| So we said that we'd leave early, get some pizza later But my hands go down your jeans and you distract the waiter Until we take it somewhere better like the elevator | There was such a large amount of pride in the titles gained within game. It was such a pride that only a far few and between could get such a prestige. However it was still possible to gain, one of those ways was through the glory of bounties. True challenges of willpower and strength, Mustang had even heard that one player was able to claim two bounty titles. He could only hope he could do the same someday. He turned to his interface, placing his own great sword into the muddied dark earth. His gaze drifting to a dark shadow that stood just enough in the distance. Mustang continued to buzz through his interface as he messaged the fellow player as he awaited them to arrive. 'Hey I am here. You getting close! I'm super excited for this ' He sent to the girl named Hex. hex 1/8 |

bounty after bounty, hex felt like she just couldn't catch a break. she felt herself getting caught up in fighting when all she wanted to do was just lay down and nap. sadly, the rewards were too great to skip out on. money, weapons, armor? how could she say no to all that? hex didn't like to think that she feared death, but gathering loot was a sure way to make her feel a lot more comfortable while living in this hell. plus, it didn't hurt that she could look good in the process. a message appeared in her inbox: mustang. they'd planned to meet and take down the latest bounty that had spawned. coming, coming. hold your horses. a simple reply to his message. the foxfire didn't like to rush. slow and steady wins the race after all, right? by her feet, followed a tiny fox spirit that was covered in fire. her spirit of the fox summon was mostly used to heal her companions, but it also made for a good light source in the dark places of underworld. approaching the caverns, the girl looked around, but it was hard to see anything in this darkness, even with her fox by her side. "mustang, where are you?" the caster called out, elongating the vowels on her words.

Constant grinding and leveling could be heavily taxing for all of them. Even if the rewards weren't outstanding, who was Mustang to deny a good piece of loot. He was still a bit low level after all. His anxious energy was overflowing at this point, ready to do battle with a large orc. Truly would give him a good test of how combat worked at his level, perhaps he was just over his head however. At the meek words of Hex echoing, he raised a hand and quickly hushed out words. "Quiet...it's close!" He said as he began to back track towards where the caster was. His eyes glancing back to the orc that was prey. Once he saw her, he hurried a motion to come closer. A hand gesturing back to the where he was scouting. "It's just down there, you ready to go." Mustang whispered once again, it would be bad if they lost their advantage of surprise. hex 2/8 |

hex covered her mouth with her hand, a small smirk on her face. "oops," the word left her lips in a loud whisper. through the darkness, mustang emerged, waving her over with a hand. hex looked to where he gestured, eyes landing on the orc. the caster hadn't known what she expected, but it definitely wasn't this. this beast had been much, much, much larger than any bounty boss she'd encountered before. the thing had to be over ten feet tall! more of a challenge, she supposed. maybe the loot they'd get would be worth it. with her fox at her side ready to heal when the moment stuck, hex pulled out her broom from its position against her back. "i'm ready if you are." this time her whisper came out quieter than the last, the orc in her sights. "i'll follow up when you move in." she braced herself to move in, ready to charge in at mustang's go.

| So we said that we'd leave early, get some pizza later But my hands go down your jeans and you distract the waiter Until we take it somewhere better like the elevator | The girl seemed to take notice now, even a loud whisper would not be enough to alert the orc it would seem. His cautious look over his shoulder as he awaited any immediate charge from the thing. As much as he felt invincible at times, his fight with the last bounty was a reminder that you could never be too careful. Even if Mustang's class was made to take damage, back and forth. He felt himself tense up with a built up excitement. The girl was ready to go and while she pulled out a broom, Mustang felt for his sword. Even in the dark unknown cavern they were in, he knew right were he was. The tension being broken as his broadsword slowly unsheathed. Slowly turning back to face the dark silhouette in the distance, the defender muttered to Hex behind him. "Three, two... one." Before beginning to walk towards the orc, his pace quirking as he prepared his first strike. hex 3/8 |

the woman listened to the sound of the metal of his sword scratching against his sheath as he pulled out his weapon. even though it was quiet, it sounded like a scream in the silence. then all was still once more. the utility didn't know how long she waited before the man began his countdown. three. two. as the last number left his lips, she darted forward, broom in her hand, fox spirit to her side. as the two closed the distance with their target, hex prepared to attack. stopping at a safe distance, she tapped the handle of her broom against the ground, the brush catching flame and giving them them light in the darkness. a circle of flames appeared on the ground, and hex realized just how useful it was that she was a fire mage fighting his this underground abyss. each of her skills lit up the dark tunnels giving them vision in their fight. the light was just as helpful as it was hindering though. if they could see, that meant that so could the orc. they were faster, though, and hopefully strong too. hex finished off her skill by sweeping the circle on the ground towards their bounty, trapping the orc, and hopefully giving mustang the chance to move in closer while he was stuck in place.

