His eyes followed the movements of Cat, curious of what exactly he was doing moving toward the goblins then moving back. The Binder's smirk grew wider, there was something about Cat that made him realize he could really use a player like that. It's almost like he was analyzing when to make his attack. Brains over bronze was how to win the game, which gave players like Nexon an advantage. Back in the real world before he was trapped in the game, Nex was going to become an oversea student at Stanford university in the United States. It was now time for him to make a move on the goblins, he's not going to let Cat take all the credits. Deep down, Nexon's true desire was to become the best player in the game a little bit more than actually leaving the game. His ego was going to be the death of him in the game.
His right door slammed against the ground with as much strength he could possibly muster at the time in order to grab the attention of the goblins and his partner. "Let's do it! I want you to join me on taking on the dungeon and making it to the next floor, I believe you got what it takes to keep up with my awesomeness." The main reason why he wanted Cat was because he wasn't bossy and would let him take the lead on all the decision making, that's the kind of player he wanted in his group to beat the dungeons. Staying on the first floor made Nexon feel weak, like there was no chance of him ever getting better and beating the game. Six goblins were now in the range of his passive skill, activating it the second they were detected in sight. His tattoos quickly converted into chains to rush for the goblins before they moved out of range. The chains were fast, especially when it came to weak level monsters like goblins. The chains were already crushing them to the ground in no time. Once the six goblins were binded, Nex signalled his partner to take on the goblins with a whistle.
It was a test of teamwork, to make sure if they had chemistry before blindly taking Cat on the dungeons. Nexon wasn't the kind of guy to make a decision without planning beforehand, he's been carefully monitoring Cat's abilities at the start of the quest. An Empath, huh? I want to know more about that class, it seems like it could come in handy. He feeds off of emotions and gets stronger from that, so I need another player to invite into the group to beat the dungeons. That's how Nex's mind worked, he basically told Cat that he's going with him to the dungeons without a say in his decision. catharsis

that was you. Everything seemed to be going so well ... right up until the guy he'd just met had jumped into deciding for Catharsis what was and wasn't going to happen. The empath blinked hard at the teen, smile gone as he was distracted from the ankle biters he'd tried to lure into the binder's range. Had he said something- done something- No, no, he was pretty sure he hadn't been inviting any of that for himself. The kid had just latched onto him and decided for him what was going to happen, and that irritated him. "Whoa, slow down man, I'm not doing the dungeons with anyone." He snapped, thrown off by the inability to keep track of how the guy had come to the conclusion that he would be interested. When Nexon whistled to him like a dog to signal that he should attack, his expression went blank. What had he just gotten himself into? Inhaling slowly, he lifted his staff and drove it down into the goblin as he closed his eyes. He heard the sound of the gibbering thing bursting into pixels, but it didn't really help ease his irritation any. The sooner this quest was over, the sooner he could figure out a way to squirm out of this. He might not have anyone waiting for him at home, but that didn't mean he was ready to die either. ooc } nexon goblin attack force 8/10 MADE BY ★MEULK
