A poet, a minstrel, or more simply—a glorified bard, the use of song and spellsinging (also spellslinging) transforms into boon and blessing for allies or inversely, curse and infliction on enemies. Melodies and sounds alone can very much become a weapon through the troubadour's armament of choice. Even with or without an instrument, words are not to underestimated either, capable of being channeled through other mediums to turn the tide of battle. |

The troubadour class has two "modes," so to speak, described as stances, though both relate to utilitarian abilities and only dictate which targets are affected by his birdsong. For allies, there is the symphonic stance, while its opposite is named the rhapsodic stance. The troubadour is always in one or the other (hence the passive classification), but in order to switch stances, he must not be engaged in direct combat or have any skills active, and of course, there is a considerable cooldown in-between.
[break][break]With all song or performance-based skills, the effect will linger for a brief period of time after it ends, but can last indefinitely for as long as the targets remain within range and the troubadour continues the song without interruption. Naturally, only one performance skill can be in play at a time, so if a new one begins, the other ends, and it affects only his immediate party members.

In symphonic stance, this song will gradually restore the party's health by a small amount over time. The rate remains the same, but its potency increases with each level. In rhapsodic stance, it reduces the amount of healing enemies receive (whether self-cast or from an ally). Regardless of stance, it does tend to draw more attention to the troubadour.

In symphonic stance, this song boosts nearby party members' overall defenses with a protective barrier by a static amount, increasing with each level, while rhapsodic stance will decrease the enemies' attack. The radial range is slightly smaller than a normal song's, and also lowers the troubadour's own attack power.