| So we said that we'd leave early, get some pizza later But my hands go down your jeans and you distract the waiter Until we take it somewhere better like the elevator | While Hex seemed preoccupied to prep some sort of encirclement, Mustang was dead set on being that loud annoying meat shield for the orc. Is that not what every defender was? Either way he was quickening his steps faster and faster, the caverns illuminating in shadows as their target now was fully aware of them. They had this in the bag though, as long as he could keep aggro and that Hex made sure that she healed him. "Here we go you ugly fuck!" Mustang shouted with laughter. Even with the size difference of at least five feet, the defender felt not a tingle of fear. As he closed in, he immediately ducked the on-coming punch that came from Ragnarok, swinging his sword upwards across it's chest. Mustang could feel it breath down on him and the heat that radiated from the area as his caster surrounded them in a circle of fire. With a clearer vision, the raven haired man was able to avoid yet another wild swing from their prey. "You wouldn't happen to have a damage buff right?" He asked casually, as if their wouldn't be another hammer fist swinging in his direction. hex 4/8 |

mustang ran at the orc without a single ounce of fear in him. hex raised her eyebrows at his dauntless behavior. charging in just like that? well he was a defender after all, she supposed, but she wasn't an attacker and there wasn't anyone else around. he'd be the only one doing the damage. the woman watched as the man dodged the orc's clumsy punches and landed his own attacks. she let out a sigh at the claymore's question. everyone always expected her to have this wide array of skills that she could cast to buff and heal and stun all at the same time, but sadly it didn't work like that. there was only so much she could do with her skills as they were now. "nope, but if you need some healing or the occasional stun, then i'm your girl!" she voiced echoed against the walls, as she stood a distance back from the fight. the woman felt bad for sitting on the sidelines, but there wasn't much she could do at the given time. mustang had yet to be in the danger zone with his health, and her fox was already called out if he got in any trouble. all she could do for now was sitting and wait until she could stun their target once more.

| So we said that we'd leave early, get some pizza later But my hands go down your jeans and you distract the waiter Until we take it somewhere better like the elevator | Sadly the claymore had gotten his hopes up that the fox girl could have done more then just healing. He wasn't made specifically just to deal out damage, so even if he wasn't aware of it for the moment, he would dread as the fight would be dragged out. Mustang still continued to avoid mostly wild haymakers, retorting with his own swings of his sword. Pixels flying left and right in the shadowy cavern, but sadly he could only do so much. While it was hard for the orc called Ragnarok to land a hit on Mustang, the lighting did no favors to his accuracy either. While it wasn't a issue initially, he was made to take damage. Given how the last bounty had him exhausted from it's length, he needed to increase his damage output. "Alright I'm trusting you on that!" He said as he prepped himself, his sword swings halted. His fists clenched tightly as he waited for the orc to strike, and all at once Ragnarok began to pummel and bruise the claymore. It was up to her now to keep him alive. hex 5/8 |

"what is he doing?" the foxfire muttered to herself as she watched the man stop his attacks and let the orc start to attack him. "go on now, heal him!" she said the words louder to the fox spirit that sat beside her. in a few quick strides, the fox now stood beside the defender, pressing its nose to his leg and slowly giving them man health. now it was his job to block the oncoming attacks from the bounty before her fox couldn't heal anymore of the damage that he was taking. with the time that had passed, hex supposed she could once more stun the giant with her infernal brand. smacking her broom stick against the ground, a spell circle appeared beneath her feet. the utility didn't hesitate in sweeping the circle towards the orc and trapping it within its hold. as the circle was slid towards their target, cinders and ashes had been tossed into the air, covering the distance between the fight and hex, healing the man as they touched him, yet burning the orc. it wouldn't be much damage, but it was an additional heal to what the fox had already been doing.

| So we said that we'd leave early, get some pizza later But my hands go down your jeans and you distract the waiter Until we take it somewhere better like the elevator | He had felt pain before, cuts and gashes along all of his body. But the amount of bruising and his possible broken bones was growing rapidly. It felt similar to that one scene he saw from a movie, where the hero was a large hulking mass of green and took this god and just flung him around like he was nothing. It was funny at first, but feeling like that god being tossed left and right was painful. Mustang could feel his body pulsing in pain, but his skill was charged. Pulling his sword above his head, he swing straight down across the orcs chest. Just as he felt the firefox beginning to heal him, enough that he could put a full swing behind it. The orc roared in pain as it began to back away from the two. However it was trapped and shortly after it was stunned thanks to Hex. "A-Almost there. Ah my fucking back..." He groaned as he pressed a hand on the small of his back. Mustang proceeded forward, though not at quite a pace as he had done before. His sword still in his mitt as he proceeded to follow up with a few basic swings across the orc that was stunned. hex 6/8 |

