In passing, Akeno had mentioned that she was going to fight one of those bounties alongside Rex. Having looked at the board himself, Raynauld quickly decided two things: Separating to divide and conquer the bounties that had recently arisen was a better idea, and he could do without hearing another series of verbal jabs from Rex at Akeno or himself.[break] That was what led to the current situation - if they were to fight that rumoured gargoyle, that left him with the undead knight... him and the fourth member he'd never known much of, Drakka. Based almost entirely on his interactions with the other members of the guild, he had to assume they were some form of dysfunctional - Though, Rex and Akeno were able to overcome that, so he surmised they could do much the same.[break] It's Raynauld. Bounty for some guy named "Aldus of the Fallen"; wandering 'round the valley of the same name. Akeno and Rex have the gargoyle one; you in?So Raynauld sent that message to Drakka and waited atop one of the many hills in the valley, now clad in the silver armor of the Stahlkorper. At his side, a spear laid point in the ground, two odd protrusions on the side - evidently he'd been experimenting with another weapon again.[break] Bounty Battle - 1/8 drakka

Drakka barely noticed the fact they had a new member at first, after a fight with a monster water dragon, looking at your guild's members wasn't typically the thing you did. It was kinda hard not to notice the guy had joined though, even if Drakka didn't see him much. So she was pretty surprised at a sudden message from him. She had made a decision to hunt the Bounty with Rex later, possibly Akeno if Rex was proving to be too much of an asshole, but this was alright! Sure. Stay there. Don't start without me. Sent. The hills of the valley initially intimidated her, and she was reasonably certain she'd be unable to tell where this Raynauld was. Turns out, she was worrying for nothing...because he was standing smack dab on the crest of a hill! She jogged upward, surprisingly agile as she leaped up the final stretch of the hill, " Jeez, thanks for the easy finding." She was still moving in a running motion as she looked him up and down, he looked like a Defender. She didn't fight alongside many Defenders...how were supposed to do that?...Still, back to hunting! " But if we don't wanna get fucked over by a ambush, we're going down." It seemed she wasn't taking "no" for an answer, if her tone was any indication. She shifted quickly, sitting calmly in front of Raynauld in her full Lobisomem form, quirking her scaly lips up, " Don't hold me back, knight" She chuckled before setting off, padding down the hill cracks. She could hear slight sounds around, but she couldn't pinpoint them, they'd have a moment to think and talk. raynauld

He felt her coming long before she did, such were the crimson threads he'd recently become acquainted with. Still, when he turned he hadn't expected this exact kind of person - a girl, probably about his age! Given the people he'd come into contact with recently, he was starting to think that this was a game for adults and he'd just managed to skip the age check somehow. She was kinda cute, too-[break] And then she turned into some form of hideous werewolf, and the magic was gone. Raynauld grimaced for a bare second before forcing himself to have a different opinion for the time being. No, Ryan, you know better than that, he told himself.[break] "Yeah, fine," He said to her request, though it was more of a command (was that common? Rex and Akeno had habits of howling out orders too) and pulled his spear out, descending. Now that he looked closer at Drakka's wolf-form (not that he wanted to), wasn't this the same one he saw at Aequor's lair? Small game-world. ... Eventually, he decided to broach the question, especially since their target hadn't shown yet.[break] "I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, given the other woman we both know, but... I would've figured you'd want to have been something... prettier."[break] The bounty couldn't have arrived quickly enough.[break] 2/8 - drakka

Drakka definitely didn't miss Raynauld's grimace, but her only reaction was to twitched her ears and continue on. She supposed it was only a matter of time before one of her guildmates reacted to her like this, it actually made a surge of pride fill her chest, to know she could scare a person in such a fashion. Her ears rotated to and fro as Raynauld talked, she heard him, but for a second wouldn't answer as she searched the various sounds wandering through the air. Quite suddenly, she'd answer, tilting her head back to let her voice drift back to him, " Yeah, and I suppose I would wear a damned dress while I'm at it." She spat before a more genuine laugh shook her shoulders, " Look, if I wanted to look pretty, I'd look different in my human form, this is just an extension." Her fangs clicked out, hollow and shiny yet sharp, " I can fight those monsters in this form, I'd make myself a hell of a lot uglier if it helped me survive, and that is good enough for m-" A great sword cracked the ground before her, throwing up a column of dirt and forcing a gasp from Drakka at the sudden explosion of noise. Drakka scrambled backward, pressing close to Raynauld and roaring. The giant knight stepped forward, making absolutely no sound except to wrench his sword out of the ground and rumble a sort of challenge. Drakka puffed up and pulled her lips back, shooting a glance toward Raynauld and grinning monstrously before vanishing into the shadows. If watched carefully, he would see a wolfish figure circling the knight, waiting for an opening. Post: 2/8 raynauld