hex could feel her eyes burning as tears threatened to form. what was this crazy man doing just letting the orc hit him like that? with each hit that he took, more and more pixels flew from his body. if he kept this up, he was going to die! the woman knew she wasn't very strong, her skill set was made to support not to deal damage, but she couldn't watch as this man killed himself. just as the caster was getting ready to move in, the man once more began attacking the bounty and continued to attack as her stun landed and trapped the beast. even with her fox healing the man, hex could see that he was in pain. she watched as her fox continued to heal the man, its body becoming transparent until it eventually disappeared, drained of its healing properties. she took a few steps closer to the fight as mustang swung at the trapped orc. "do you think you can finish it off?" she certainly hoped he could, and fast, too, or else she'd have to come in and beat the ten foot tall orc with her broom.

| So we said that we'd leave early, get some pizza later But my hands go down your jeans and you distract the waiter Until we take it somewhere better like the elevator | As much as every bone in his body ached him, a drip of pixelated blood dripping from the mouth of the defender. Mustang's determination did not waiver at this stage, his own confidence bringing a smirk to his face. It brought out flashes to his previous fight, while it did some rather scarring damage to him, he enjoyed the fight. A sort of blind adrenaline that the charcoal haired player only could imagine, the last of the fox familiar's healing not taking away from it. The orc stood worse for wear, it's own condition taking a toll like he had. Only recently showing the damage it had taken after that last large attack from the defender. It was a risk with that last attack, as his green bar was flashing red before the healing had taken place. Thanks to Hex's help he felt better, changing it to a deep orange color. His posture once slouched with exhaustion straightened up, his grip reaffirming to his sword. "I got this thing." He said to Hex who stood behind him. This like the last was a mettle of his swordsmanship. Whether it was sweat or some unearthly force, a light steam began to exude from Mustang. There was no reason behind such a mysterious display, it was something the defender wasn't even aware of. In a huff, the orc kept it's eyes locked on Mustang, intent on finishing this fight. A wild swing nearly grazed him as he charged back into its space. Taking another large swing this time at the thing's arm, spraying pixels into the air. It's hooked tusks roaring as the other fist hurled towards him. This time, Mustang played foolishly jumping into the attack. But this played right into his Swift Justice ability. Knocking him just again into the red area of his health, but the damage bonus took effect as he followed through. Meeting Ragnarok's fist with the end of the guard of his sword, carving through orc-ish bone and flesh till it chopped it's hand off. The last fleeting moments of the bounty being Mustang's eyes bloodshot in a fury as he continued his swing through it's chest. Quickly dispersing it into a explosion of pixels as Mustang fell to his knees shortly after. hex 7/8 |

with the man's words, hex took a step back from the two and watched on as he said he could finish it off. with the continued slashes from both the beast and the player, pixels flew everywhere until there was a single victor. mustang. the defender fell onto his knee as the giant orc that once stood at ten feet tall was now nothing more than mere pixels. hex's eyes lingered on the loot that the bounty dropped, illuminated by the light of the orc's fading pixels, but she figured she could grab it later. right now, mustang was more important than the loot that was dropped from their target. she rushed to the man's side and came to kneel beside him, placing a hand on his back. "you alright?" her voice seemed louder in the now nearly empty cavern. without the aid of her abilities, the cave was pitch black; it was impossible to see anything now as the pixels were completely gone. the only reason she knew mustang was there was by the heat that was coming off of his body onto her hand. "if you give me a second, i can summon another fox. it can heal you some more and help us find the way out."

| So we said that we'd leave early, get some pizza later But my hands go down your jeans and you distract the waiter Until we take it somewhere better like the elevator | With what little health he had left, Mustang let out a hurry of small breathes. Doing his best to recover as all the adrenaline was beginning to fade, the pain of his injuries fully taking effect. It felt even worse then Mustang had felt during the fight. There was no real conclusion of if you could break bones in this, but it felt like he did. The heat still radiating off of his body, something that even Hex could feel from a distance. As she placed a hand on the weakened defender's back, his entire body shook. "Ah! Fuck... gentle.. gentle..." He exclaimed as every touch of his body stung. The darkness taking the two as the loot of the bounty got sorted into his inventory. It wasn't his focus, if not for the pitch black Hex would see the faint smile coming from Mustang. "If I wasn't already in a guild I would ask... to join." He said between weak breaths as he reached his hand out to the girl in the dark. He reached up touching the end of her cheek with the tips of his fingers, slowly pulling back as he kept his best to remain conscious. hex 8/8 |