Raynauld frowned as she explained herself, how she'd make herself uglier if she could if it meant survival. Was that really what it meant? There were plenty of people here still monstrous whilst looking normal - Akeno, for one example, not that her mental state meant much of anything. She could've just done that if she wanted. Why go out of her way for this?[break] Not that the thought mattered when their prey arrived. A massive sword made him cringe - he'd expected a one-handed weapon, the better to parry with his spear. Nonetheless, this would have to do. Taking a firm stance, Raynauld braced him and spun his spear, pointing it at Aldus.[break] "Very well, you fallen one! You face Raynauld, Champion of She of the Fated, Lasivia! Stand your ground, knave, and I will make this quick."[break] In response, Aldus brought the claymore down again, and Raynauld met it with his spear, the points upon it catching the large blade and aiding him in pushing it off-course - the partisan's design was built for such. Using the time it would take him to recover, Raynauld went in for a series of thrusts, up until their quarry wrenched the blade free and managed to hit him with the flat of the claymore, sending him careening back a good ten feet.[break] 3/8 - drakka

Drakka made no sound, as she was a shadow, but she was fuming as Raynauld talked and talked! Just attack! Go ahead! They don't listen! Her stomach rolled as the sword nearly came down on the Crusader, replaced by a nauseous feeling as he blocked it! Damn! He was strong! ...But apparently not invincible, as he was punted away a good 10 feet. Drakka quickly took over where he fell, leaping toward a break he had created in the knight's armor, locking her jaws and squeezing with all her might, certain her venom had poisoned the enemy. Suddenly, her sight went white, originating in her mouth as she flew back, letting out an involuntary yell as pain wrapped around her teeth. She spat subconsciously, forgetting she had no actual teeth to spit before throwing herself out of the sword. She danced around the unwieldy piece of armor, and when she caught sight of Raynauld, she'd grin before howling out a quick, " Poisoned!" This yell nearly cost her head as the sword swung in a wide arc, but she got off with a long cut along her side. Her claws would usually bend back attempting to even touch that armor, but she was confident enough in her reinforcing weapons to tear apart long gash along the knight's leg before she retreated for real, jumping out of its attack range. raynauld

Raynauld frowned slightly at the mention of poison, but made no comment regardless of his thoughts on the subject. With Drakka flanking the quarry, Raynauld was free to get his bearings and re-focus himself. A yell, and he drove the spear into Aldus's other leg, ripping it out to join Drakka in crippling the foe.[break] "Did you forget about me? How dishonorable of you - Our duel has not yet finished!"[break] In response, the claymore swung in a whirling arc, Raynauld ducking the blow before stepping in further for a series of stabs to the gut that mostly met armor. He was quickly kicked away in short measure - so his legs still worked, did they? Perhaps their plan to cripple him was less successful than anticipated.[break] Another swing of the claymore, the clanging rings of their weapons meeting. In his peripheral, the crimson thread swaying as his ally waited to strike. He dared not turn Aldus for fear Drakka would be seen, ruining their flanking chances. No, this was the time to stand his ground, more than ever.[break] 4/8 - drakka

And there he was, talking again. Really, she couldn't give a damn unless it messed with his fighting, thankfully, it wasn't. She grew once more, and a shadow came to life beside her, half her height but looking just as dangerous. It leapt first, hanging off the knight's sword arm and clawing frantically at its armor, tearing open the flesh within before Drakka launched her own attack. She slammed roughly into its back, bringing her front claws back and slamming them deep into the knight. Judging by the spray of pixels, she had succeeded in dealing a lot of damage. The momentarily triumph didn't last long, as her Shadow pack member was thrown away, thudding heavily into the ground, HP cut in half. Drakka herself only had half a second to spring off the knight's back before it stopped trying to attack Raynauld and whirled around, moving far faster than she had expected. A slam against her shoulder opened up her digital skin and threw her away. Unlike her shadowy doppelganger, she didn't immediately get up, pushing herself up and hissing a long breath out. Damn! That hurt! Hurriedly, she activated Shadow Walk, intending to hide until the world stopped spinning. raynauld

"Where are you LOOKING, you excuse for a knight?! Your opponent is here!"[break] The tip of the spear shone white, blazing hot as he drove it into Aldus following the monster's attack on Drakka - a Heartbreak Smite. Its power wasn't what it could have been, in all honesty, but it was enough for a roar of pain to join in the sounds Aldus made.[break] With Drakka missing, the quarry turned back to Raynauld, but differently than before; his eyes, sunken as they were and hidden somewhat by the great helm atop his head, darted around, scanning the peripheral. He must have been catching onto the plan. Well, they would improvise - or get lucky, whichever came first. A swing, horizontal, that Raynauld caught with the spear's edge and threw into the ground. The time was now.[break] "Ave Maria!" He lunged forward, slamming the tip of the spear straight into Aldus and pushing against him. With a free hand, Aldus shoved against him - of course that wouldn't stop him, he was undead - and their tug-of-war for positioning of the fight began in real earnest. "I will not- ngh! - bow to you, fallen cur of this land!"[break] 5/8 - drakka

Drakka emerged, a bit bigger and jagged fangs and claws clearly sharper than they were just a little while ago. The knight burbled something intelligible but didn't turn towards her as she rushed for it, simply tensing in preparation for the impact, and impact Drakka did. She angled her paws forward to bash the armor in, jumping off with a huge amount of force. Whether or not Raynauld took advantage of this opening, she struck again. Another Snake Bite to the side sent the poison damage ticking lower and lower. The shadow pack reemeged to leap up and claws at the same spkt, though a kick sent it tumbling away before vanishing in a burst of shadows. A shame, but it had fulfilled it's duties already. Drakka circled around the knight, waiting for another opening to be forced by Raynauld before she struck once more. Post: 5/8 raynauld

To his credit, Raynauld was quick to capitalise on the opening Drakka made, ripping his spear out, leaping forward and plunging his spear downward into Aldus's shoulder before crossing to the other side. He smirked as he turned to face Aldus once more, who slowly turned to face Raynauld. A stalemate quickly formed.[break] And then Aldus roared, and clenched the hilt of his blade. He pulled with great force, and separated the one great blade into two smaller blades, swinging wildly and with fervor.[break] "Wh-what?!"[break] The maneuver caught Raynauld off-guard; he'd not expected a form change. Aldus rushed forward, swinging wildly as if berserk, and it was all Raynauld had to parry the blows. They came so much quicker that defending was near impossible with just the spear, and he was quickly being worn down. At least, he supposed, he had Aldus's full attention. Raynauld was rapidly regretting it, however - Aldus's strikes were starting to get through more often.[break] 6/8 - drakka

Drakka made the mistake of trying to get too close when the sword split into two, scrambling backwards a second too late before she received a shallow stab to the chest, wrenching herself away before any more damage could be done. Instinctively, she observed the wound, clicking her tongue at the digital gash. Her health was in the yellow. The knight had set upon Raynauld, much more agile now that it had two smaller swords to work with. Her ears flattened as she ran in for another attack. This time she leapt upon its shoulders and started chewing through the right arm. She didn't get too far before the knight shuddered and flung her off, but this time she was holding a huge chunk of armor, exposing the rotten flesh of the knight's shoulder and neck. Encouraged, Drakka leapt again, injecting another Snake Bite to the exposed area before retreating, hoping the poison would do something to its arm. raynauld

Did... Did she just bite that undead creature?[break] Raynauld blanched at that attack before he did anything else. Drakka had better have been planning to brush her teeth and wash her mouth after something so unsanitary. In fact, he might have actually made her after this, because the sheer possibilities of diseases alone was appalling, let alone other things.[break] At first, it seemed as if Drakka's poison did little to slow Aldus at all, and Raynauld went back to his desperate defense. In time, however, attacks from the right began to slow down, addled by the venom. And that was the critical moment. With a mighty swing, Raynauld struck the blade with his spear and wrenched to the left, ripping the sword from his grasp and sending it flying; he immediately stepped back, now prepared.[break] "There it is! Ave Maria!"[break] Raynauld used his spear to propel himself over Aldus, tossing his spear on the descent at his legs and penetrating through, pinning the bounty. When he landed, he rushed the spear and grabbed it to put pressure on the weapon and keep Aldus locked down.[break] "This is the fatal moment! Now, finish it!"[break] 7/8 - drakka

Yes, she did just bite and undead beast, and no, she wasn't enjoying it. Drakka lolled out her tongue and spat viciously, mouth craving open to give a racking cough, refusing to swallow as some of the tastes of the game world were way too accurate to appreciate. Thankfully she snapped back into the fight when the monster knight was pinned down, legs sending her into another pounce onto the monster. It raised an arm with a warning growl but without its swords this was a pointless fight, and she was reasonably angry with this creature and wouldn't back down. Her claws plunged down, cutting deep into its shoulders and neck, a startling amount of HP being lost, and Drakka started to pull. The gurgling of the knight suddenly cut off as she hooked her back legs into his armor and, with this new leverage, killed him. He seemed resigned to this death. His head would fade last, attached to her claws until she flung it away. Two treasure chests were all that remained of him. Drakka paced in place for a moment before settling back, returning to her original size and form, and roaring?...Howling?...it was kinda hard to tell, but she was definitely happy! raynauld

"Hmph. A knight's fall is always tragic... always avoidable. You will not be missed." Raynauld pulled his spear free from the ground that ensonced the point once Aldus had fallen to oblivion. Spinning it once, he slung it over his back. So, that was the end of that bounty; he wondered if Akeno and Rex had trouble on their own hunting errand. Knowing them, they didn't, but given their proclivities...[break] Well, if they died he would know anyway. Striding over to one of the chests, Raynauld kicked the lock and pushed the lid open with his foot, claiming a pittance of blood money and using the spear to pull out a blood-red cloak. Rough material, tattered slightly... Not a very delectable piece of material, but something could be done with it. Heavy coat, maybe? Poncho, hooded? He'd think of something.[break] "... So! That's that, is it? That wasn't so bad."[break] It really was less awful than anticipated. Far less swearing and general insanity than usual, though more banter. That was always fun.[break] 8/8 - drakka
